1 Game #49, Home Game #20 - Wednesday, May 27th - Durham Bulls Athletic Park - 1:05 p.m. Rochester Red Wings (25-21, 1st, 1.5 GA) vs. Durham Bulls (26-22, T-2nd, 1.5 GB) LHP Taylor Rogers (3-3, 3.44) vs. LHP Everett Teaford (3-3, 5.50) Today's Game The Bulls play the finale of a three-game set against the Rochester Red Wings in the first series of a nine-game, 11-day homestand. Durham has won five games in a row, but has made up just one game in the IL South standings in that span. Rochester - the Minnesota Twins' top affiliate - is 2-4 over the first six games of a 14-game road trip to Norfolk, Durham, Buffalo and Lehigh Valley. Despite sitting in first place in the IL North, the Red Wings are just away from Frontier Field. Last Time Out The Bulls won their fifth straight game, defeating Rochester 2-1. Tied 1-1 entering the bottom of the 7th, OF Corey Brown hit a solo homer off the Snorting Bull for a 2-1 lead. RHP Dylan Floro (4-4) earned the win, allowing just one run on eight hits over 7.0 innings, while striking out a season-high seven batters. With A Win Today, The Bulls... Will win their sixth straight game for the first time since 4/9-4/15/14 when they won seven straight... Will sweep their second three-game series of the season, both at the DBAP... Will win a series at home against Rochester for the first time since 7/20-7/23/12 when they took 3-of-4... Will improve to five games above.500 for the first time since 5/14, when they were What A Difference A Year Makes After posting the worst cumulative winning percentage of any division in Minor League Baseball last season at.467, the IL South has posted a cumulative.525 winning percentage this season. Durham, Charlotte and Norfolk each have one of the league's six best records. RISPy Business After Rochester went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position last night, the Durham pitching staff has now held its opponents to a.236 average in those situations this season, 3rd-best in the IL behind Norfolk (.229) and Buffalo (.232). Good Pitching Always Beats Good Hitting Despite the Red Wings posting the best average in the IL (.270) and scoring the 2nd-most runs per game (4.4), Durham has held Rochester to just five runs over the first two games of this series. The Bulls' two starting pitchers over the first two games - RHP Matt Andriese and RHP Dylan Floro - have combined to allow just three earned runs over 12.0 innings. Muscial Chairs With three more transactions today, the Bulls have undergone 71 transactions this season, and 18 in the last eight days. Durham is on pace for 221 transactions this season, which would shatter the single-season franchise record of 172 set in The Bulls have used 41 players this season, 2nd-most in the IL to Buffalo (43). Northern Aggression The Bulls are in the midst of a 34-game stretch in which they play only IL North opponents, going over the first 30 games of that stretch. Durham will play just seven more games against the IL North after 5/31. SAVE The Date With a scoreless inning in last night's win, RHP Ronald Belisario earned his 10th save of the season - T-2nd in the IL - and third in the last four games. Durham has now recorded a save in each of the teams last four games, and the Bulls' 16 saves (in 22 chances) is T-2nd most in the IL after leading the circuit with 49 a season ago. Belisario's 10 saves are a single-season career high. Homer Happy With OF Corey Brown's home run last night, Durham leads the IL with 35 homers this season, hitting 25 homers in the month of May - seven more than the next closest team (Columbus). Brown's homer off the Snorting Bull was the first since current Tampa Bay Ray and former Syracuse Chief Steven Souza Jr. did so on 6/22/14, and was the first hit by a Bull since Justin Christian did so 5/31/14 against Lehigh Valley. Going Streaking UTL Taylor Motter is in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak (12-for-32, 9 RBIs, 6 R), his second hitting streak of eight games this season...
