Cnsideratins: MPO staff has received a revised Reginal Radway Netwrk map frm the Lee Cunty MPO which is included as Attachment l. It includes the fllwing change requested by Cllier Cunty Transprtatin Planning Divisin: Livingstn East West (r Veterans Memrial Bulevard) added frm US 41 ver t Livingstn Rd. Changes within Lee Cunty include the additin f Hansn Street (frm US 41 t Ortiz Rd). These tw additins require apprval f the prpsed amendment the existing criteria fr placing radways n the reginal netwrk. The change wuld allw the additin f parallel facilities that relieve cngestin n the reginal netwrk. The existing criteria with changes nted are shwn n Attachment 2. Changes within Lee Cunty als include the deletin f Old Metr in Frt Myers (in blue n Attachment 1.) This is cnsistent with Lee Cunty MPO's plicy established in20l I in the prcess f a cmprehensive update t the reginal netwrk. Old Metr was identified as an interim reginal radway t be remved after the cnstructin f the Metr Parkway Crssver. Attachment 3 is the Jint Reslutin with Lee Cunty MPO adpting the Revised Reginal Radway Netwrk Map. Cmmittee Recmmendatins : The Technical Advisry Cmmittee (TAC) and Citizen's Advisry Cmmittee (CAC) vted t endrse the revised reginal radway netwrk map in April. A planned high pririty parallel facility that will serve as a reliver rad t a heavily used arterial in the reginal transprtatin netwrk. The planned parallel facility may be a new radway, radway extensin, r an existing radway with majr capacity imprvements. The planned parallel facility shall be functinally classified n less than a cllectr in the state database system nce it is built. Ntes: The text in red abve illustrates the prpsed changes 1. The reginal transprtatin netwrk includes bth highway and transit. 2. The reginal facilities in the transprtatin netwrk shall als include appurtenant n-rad bicycle and pedestrian facilities except n interstate highways and ther radways/bridges where such facilities are nt allwed. 3. The reginal facilities in the transprtatin netwrk shall als include appurtenant ITS facilities 4. The reginal transprtatin netwrk als include the Seminle Gulf Railrad crridr within Lee and Cllier Cunties which is currently used primarily fr freight transprtatin. 5. Transit cmpnent f the reginal transprtatin netwrk may nly include LeeTran and CAT fixed rute services, and amenities alng the reginal facilities defined in the transprtatin netwrk. The transit cmpnent shall als include thse new, future fixed rute and premium services, and amenties identified as cst feasible in the MPO Transprtatin Plans, and the transit agencies' Transit Develpment Plans. Premium services may include but nt limited t BRTs, Express Buses, Water Taxis etc. 6. Transit cmpnent shall als include all future passenger, cmmuter, and light rail services and statins identified cst feasible in MPO Tansprtatin Plans 7. Transit cmpnent shall als include bicycle pedestrian facilities within 1/4 mile f Park and Ride facilities, BRT and Rail Stains, Bus r Intermdal Transfer facilities, and Bus Shelters lcated alng the reginal facilities defined in the reginal transprtatin netwrk. 8. The current pathways netwrk which include designated greenways and trail crridrs will be updated sn. Facilities in these crridrs shall include nly shared use paths, trail and greenways unless right f way cnstriants and ther factrs require including n-rad bike lanes and sidewalks in place a shared used apth, trail r greenways in certain crridr segments. All greenway and trail crridrs in Lee and Cllier Cunty that are identified in the District 1 Reginal Trail Inventry Reprt, Lee Cunty Parks and Recreatin Greenways Master Plan, Lee Cunty MPO Cuntywide Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan, and Cllier MPO Pathways Plan. 9. Reginal facilities designated in the Lee Cllier Reginal Netwrk must be in the Federal Aid System. Hwever, exceptins wuld be made t facilities cnsidered a high pririty by at least ne f the MPOs, in which case such facilities wuld carry a label in the map saying "Nt included in Federal Aid System"
