3 Envirnment/Challenges The CBSA prt infrastructure is suffering frm rust-ut and building fatigue; Since 2000 the Agency has invested ver $300M t mdernize and imprve the infrastructure at prts f entry acrss Canada Investment has been fcused n the large vlume prts f entry with an emphasis n the Designated Cmmercial Offices (DCO); The majrity f the CBSA s larger DCO prts have been, r are in the prcess f being redevelped and are functinal and prvide adequate serviceability; The challenge is t sustain the peratinal integrity f the existing facilities while securing the capital resurces required t address thse facilities that can n lnger efficiently and effectively supprt the CBSA s brder services mandate. 3

4 Current Prjects Laclle Cnceptual Design Laclle POE Travellers BtB Initiative: The new POE will have 15 travellers PIL 13 regular lanes and 2 NEXUS lanes, an increase frm the current 9 Lanes: Cnstructin award anticipated in February 2016, with prject cmpletin targeted fr Octber 2017 Our primary gal will be t increase traveller capacity t reduce brder wait times Cmmercial Examinatin Facility Gateways and Brders Crssing Fund (GBCF) Initiative The new cmmercial inspectin facilities will include 6 fflad examinatin bays, alng with expanded ffice and enfrcement capacity. The cmmercial facilities are scheduled t be cmpleted by September 2015 Laclle Cmmercial 4

5 Current Prjects Emersn and Nrth Prtal Nrth Prtal New Land acquired Expanded Cmmercial Expanded Queuing Emersn BtB Initiative: Cnstructin f dedicated Cmmercial By-Pass lane; Cmmercial lane t have 3 PIL bths f which ne will be a dedicated FAST The RFP t engage an architect t prepare plans and specificatins was psted in February, 2015; Prject cmpletin scheduled fr 2017 Nrth Prtal - BtB Initiative CBSA has secured the additinal land required t implement the prject; The RFP t engage an architect t prepare plans and specificatins is expected t be psted in March, 2015; Prject cmpletin scheduled fr This prject will prvide the fllwing benefits t the current Prt f Entry New Primary canpy t allw cmmercial vehicle access 1 new bi-level primary lane with expanded primary queuing capacity Expanded cmmercial capacity fr 1 fflad 5

6 Current Prjects Aldergrve Cnceptual Design Aldergrve POE Cnstructin phase is underway and temprary PIL lanes have pened; Travellers facility scheduled t be cmpleted in January 2016; Occupancy f the cmmercial facility and prject cmpletin scheduled fr April 2016; The new POE facilities will include: 5 Travellers Primary Inspectin Lanes (PIL) -Current facility has 3 PIL lanes; 2 Cmmercial PIL lanes; NEXUS; Cmmercial fflad examinatin facility Currently: the fundatins are cmpleted, the slab is being pured, framing has begun 6

7 Small Prts Infrastructure Replacement Initiative Willw Creek POE Mnchy POE Prt replacement prjects in Crnach, SK and West Pplar, SK are substantially cmplete and currently peratinal Prt replacement prjects are underway in Mrses Line, QC, Mnchy, SK and Willw Creek, SK; Willw Creek - Mdular unit was delivered in December 2015 Finishing wrk has begun Canpy has just been erected Expected ccupancy in the Summer 2015 Mnchy - Fundatin fr the PIL bth has been pured and the mdular unit interir finish wrk has begun Expected ccupancy in the Summer 2015 Mrses Line Prt is being replaced in cnjunctin with the remte technlgy prcessing prject 7

8 St. Lenard POE Replacement USA New lcatin CBSA t acquire the adjacent land frm PWGSC and cnstruct a new POE using the mdular units frm Crnwall, ON Current site 1 Primary lane fr travellers nly Clients must crss ncming traffic New Site 2 Bi-level lanes fr traveller and cmmercial vehicles Added lane technlgy will increase prcessing capacity Timelines Cmpletin Fall

9 Current Prjects PAC Fixed Large Scale Imaging The Agency is investing in a statinary X-ray unit that will increase the prcessing capacity Examinatins will be expedited with this new technlgy Prject t be tendered April 2015 Anticipated cmpletin Fall 2016 LSI 9

10 Recent Gvernment Annuncements Nvember 24, 2014 annuncement f $440 Millin t expedite the replacement f brder infrastructure This funding will build n wrk recently cmpleted and currently underway t imprve brder infrastructure at several Prt s f Entry Bundary Bay, (Tsawwassen) BC; Bissevain, MB; Sprague, MB; have been annunced t date. Further annuncements will be cming in the weeks and mnths ahead 10
