Prject Presentatin with Q&A Nadia presented the prject using PwerPint n tw mnitrs, and reerring t tw large prject exhibits displayed n easels. The prject limits are alng Middleield Rad rm Jennings Lane t Ravenswd Avenue (at City Bundary with Menl Park). 2 Can we add a sign t use pedestrian path crssing Middleield n Oak Grve? This is a little scary t crss by bike. Oak Grve was kind a kludge. The Oak Grve prject was anticipating ur prject. A bike bx might be added i City Cuncil apprves it, but previusly Cuncil recmmended t remve bike bxes. Hw will asphalt be widened? It varies as an example, near James is a 3 widening rm the edge the existing pavement. This has n impact t trees. We have a cncern at James gate: There is n crsswalk. Residents try t keep kids rm crssing here. Can we add signs saying nt t crss? Nearest existing crsswalk is 00 t the nrth at Watkins, existing cnditins alng James make it diicult t add receiving lcatins r crsswalks acrss Middleield at this lcatin. We have a cncern r the number children wh are nt advanced bikers. Educatin can help. This may be dne twice a year by the schl. Fr the Menl Athertn High Schl (M A) schl expansin, they cmmitted t prviding bike/pedestrian educatin, but it really hasn t happened yet. Twn will crrespnd with schl t ntiy them this cncern. Is there any plan t imprve the dirt path? The current plan des nt include this type imprvement. We culd cnsider an imprvement that includes decmpsed granite (DG), but the Twn Athertn has traditinally preerred a rural eel. It was suggested r the resident t advcate r this at the next City Cuncil Meeting. A 2 stage queue seems uncnventinal. 2

3 Resident asked abut ptential cnsideratin bicycle signal heads. Drivers can smetimes nt understand new types striping. The cmmunity has bserved drivers nt llwing/understanding the striping. We need educatin. These might help: liers, invitatins t the twn t educatinal pprtunities, newsletter updates in The Almanac, and input rm the bike cmmittee. Have yu cnsidered signal phasing r pedestrian nly scramble phase during peak hurs? Gd places r this wuld be: Menl Athertn High Schl, Oak Grve. There are lts ast cars. Like the prpsed imprvements alng Middleield at Marsh. The area at Lindenwd can be dicey. What is the psted speed limit? There are 2 psted speed limits n the crridr: 30 mph and 3 mph t the suth Ringwd. Athertn will need t crdinate with Menl Park Parents want kids t ride the radway, behind the trees and away rm traic. Cnsider buered bike lanes rm Encinal t Oak Grve. Schedule The next steps are design phases where the prject will be urther reined. Design cntinues thrugh May 2018 Cnstructin wuld ccur in the Summer
