Detroit s offense had its best performance of the season, pounding out 13 runs on 18 hits. Jeimer Candelario was a perfect 4x4 at the plate with a home run and three RBI, while Leonys Mar n added three hits, including his first career grand slam. José Iglesias contributed three hits and three RBI in the win, and Miguel Cabrera also had three hits. Jordan Zimmermann started for the Tigers and picked up his first win of the season, allowing four runs on seven hits with two walks and seven strikeouts in 5.1 innings. MARTIN IS GRAND: Leonys Mar n belted his first career grand slam in the fi h inning of yesterday s game. Mar n finished a double shy of the cycle yesterday, going 3x5 with three runs scored, a triple, a home run and four RBI. V-MART STAYS HOT: Victor Mar nez had a pair of hits, including a double and a RBI, in yesterday s game and has now reached base safely in 12 straight games.
