8 Web Site: Governor, Walt Jenkins, announced that we had 23,896 hits for the month of May. He announced that he had updated the website with all of the pictures that he had for the entire year of 2007 including car shows, autocrosses, Fun-in-the-Sun, race results, although the very latest Summer Solstice autocross results hadn t been posted at that time. Walt also asked if anyone would be interested in having their Corvette on the website as the new Corvette of the month Fun in the Sun Car Show Old Business Fun-in-the-Sun Car Show: Chairman, Rik Noring Jr. gave a report on the car show which was held on May 12th. There were several people from our club who won trophies. We had anywhere from 55 to 80 cars present at one point. We ended up making around $ The day was beautiful, not to mention all of the different classes of Corvettes. Walt found out that Dick Strauch and Joe Horvath are really perfectionists when it comes to judging cars. They hit him with wear and tears, lint and dust, cat hairs, dirt, grime and everything else you could think of. Fortunately for Walt (after getting over his shock) he realized it was a birthday prank. We would like to thank Ron Garcia s company, Millennium Auto Body as well as Dennis Van Horn s company, Rocky Mountain Rotomilling for donations towards the car show trophies It means so much to our club to help our events be successful! Chris Nordby reported on the Funkhana at the car show. There were a total of 19 teams. Everyone had a great time. The trophies for the Funkhana were donated by Wreckmasters. Congratulations to Hal Tumbleson and his daughter Heather Nordby for getting the fastest time for the man/woman division. Also a big congratulations go to Sean Pazdzior and Chris Nordby for winning the man/man/ division as well as the fastest time of the day!!! Florece and Rik Noring won the woman/man. Chris thanked all of the people who helped with the Funkhana. Don Adametz, Hal & Cindy Tumbleson, Patty Pg. 8 Pg. 25

Special thanks to other people who helped in many different ways with the car show were Walt Jenkins, Karen Jenkins, Sheryl Schubert, Ashley Mess, Sean Pazdzior and especially all of our judges who moved things along VERY smoothly! The CSCC would like to give a huge THANK YOU to Rik Jr. and Florece Noring for offering the Corvette Center, all of their hard work and organization for chairing this event which is bound to keep getting bigger every year. We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to Ric and Sandie Noring! Most of us don t realize this, but Ric & Sandie have been putting on the Fin in the Sun Car Show for many years. They still handle all of the behind the scenes work before, during and after the show, not to mention a lot of the planning, cooking, serving and extreme generosity. They not only offer the Corvette Center for our use but pay for and prepare our lunches. Ric & Sandie are definitely the biggest asset and contributors to make this event so fun, eventful and successful. Thank you both for your generosity! Summer Solstice Autocross; Chairman, Hal Tumbleson announced that the autocross was held May 27th at the Golden State Patrol track.. We had 42 participants. The track was pretty messy on the morning of the race due to the State Patrol doing night maneuvers. Larry Schubert actually tried to join them but needless to say, he was escorted out with lights flashing and sirens blaring. Hal rented a blower to clean the track off and it worked very well. We unexpectedly got a nice tour of Golden because we were looking for the Outback Steakhouse on Saturday night. There were a few non-serious mishaps. Chris Nordby did a couple of 360 s on the dirt but kept right on going, Sean Pazdzior went partly off of the road (backwards) a couple of times and actually got one pretty unmentionable payback (not on purpose, I m sure) from it. Rik Noring Jr. literally SUCKED on one run, although his run was nice and clean. After the autocross, we all went to On the Border Restaurant for dinner and everyone made it home tired but safely. After expenses, we made a grand total of $1, from that autocross. Hal thanked the following people for all Pg. 9

