Los Angeles is in the midst of playing their division rivals from Denver for the first time this season, despite playing every other NL West foe at least six times. Last year, the Rockies were one of two teams (Arizona) to win the season series vs. L.A., going 9-10 against the National League champions. Following this series, the Boys in Blue will host the Padres for three games this weekend and then take on the Phillies in a four-game series next week. The Dodgers had their four-game winning streak snapped last night, but have still dominated the Rockies in Los Angeles since the Colorado franchise was born in 1993: LAD, Best Home Series Record vs. Any Opponent - Since 1993 (Minimum 5 series played) vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (.750) vs. Washington Nationals (.719) vs. Oakland Athletics (.667) vs. Colorado Rockies (.657) vs. Milwaukee Brewers (.636) SOURCE: STATS, LLC The Rockies did go 5-4 against the Dodgers at Chavez Ravine last season, including a four-game sweep at Dodger Stadium last September. On the year, Kemp is posting a.326/.364/.518 slashline with 14 runs, 12 doubles, five home runs and 20 RBI in 45 games in his return to the Dodger organization. He currently ranks third in the National League (8 th, MLB) in batting average, while his.882 OPS ranks 14 th on the Senior Circuit. Kemp is the only current Dodger with a home run off Rockies starter Chad Bettis, but Justin Turner (8-for-15, 2 2B, 5 RBI), Yasiel Puig (4-for-11, 2B, 3 RBI) and Yasmani Grandal (5- for-14) have all enjoyed success against the right-hander. MUNCY MASH: Dodger infielder/outfielder Max Muncy went 1-for- 2 with two walks last night and clubbed his fifth homer of the season, a solo blast in the fourth inning. In his last 11 games since May 10, Muncy has gone 10-for-29 (.345) with four doubles, three homers and 10 RBI along with a OPS. Tonight will mark Stewart s fourth stint with the Dodgers this year after allowing two runs over 5.2 innings and striking out five in three relief appearances (April 30, May 6 and May 11). In five starts with Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, Stewart, 26, is 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA (5 ER/21.2 IP) and has held hitters to a.208 average. Stewart has made four appearances vs. the Rockies in his career, including one start on Aug. 3, 2016, the second outing of his career (4.0 IP, 10 H, 9 ER, 4 HR). In 2.1 innings of relief over three appearances against the Rockies, Stewart has allowed four hits and two runs. In order to make room on the active roster, the Dodgers optioned ambidextrous pitcher Pat Venditte to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Venditte has allowed two runs in 2.2 innings (6.75 ERA) and struck out two without issuing a walk in three relief appearances with Los Angeles this season. Dodger pitching has been stellar the last five games since May 17, posting a 1.60 ERA (8 ER/45.0 IP), limiting hitters to a.135 average (21-for-155) and striking out 46.
