The Chiefs enter the game after a loss vs. St. Louis (8/26) while the Packers won at Indianapolis (8/26). It marks the second-consecutive season the two clubs have met in the preseason. The 2010 season marked a turning point for the Chiefs franchise as Head Coach Todd Haley s squad turned in a 10-6 record after a 4-12 performance in It marked the best single-season turnaround in franchise history. The Chiefs won the AFC West Championship and earned a home playoff game for the fi rst time since Green Bay fi nished the 2010 regular season with a 10-6 record, good for second place in the NFC North. The Packers advanced to postseason play as a Wild Card team and quickly gained momentum. The club capped the season with a victory vs. Pittsburgh in Super Bowl XLV. QB Aaron Rodgers tallied a passer rating in 2010 while LB Clay Matthews ranked fourth in the NFL with 13.5 sacks. Kansas City ranked in the NFL s top 10 in 10 different categories at the end of the 2010 season. The Chiefs won the league s rushing title, registering 2,627 rushing yards. At home in 2010, the Chiefs gained a league-high 1,463 rushing yards, the third-highest mark in franchise annals. The Chiefs fi nished 11th in the NFL a year ago, allowing 326 total points. Kansas City only allowed its opponents to score on 28.1% of their offensive drives, the seventh-lowest mark in the NFL. CB Brandon Flowers, LB Derrick Johnson and S Eric Berry each returned an interception for a touchdown, the fi rst time the club returned three interceptions for scores since QB Matt Cassel begins his third season at the helm of the offense after garnering a Pro Bowl invite a year ago. RB Jamaal Charles fi nished second in the NFL in 2010 with 1,467 rushing yards to earn his fi rst Pro Bowl invite. WR Dwayne Bowe caught a league-high 15 TDs and was elected to his initial Pro Bowl. On defense, Johnson paced the club with a career-high 147 tackles. 3 VS. CHIEFS HEAD COACH - TODD HALEY Todd Haley was named the 11th head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 6, 2009 and begins his third year leading the Chiefs. Haley enters his 17th season in the NFL in 2011 and his 15th season as an NFL coach after beginning his career as a scouting assistant with the N.Y. Jets in 95. Haley led the Chiefs to a 10-6 record in 2010 after posting a 4-12 mark in 2009 for the best single-season turnaround in franchise history. Kansas City won the AFC West Championship as Haley was named the NFL Coach of the Year by the NFL Alumni Association and the AFC Coach of the Year by the Committee of 101. Haley joined the Chiefs after a two-year stint as Arizona s offensive coordinator ( ), helping the Cardinals reach Super Bowl XLIII as the club won its first division title since 75. He has made playoff appearances with five different NFL teams. He served as passing game coordinator/wrs coach under Bill Parcells with Dallas ( ) after beginning his career under Parcells with the N.Y. Jets ( 97-00). He also served as WRs coach with Chicago ( ). Born on Feb. 28, 1967, Haley grew up in Upper St. Clair, Pa. McCarthy has guided the Packers to three playoff appearances, including a Super Bowl XLV title with a win vs. Pittsburgh. The Packers have ranked in the top 10 in the NFL in total offense in each of McCarthy s five seasons with the club. He was named the Motorola Coach of the Year, matched a Packers franchise record with 13 victories and claimed the NFC North title in McCarthy previously served as an NFL assistant for 13 years, including six seasons as offensive coordinator in San Francisco (2005) and New Orleans ( ). 4 VS KANSAS CITY CHIEFS 2011 GREEN BAY PACKERS Kansas City won the AFC West with a 10-6 mark in 2010, including a 7-1 record at Arrowhead Stadium. Head Coach Todd Haley enters his third season as the head coach of the Chiefs. QB Matt Cassel begins his third campaign leading the Chiefs offense after earning his fi rst Pro Bowl invitation a year ago. Rodgers completed 312 of 475 passes (65.7 pct.) and ranked third in the NFC with 3,922 passing yards for a passer rating, ranking third in the NFL. He tied for third in the NFC with 28 TD passes and ranked second in the NFL with an average of 8.26 yards per attempt. Rodgers led all quarterbacks with 90 completions on 132 attempts (68.2 pct.) for 1,094 yards and nine TDs during the postseason. WR Greg Jennings led the receiving corps with 76 receptions and fi nished fourth in the NFL with 1,265 yards (16.6 avg.). His 12 receiving TDs tied for the most in the NFC. WR Donald Driver caught 51 passes for 565 yards (11.1 avg.) and four TDs. WR James Jones hauled in 50 passes for 679 yards (13.6 avg.) and fi ve TDs.
