The Tigers series marks the earliest by calendar date and game number that the Dodgers have ever faced an AL opponent. Los Angeles last faced the Tigers in 2011, taking two of three games at Dodger Stadium, and has a 10-6 all-time record against Detroit, including a 7-3 mark at home. The clubs will also meet for a two-game set in Detroit July 8-9. Tomorrow, the Dodgers will fly to Arizona and open a three-game series against the D-backs Friday night. Following the weekend series in the desert, the club has an off-day in San Francisco Monday prior to its three-game series against the Giants Tuesday-Thursday. The Dodgers went 12-8 in Interleague Play last year, their first winning season against the AL since 2004 (10-8,.556). The Dodgers today reinstated RHP Josh Beckett from the 15-day disabled list (right thumb contusion) and optioned RHP Jose Dominguez to Triple-A Albuquerque. POWER UP: On Sunday, the Dodgers established a modern franchise record (since 1900) for most hits, seven, without a single (three doubles and four homers) and continued their quest for extra bases last night with five doubles and a homer. Los Angeles leads the Majors with 22 doubles and ranks fourth in the National League with a.410 slugging percentage. Dee Gordon slugged a leadoff home run last night (his second leadoff and third career homer) and finished the game 2-for-5.
