CRAZY FOUR YOU: The Dodgers continue their final homestand of the season (3-1) tonight with the second of four against the Rockies. With nine games to play in the regular season, Los Angeles leads the Giants by 6.0 games in the NL West and the Dodgers magic number to clinch their fourth consecutive division title is four. Following the Colorado series, the Dodgers embark on a season-ending trip to San Diego and San Francisco. The Dodgers remaining nine games are all against divisional opponents (3 vs. COL, 3 vs. SD, 3 vs. SF) and the club has gone (.582) against the NL West. With one more victory, the Dodgers clinch the season series with Colorado for the third consecutive season. Last night s victory moved the Dodgers to a season-high 21 games over.500. The Dodgers are (.641) at home, which is the secondbest mark in the National League, trailing only the Cubs (55-23,.705). With last night s victory, the Dodgers clinched back-to-back 50-win seasons at home for the first time since Last year, the club was at Dodger Stadium and they had 51 and 54 wins in 1977 and 1978, respectively. THE COMPANY YOU KEEP: Dodger shortstop Corey Seager went 0-for-4 with a walk and a run scored last night, giving him 101 runs on the season, the most by a Dodger rookie since Jim Gilliam in 1953, who scored 125. Since moving to Los Angeles in 1958, Seager is only the fifth Dodger to post a 25-homer/40-double season, joining Raul Mondesi (1997, 42 2B/30 HR), Eric Karros (1999, 40 2B/34 HR), Andre Ethier (2009, 42 2B/31 HR) and Adrián González (2014, 41 2B/27 HR), and only the eighth MLB rookie in the modern era (since 1900) to accomplish the feat along with Dale Alexander (1929, 43 2B/25 HR), Hal Trosky (1934, 45 2B/35 HR), Joe DiMaggio (1936, 44 2B/29 HR), Ted Williams (1939, 44 2B/31 HR), Tony Oliva (1964, 43 2B/32 HR), Nomar Garciaparra (1997, 44 2B/30 HR) and Albert Pujols (2001, 47 2B/37 HR) Source: Stats, LLC. Seager already holds the Los Angeles rookie record for hits (187), runs (101) and doubles (40), currently has the highest OBP of any LA rookie (.374) and also remains in the mix for the top mark in batting average (.315, behind Mike Piazza:.318, 1993). Seager ranks among the NL leaders in hits (187, 3 rd ), runs (101, 5 th ), doubles (40, T-3 rd ), total bases (310, 5 th ), batting average (.315, 6 th ), multi-hit games (56, T-2 nd ), extra-base hits (69, 7 th ) and slugging pct. AIN T IT GRAND(AL): Dodger catcher Yasmani Grandal belted two home runs last night, including a grand slam and one from each side of the plate, becoming the first Dodger to homer from the left and right sides since Orlando Hudson on July 12, Grandal s career-high 27 home runs are the most by a catcher in the Majors this season and the fifth most by a Los Angeles catcher, trailing only Mike Piazza ( , , and His 20 home runs since July 3 are tied with the Cardinals Jedd Gyorko for the most in the NL in that time. Andrew Toles is hitting.421 (8-for-21) off the bench, despite not being called up until July 8 and appearing in just 40 games. Toles eight pinch hits lead the Dodgers and overall, the 24- year-old Georgia native is batting.330 (30-for-91) with three homers, nine doubles, 15 RBI and 17 runs scored.
