The Braves received a solid start from David Hale. He went 6.0 innings, allowing three runs, two earned on six hits with five strikeouts. Atlanta s defense let him down, committing three errors on the day. The last error in the sixth allowed for the Mets to tie the game at 3-3. After an intentional walk and wild pitch, Curtis Granderson hit a sacrifice fly to push the winning run across. Highly-touted prospect Lucas Sims (L, 1-2) took the ball for the Hillcats, but he was roughed up for five runs, four earned on four hits in 6.0 innings. Sims struck out four and walked two. After hurling three scoreless frames to start the game, Sims gave up four in the fourth and one in the fifth. Kevin Keyes provide the big blow, as his three-run homer gave the P-Nationals a 3-0 lead. Potomac extended the lead to 5-0 on RBIs by Adrian Sanchez and Randolph Oduber. Lynchburg cut the lead with two runs in fifth, two runs in the sixth and one in the ninth. With Kevin Ahrens representing the tying run in the bottom of the ninth inning, Levi Hyams popped up to end the game and end the threat for the Hillcats. Jose Peraza, Will Skinner and Daniel Castro recorded two hits each, while Skinner and Castro scored two runs each.
