Csselton jumped out on top in top of second scoring four runs with big hit being two-out, tworun single by Mike Rose. Le Sueur-Henderson cut mrgin to 4-1 in bottom of third. Csselton put five more runs up in top of fifth to extend led to 9-1 using three wlks, three hits nd hit btter in rlly. Csselton opened up fifth with three stright singles by Jcob Mogen, Sm Schumcher nd Rose, ll who cme round to score long with Alex Jcobson who reched on fielder s choice. I could ve dded few more in re, I suppose, but for some reson I never got to Legion section tournment up t Norrn Css. It ws good run for our Bbe Ruth nd Legion bsebll tems, one we ve become ccustomed to pst few yers. We re getting used to winning in Csselton. I like tht. Our ltest run ws two-plus weeks, but it begn long time go, nd I m not tlking bout lst spring. The secrets to ll our recent success strted with Brent Nelson nd Brndon Smith six or seven yers go t Pee Wee-Rookie level. They lerned how to coch while our kids were lerning how to ply. Th n t ll bout wht we ve done in Csselton, eir. Once upon time, Sm Schumcher nd Mike Rose led pretty good tem from Chffee, coched by good people like Mrk Weber nd Tim Rose nd Roesler brors. We ve benefited, too, from helthy Absrk connection. A lot of Csselton kids got ir bsebll strt out re, including Brndon Rust, who s good s I ve ever seen nd will lwys be one of best ever to come out of Csselton. When you think bout it, run we ve been on pretty impressive. Cught up in numbers gme, Scheer never complined bout h role. Tht s not h style. He kept showing up, plyed hrd nd well when Rdloff needed him, crried equipment to nd from bus more times thn he should hve, styed positive nd sid nd did ll right things. I hve s much respect for Dustin Scheer s I do for ll our or outgoing Legion plyers becuse not only ws he good bsebll plyer, he ws lso gret temmte, nd kids like him re hrd to find se dys. Rdloff tells me he s retiring, which sd. He brought our Legion progrm first bck to respectbility nd n to chmpionship cliber. We hve one of best Legion progrms in Stte of North Dkot becuse we hd Scott Rdloff coching. He will be msed. Nelson will be bck nd Legion job h if he wnts it, which he tells me he doesn t. Our Bbe Ruth tem will contend for stte berth next yer nd whoever steps in t Legion level will be competitive s well.
