Tonight s fes vi es include: Promo onal Giveaway: The first 20,000 fans a ending tonight s game will receive a 1968 commemora ve road jersey, courtesy of Comerica Bank. Throwback uniforms: The Tigers and Cardinals will each wear 1968 throwback uniforms for tonight s game World Champions Pregame Ceremony: Members of the Tigers 1968 World Championship Team will be honored during a special pregame onfield ceremony. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats at 5:15 p.m. The ceremony will commence with the Comerica Bank Parade of Champions that will take place on field, featuring 15 Corve es and one Camaro, courtesy of the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers. Ceremonial First Pitches: The ceremonial first pitches will be thrown by Al Kaline, Willie Horton, Mickey Lolich, and Mickey Stanley, represen ng the 1968 team. Na onal Anthem: The na onal anthem will be performed by José Feliciano, who performed the na onal anthem at Tiger Stadium for Game 5 of the 1968 World Series. RECENT RESULTS: The Tigers opened their series against the Cardinals with a 5-3 walk-off victory on Friday night at Comerica Park. With the game ed 3-3 in the bo om of the ninth, Victor Reyes hit a one-out single and then came around to score on Jeimer Candelario s walk-off, two-run blast. Candelario had three hits in last night s game, while Reyes added two hits and scored twice. Nicholas Castellanos drove in two runs and went 1x3 in the victory. Shane Greene picked up the win a er pitching a scoreless ninth inning with one strikeout. Daniel Norris started for Detroit and allowed three runs on four hits with one walk and seven strikeouts in 5.0 innings. The Tigers and Cardinals con nue their threegame series tonight. Following the weekend series vs. St. Louis, the homestand con nues with three games vs. Houston (September 10-12). CANDY CRUSH: Jeimer Candelario hit a walk-off, tworun home run in the ninth inning of last night s game. According to MLB Statcast, the pitch that Candelario hit was MPH, making it the fastest pitch hit for a home run in the Majors this season. It marked Candelario s second game-ending homer of the season (last, June 9 vs. Cleveland) and was the Tigers sixth walk-off win of the season. Candelario s homer was one of three hits for him last night, giving him his second consecu ve three-hit performance and his sixth of the season. Candelario has back-to-back, three-hit games for the first me in his big league career. STREAKING: Niko Goodrum singled in the first inning of last night s game to extend his hi ng streak to seven games. Over his last seven games, Goodrum is ba ng.407/.484/.741 with seven runs scored, three home runs and four RBI. With a hit in tonight s game, Goodrum would equal the longest hi ng streak of his Major League career, set earlier this season from May IN THE NICK OF TIME: Nicholas Castellanos drove in two runs and went 1x3 in last night s game. The Tigers lead the Majors with a.306 ba ng average and.535 slugging percentage since August 30, while they are ed for the lead with 16 home runs and second with a.350 on-base percentage. TIGERS TIDBITS: Daniel Stumpf pitched a scoreless inning with one strikeout in last night s game. Since being recalled from Triple A Toledo on August 19, Stumpf has not allowed an earned run in eight appearances, throwing 8.1 scoreless innings with a 0.60 WHIP and nine strikeouts...victor Reyes had a pair of hits and scored two runs last night.