10 who gave their time to help out with this autocross. Thanks to Ashley Mess, Sheryl & Larry Schubert, John Gue, Rik & Florece Noring, Karen & Walt Jenkins, Sean Pazdzior, Don Adametz, Jim & Vickie Fockler, Chris & Heather Nordby, Rob Miskowitch, Cindy Tumbleson and special thanks to Carol and Ralph Johnson, who are from TORCA and helped out from beginning to end. Volunteers help make an event easier and run more smoothly but it takes a great chairperson to make an event such a great success, so THANK YOU for all of your hard work and dedication Hal!!! Club Photos: Chairwoman, Diana Dittman brought an 11 x 14 Picture of the club photo to the club meeting. The picture turned out great, it was a beautiful day and we had 28 cars. Diana thanked Theresa Wildman for taking the picture. Nick Renfro has pictures that you can purchase for $20.00 for an 8x10. She also thanked Bill Porch from Porch Electric who donated the lift truck so that we could get the high shot with the fantastic background and thanked everyone who showed up. Pagosa Springs Car Show: Our new 1st Vice President, Mike Dittman explained the annual Pagosa Springs Car Show and how enjoyable it is. He asked if anyone would be interested in chairing the event. A couple of our newest members, Dick & Jerrie Ary took on the challenge. We would like to thank them so much for volunteering for this event because we were down to the wire and needed someone very quickly. It will be great to have new and fresh ideas but as many of us need to step up to the plate and give them all of the help and support that they need. Even if you are not planning on attending this year. They have never chaired an event so I m sure that they could use a lot of input from other members. Trash Pick Up: Mike Dittman passed around a sign-up sheet for the trash pick-up. For any new members, our club has adopted a section of highway to do trash pick-up on Hwy 85 between mile markers We do find some very interesting things and some members have even been lucky enough to find Pg. 10 ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGION 2007 EVENTS CALENDAR 7-4 Funkhana Keystone Event (Denver Corvette Assn.) Motion approved to spend up to $8, on new club trailer. New Business NCCC News and Updates: Governor, Walt Jenkins announced that he went to the Governors meeting in Grand Junction. He mentioned that Hal was 1st in points but after adding some more points, he has dropped to 6th. Top of the Rockies is leading the region in points with CSCC in second and DTR is third. For men, our club has Hal Tumbleson, Walt Jenkins and Chris Nordby in the top ten spots and for women, Karen Jenkins, Heather Nordby, Florece Noring are in the top 10 with Sheryl Schubert in 16th place and Vickie Fockler is in 17th place. TORCA has signed up eleven members in the last month, so if they haven t passed us yet, they soon might in having the largest club in the region. All of their members are NCCC members where a lot of ours aren t. The cost is only $10.00 a year and you can sign up anytime you want. Walt also mentioned that Larry Morison had noticed several cracks on all four of his rotors at the Fun in the Sun Car Show and the car only has 15,000 miles on it. Walt also noticed that he had a cracked rotor at the Fruita autocross, so he asked that people keep an eye on theirs. President, Sean Pazdzior mentioned that at the last autocross Pg. 22 Pg. 11

12 at the World Arena, he had grazed over the top of a piece of the timing equipment with a cone but he told the story of the autocross that DTR put on at the State Patrol track where Walt decided to go 4-wheeling and actually ran over a timing sensor which, so far is the most expensive trophy that Walt now owns for autocrossing at $ Convention Update: Walt & Karen will be leaving Friday, June 15th, bright and early for the 07 convention. We will have a table, a T.V. and a D.V.D. and Walt will be giving a presentation to the Executive Board along with goody bags. They give the final presentation to the Governors in September and then vote on it. We will know the decision at the November NCCC meeting. 4th of July Parade: Chairman, Pete Olejnik passed around a sign up sheet for anyone interested in participating. Pete doesn t have our line up number yet but will let the participants know when he gets it. Otherwise, just look for all of the Corvettes. The theme this year is One Nation Under God and Pete encouraged people to rev your engines but not to peel out for the safety of the spectators. 4th of July BBQ: Mike & Winnie Bochnak passed around a sign up sheet if you are planning on attending after the parade and also include what type of dish you are planning on bringing. Walt will be putting it up on the website in case you didn t attend the meeting. Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo: Chairman, Ray Pazdzior announced that the Rodeo will be held on Saturday, July 7th. He sent out a sign up sheet. They only allow 10 cars for the event, so if you are interested and there is room left, please contact Ray. Just as the 4th of July parade, they encourage you to rev your engines but no peel outs please. The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. and Ray is looking into a place for lunch afterwards and will get in Pg. 12 Well the month of July will be a busy one for CSCC. We have a couple of parades coming up this months along with some social events. Some good news we now have chair people for all of our CSCC events.
