Rider Craig Williams stated it was his intention to settle in the first four however the gelding missed the start and as a consequence settled at the rear and added the gelding did not appreciate racing inside other runners. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities other than a slow recovery. Olonera - had to be eased when disappointed for a run near the 300m between Diamond District and Cosmic Lights which shifted out to improve its position. Hokkaido - raced wide without cover. Ballybrit - when weakening near the 200m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Diamond District. Weakened in the straight; rider Mark Zahra reported the mare may have come to the end of its preparation. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities other than a slow recovery.

3 Race 5 - Schweppervescence Handicap metres: Kings Command - connections advised would be ridden more forward; slow into stride and settled just worse than mid-field. Domino Vitale - began awkwardly, shifted in and hampered Hipparchus (GB) resulting in Hipparchus (GB) being taken in and inconveniencing See What I Bring. Hipparchus (GB) - hampered at the start. Held up rounding the home turn before gaining clear running passing the 200m. See What I Bring - inconvenienced at the start. Miss It And A Bit - held up approaching the 200m behind weakening runners, before gaining clear running near the 150m. In Fairness - weakened from the home turn; rider Harry Coffey could offer no explanation for the performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow recovery and mild heat stress. Sword Of Justice - rider Damian Lane reported the gelding did not run out the 1600m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities other than a slow recovery. Race 6 - Schweppes Sparkling Handicap metres: Sherlock Holmes (IRE) - began awkwardly. Held up from the 500m until straightening. Valediction (NZ) - began awkwardly. Carlo Bugatti (IRE) - after being caught wide in the early stages was urged to stride forward and take up a position outside the leader near the 1500m. Post Dfrance (NZ) - raced wide without cover. Big Duke (IRE) - disappointed for a run near the 300m between Shikarpour (IRE) and Crediton (NZ), which shifted out to improve its position and then shifted out across the heels of Shikarpour (IRE) to obtain clear running and in doing so touched the heels of Shikarpour (IRE). Morning Sunshine - held up rounding the home turn behind Carlo Bugatti (IRE) however failed to run on in the straight after gaining clear running. Post race endoscopy detected a degree of internal exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage that may have affected the mares racing performance and a veterinary clearance is required prior to racing again. Hursley (NZ) - laid in over the concluding stages.

4 Shikarpour (IRE) - rider Beau Mertens was of the opinion the gelding may be at the end of its preparation. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 7 - Schweppes Indian Tonic Handicap metres: Royal Spinner - began awkwardly and lost ground. Runsati - shifted out after jumping away and made heavy contact with Angry Gee resulting in Angry Gee becoming unbalanced. Angry Gee - became unbalanced after being bumped heavily at the start. Sunday Escape - raced wide without cover. Appalachian Annie - eased away from the heels of Runsati which shifted out slightly at the 150m and then raced in restricted room between that gelding and Sunday Escape. Steadied over the concluding stages to avoid the heels of Sunday Escape which was shifting in under pressure. Crystal Dreamer - rider Andrew Mallyon reported his mount didnt appreciate racing in restricted room. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 8 - Sandwich Chefs Handicap metres: Devils Pinch - just prior to the start being effected, became fractious in its starting stall and was then marginally slow to begin. Lonrockstar - slow to begin. When making ground over the concluding stages was held up and went to the line not fully tested. Rock n Gold - raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Bon Rocket - raced wide without cover. Smart Dart - rider Ben Thompson was fined $400 for breaching the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip eight times prior to the 100m which is three times more than permitted and in assessing penalty Stewards took into account his good record and the amount of whip use in totality. Race 9 - Jacob Schweppe Handicap metres: Winspot - had to be steadied shortly after the start to avoid the heels of Sullivan Bay which began awkwardly and shifted out.

Mossin Around - held up from the 150m and went to the line not being fully tested.
