South Standings: At 40-41, Gwinnett trails Durham (50-32) by a season-high 9.5 games for first place in the International League South Division. The G-Braves, winners of the IL South in 2016, lead third-place Charlotte (36-45) by 4.0 games and fourth-place Norfolk (35-48) by 6.0 games. All Time vs. Charlotte: Gwinnett is (.487) in 193 games vs. Charlotte since 2009, and has won the season series three times in that span (13-8 in 2011, 13-9 in 2013, 13-9 in 2014). Wisler s Shutout Leads G-Braves to Split: After falling 8-3 in the completion of Saturday s suspended game, the G-Braves beat the Charlotte Knights 7-0 in game two yesterday at BB&T Ballpark. Wisler, While He Works: Matt Wisler recorded the second complete-game shutout of his career yesterday (7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 2 SO, 77 pitches/52 strikes), his first since 7/1/12 with Class-A Fort Wayne at Lake County (6.0 IP, 2 H, 0 BB, 6 SO in rain-shortened 4-0 win). Wisler is 3-1 with a 1.85 ERA (5 ER in 24.1 IP) over his last four outings with Gwinnett, lowering his season ERA from 5.01 to 3.84 (10 th in IL) he s now fourth among IL starters in lowest BB/9.0 IP ratio (1.92). Power Surge: After hitting just nine home runs over a 20-game span from 6/1-6/22, the G-Braves have combined to hit 17 homers over the last 10 games. The 17 clouts belong to Xavier Avery (4, #4-7), Ozzie Albies (3, #5-7), Carlos Franco (3, #3-5), Sean Kazmar Jr. (2, #6-7), Rio Ruiz (2, #5-6), Matt Tuiasosopo (2, #6-7) and Kyle Kubitza (1, #4). Thanks to the power surge, Gwinnett has moved from tied for eighth in the IL in homers on 6/23 (52) to sixth in the league in homers (69). Freeman on Rehab: Freddie Freeman, on the Atlanta Braves 10-day disabled list since 5/18 with a left wrist fracture, is scheduled to play his second rehab game with Gwinnett tonight.
