3 2014 NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS #PACK-THE-VIC With a capacity crowd of 15,250 during its 2014 home finale, the Tribe officially broke the franchise s all-time, single-season attendance record with a grand total of 660,289 fans last season... The club s new attendance mark featured a record-tying eight sellouts on the year, 24 crowds of 10,000 or more patrons and an average of 9,433 fans per game... The Indians began and ended the record-setting year on the high notes of the largest Opening Day crowd in the IL in 2014 (14,004), and the finale ranking as the largest single-game attendance in nearly five years (10/9/09, 15,461). JOE DIRT Indianapolis Indians head groundskeeper, Joey Stevenson, was awarded as both the IL and Triple-A Sports Turf Manager of the Year for the 2014 season... Stevenson and his staff have now taken home both the league and Triple- A honors in three of the previous four years after also claiming the accolades in back-to-back seasons from THE OL PROSPECTOR Baseball America named OF Gregory Polanco (No. 1), RHP Casey Sadler (No. 11) and RHP Nick Kingham (No. 20) to its year-end Top 20 League Prospects list for the 2014 season... The duo of Polanco and Sadler ranked the Tribe as one of only two teams to boast a pair of selections within the list s top 15 players, while the three overall selections were the second-most in the IL behind only the Boston Red Sox s four honorees. ALL WE DO IS WIN The Indianapolis Indians ranked second in the International League West Division last season with an overall record of The Tribe has now posted a winning mark in four consecutive seasons for just the fifth such stretch in franchise history... Indy s current run trails only a six-year span with winning records from and sevenseason streak from MILES OF MILESTONES The Tribe paced its winning season by notching the first 5-0 start of the Victory Field Era (1996) and tying the 1959 squad for the best 10-game start in recorded team history at In addition, the Indians held a share of first place in the IL West through all but one of the first 106 games, turned in a fourth straight top-two finish within the division and notched their 11th consecutive season with a.500 or better home record at Victory Field. HE S THE DEAN Manager Dean Treanor returned to the helm as just the eighth skipper to pilot the Club through four or more seasons... He earned his 300th victory on July 20th - the seventh team skipper to accomplish the feat - and his current record of ranks first among Tribe managers in the 300-win club (.551 win pct)... Overall, Treanor ranks sixth among team managers in all-time victories. HOUSE THAT MILEY BUILT Treanor s overall mark with the Indians includes posting a winning record in 2011 (76-68), 2012 (89-55), 2013 (80-64) and 2014 (73-71)... With the impressive feat, Treanor joins Dave Miley ( ) as the only two managers to lead the franchise to a winning record through four consecutive seasons. WE LOST SO MANY GOOD MEN OUT THERE... Team captain Matt Hague, who is one of just four players voted as a two-time team MVP, (likely) concluded his outstanding, four-year career with the Tribe following his waiver claim by Toronto on Aug Rightfully dubbed The Hit Collector, Hague departed from the Indians as the all-time Victory Field Era (1996) leader in career games (467), at-bats (1767), hits (510), runs (230), doubles (103), homers (38), RBI (264), walks (190) and total bases (739). POLANCO WAS REDONK-O Phenom and Pittsburgh s top prospect entering the 2014 campaign, Gregory Polanco, fit the billing of his preseason hype by concluding his original Triple-A stint (thru June 9) ranked first among all IL batters in runs scored (47), hits (86), triples (T-1st, 5), extra-base knocks (29), RBI (49) and total bases (134)... The five-tool farmhand hit.346 (86- for-248) in that stretch to rank second in the league behind eventual IL MVP, Steven Souza Jr. (.371). IT S NICK S KINGDOM, WE RE JUST LIVING IN IT Righty Nick Kingham burst onto the Triple-A scene by whiffing eight batters over seven scoreless innings in his debut on June 13 vs. Durham, a showing which featured the most strikeouts for a Tribe Triple-A debut since Phil Irwin s 8 SO/4.0 IP on Aug. 8, 2012 at Syracuse... The 22-year-old Kingham continued his dominance to finish the season ranked first in the IL in average against (.213), tied for second in WHIP (1.10), fourth in innings (88.0) and tied for sixth in strikeouts (65) since his debut. THE FOUR TRIBESMEN For the second consecutive season, the Tribe paced all IL Clubs with its four selections to the Triple-A All-Star Game... Indianapolis 2015 class for the Midsummer Classic in Durham, NC included OF Chris Dickerson, DH Matt Hague, LHP Andy Oliver and RHP Casey Sadler, with Hague also receiving an invite to participate in the annual Home Run Derby... Dickerson earned his selection by ranking second in the IL in on-base percentage (.404) and sixth in average (.315) prior to the break; Hague led the league with 56 RBI; Oliver registered the second-best average against (.156) and strikeouts-per-nine innings (12.23) among IL relievers; And Sadler ranked second in the league in ERA (2.10) and third in WHIP (1.03) SEASON IN REVIEW 3

