Kansas City joins Atlanta, Baltimore and New England as the only remaining undefeated teams at home this season. Kansas City remains atop the AFC West standings after a win at Seattle (11/28) and is aiming to extend its victory streak to three games. Denver is looking to snap a two-game losing streak after suffering a loss vs. St. Louis (11/28). Denver is one of fi ve clubs to face a stretch of three consecutive road games this season. The Broncos begin their three-game road trip on Sunday. The Chiefs are hoping to avenge a loss at INVESCO Field (11/14). KC leads the NFL, allowing a mere 13.4 ppg in its initial fi ve home contests. The Chiefs are the only squad that has surrendered 20 points or less in all of their home contests. KC has the fewest giveaways (8) in the league and currently leads the NFL in rushing (174.3 ypg) and rushing differential (+77.8 ypg). The Chiefs allowed 20 rushing yards, while racking up 270 rushing yards at Seattle (11/28), marking the fi fth time the Chiefs have topped the 200-yard plateau this season. RB Jamaal Charles has 1,021 ground yards, topping the 1,000-yard mark in fewer carries than any other back in KC history. RB Thomas Jones has 9,971 career rushing yards and needs 71 more to become the 25th player in NFL history to hit the 10,000-yard plateau. RBs LaDainian Tomlinson and Fred Taylor are the only active players in that elite club. QB Matt Cassel and WR Dwayne Bowe are arguably the NFL s hottest battery. Cassel threw for a career-high 469 yards and four TDs at Denver (11/14). Cassel registered a 233-yard, four-td performance with a rating at Seattle (11/28), giving him his third straight rating game. He produced 13 catches for 186 yards at Denver (11/14). Last week at Seattle (11/28) he joined WRs Jerry Rice and Jimmy Smith as just the third player since 90 to produce a 13-catch, 170-yard, three-td performance. Against the Seahawks, Bowe (170 rec. yards) and Charles (173 rush yards) became the fi rst pair of teammates in NFL history to register 170+ rushing and receiving yards in the same game. 13 THE LAST GAME Chiefs 42, Seahawks 24 November 28, 2010 Qwest Field 66,370 KANSAS CITY SEATTLE The Chiefs controlled the tempo throughout the day at Qwest Field and tallied a 21-point fourth quarter as they registered a convincing win over the Seahawks. Kansas City held a 41:03 to 18:57 advantage in the time of possession battle and outgained the Seahawks 503 to 288 in total offense. The Chiefs tallied 270 rushing yards and allowed only 20 yards rushing from Seattle. WR Dwayne Bowe tied a career high with 13 receptions, registering 170 receiving yards and three TDs. Cassel completed 22 of 32 passes for 233 yards and tied a career high with four TDs and no interceptions, good for a QB rating. RB Jamaal Charles eclipsed the 100-yard plateau with 22 carries for 173 yards and a TD. Kansas City took a 7-0 lead on the opening drive as Cassel completed four of five passes, including a seven-yard TD pass to Bowe capping a seven-play, 72-yard drive. On the Chiefs second possession K Ryan Succop's 43-yard FG was blocked giving the Seahawks the ball on their own 38-yard line, but Seattle couldn t take advantage. On the Chiefs next possession Seattle CB Kennard Cox blocked P Dustin Colquitt s punt. Seattle S Earl Thomas returned the ball for a TD, tying the game at 7-7. Kansas City answered with a 15-play drive that ate 8:13 off the clock. On third and goal from the one, DT Shaun Smith bulled his way into the end zone as a short-yardage FB to put the Chiefs up Kansas City added to its lead when Cassel found a wide-open Bowe streaking down the right sideline for a 36-yard TD to put the Chiefs up 21-7 with 1:12 left to play in the first half. S Kendrick Lewis recorded his first career interception as he picked off a QB Matt Hasselbeck pass. However a fumble on KC s second offensive play set up K Olindo Mare for a 43-yard FG as time expired in the first half to make the score in favor of the Chiefs. Seattle came out of the gate quickly in the second half as Hasselbeck hit WR Ben Obomanu for a 52 yard gain to the Kansas City 19 yard-line. Hasselbeck then found TE Chris Baker for a 13-yard TD pass making the score It was punt for punt until the Chiefs offense struck again. Facing third and inches from the three-yard line, Charles stiff-armed a Seattle defender and bolted into the end zone to put the Chiefs up with 14:54 left to play. On the Seahawks next drive, LB Derrick Johnson sacked Hasselbeck and forced a fumble that was recoverd by LB Tamba Hali at the Seattle 24-yard line setting up Bowe s third TD catch of the game, a nine-yard strike to put the Chiefs up CB Travis Daniels stepped in front of a Hasselbeck pass for an interception and returned it to the Kansas City 36-yard line. The Chiefs were forced to punt after the takeaway. On the first play after the punt, Hasselbeck connected with Obomanu for an 87-yard TD reception to make the score with 10:16 left in the contest. After the Seattle score, Cassel found TE Tony Moeaki for a six-yard TD, his fourth TD pass of the day, making the final count GAME NOTES WR Dwayne Bowe (14) surpassed E Chris Burford (12 in '62) for the highest single-season TD reception total in KC history.
