Are 3-6 following the All-Star break, 9-15 in July and since reaching their high-water mark of on 6/22 (at NOR)... STARTING A COMMOTION Indy s starters have suffered a loss in five straight games and yielded a 9.68 ERA (33er/30.2ip) over their current sixstart winless stretch... The last member of the rotation to earn a win was Nick Kingham on 7/19 at COL. BRINGING IN THE BACKUP Indianapolis bullpen owns a 2.01 ERA in that same sixgame span, allowing just five ER in 22.1 frames since 7/20. BLAST...OFF ON Josmil Pinto homered to extend the Tribe s streak of one or more opposing HRs to a season-high eight straight games... Opponents have lifted 11 total HR since the beginning of that stretch on 7/18. DOUBLE TROUBLE Both Nevin Ashley and Robert Andino doubled on Friday, giving the Indians lineup a two-bagger in each of its nine games since the All-Star break, and two or more two-base hits in seven of those nine games... Indy has totaled 19 doubles since the break with Ashley becoming the 11th different Indians batter to double in that time. TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE With two double plays by the Tribe s defense last night, Indy has seen 42 twin-killings in just 24 games during July... The offense enters action on Saturday having rapped into 24 DP during the month, while its defense has recorded 18 DP in the same span. Today s Tribe Starter LHP Rafael Perez Current Streak: N/A Perez is making his third appearance (2nd start) with Indy and first against Rochester... The lefty began 2014 with Triple-A Round Rock (3er/3.2ip) but was released by TEX on 4/17... Perez signed with Rojos del Aguila de Veracruz of the Mexican League, where he went 3-5, 3.92 ERA (19er/43.2ip) and 42 SO/8 BB over 10 G (8 GS)... He allowed his lone ER with the Tribe in the first inning of his debut and has since followed with 11.1 consecutive frames without an ER. NAIL BITERS The Tribe dropped a 5-3 final last night and has now seen a league-high 61 of 108 games decided by two runs or fewer... That total includes an IL-leading 40 one-run games. THE GREAT LAM-BINO Andrew Lambo (1-5, R) has hit safely in seven of eight games since returning from the DL on 7/17, going 14-for-34 (.412) with five runs, three doubles, two homers, five RBI and a.444 OBP (2 BB)... Overall, Lambo has contributed to 47 runs in just 34 games with 24 RBI and 23 runs scored. JUNIOR HIGHS Mel Rojas Jr. (2-3, R, RBI, 2 BB) is riding a six-game hitting streak (.364, 8-for-22), has hit safely in 35 of 48 total games (1 pinch run) and has reached base in 41 of 48 tilts... Rojas leads all Tribe batters with his.299 average (46-for- 154) and ranks second on the team with a.403 OBP since making his Triple-A debut on 5/31. A LITTLE SLICE OF NEVIN Nevin Ashley (1-4, 2B, RBI) knocked an RBI double to give the backstop hits in 20 of his 26 total road starts on the year... ALL ABOUT ANDINO Robert Andino (1-5, 2B) boasts hits in 11 of his last 16 games (.290) since 7/8, and his team-high 20 knocks in those 16 games ranks T-8th among all IL batters...