4 2014 NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS HAMMERIN HAGUE Hague advanced to the semi-finals of the Home Run Derby after receiving last-minute eligibility for the contest when he was optioned from an MLB stint with the Pittsburgh Pirates... The two-time Tribe MVP departed from the big league club, caught a flight to Durham, and after arriving just in time for warmup swings in the cages, lifted six homers out of DBAP, one of which hit the famed Durham Bull target over the left field wall. PITCHERS ARE PEOPLE TOO Starter Vance Worley delivered a performance for the ages against his former Lehigh Valley team on June 8 at Coca- Cola Park... Making his final Triple-A start of the season, Worley allowed just two runs in eight innings of work on the mound, while also going a perfect 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI at the plate... His outing was the first homer from an Indians pitcher since Mart McLeary s solo shot on Aug. 3, 2007 at Louisville and first multi-rbi game from a Tribe hurler since Eric Hacker (3 RBI) on June 18, Even more impressive, no Indians pitcher had previously recorded a three-hit game, dating back to SHOUTOUT TO THE SHUTOUT Right-hander A.J. Morris and southpaw Adam Wilk each tossed their first career nine-inning, complete-game shutout while pitching with the Tribe in LESS IS MORRIS Triple-A rookie Morris blanked the Durham Bulls on six hits with one walk and seven strikeouts during his Victory Field debut on June Morris gem marked the first such shutout by a Tribe hurler since Jo-Jo Reyes on May 7, 2012 vs. Lehigh Valley, and just the Indians eighth overall at Victory Field. WHERE THERE S A WILK, THERE S A WAY In his first season since pitching overseas in Korea, lefty Wilk authored a five-hit shutout with four strikeouts and just one walk on July 6 vs. Lehigh Valley... Wilk issued his lone free pass with one out in the ninth inning before inducing a game-ending double play to complete his masterpiece. (d AR-)NO HOME RUN FOR YOU! Newly converted outfielder Chase d Arnaud made arguably the catch of the year with his homer-robbing, overthe-fence snag in center field on July 20 at Columbus... The acrobatic grab, which brought back a home run by Matt Carson, was voted as the No. 1 play on SportsCenter s Top 10 Countdown and as No. 3 on Fox Sports Live s The 1. INDIANS PLAYER AWARDS Gregory Polanco (Most Valuable Player), Jaff Decker (Best Defensive OF), Brent Morel (Best Defensive INF), Andy Oliver (Henry Smock Relief Pitcher) and Casey Sadler (Starting Pitcher of the Year) were each recognized for their season-long success at the Player Award Ceremony during the regular-season home finale on Aug. 30. MOST VALUABLE POLANCO The Triple-A rookie Polanco embodied the award as the team s Most Valuable Player, leading the Tribe to 42 of its 73 total victories and a overall record while on the active roster... He earned the Tribe s Player of the Month Award in April and is currently the only player in team history to win two IL Batter of the Week titles in the same season (April 14, May 19). THE D IN DECKER Decker captured the accolade as the Best Defensive OF after appearing in 25 more games and 173 more innings than any other Indians outfielder this season... Along with recording a solid.989 fielding percentage, Decker also ranked second in the IL by throwing out a team-high 15 runners from the outfield (5-2B, 4-3B, 6-Home). MORE-L GLOVEWORK Morel committed just one error in his first 42 games and a mere nine miscues overall in 212 total chances as the Indians Best Defensive INF... He ranked sixth among IL third basemen in assists (157), seventh in total chances, tied for seventh in double plays and ninth in putouts (46). SINISTER CLOSER In his first season exclusivity in relief, Oliver led the Tribe and ranked ninth in the IL with 13 saves in 16 opportunities last year... The southpaw led all league relievers with a.157 average against and was tied for second with his strikeouts-per-nine innings ratio. BACKIN THE SADLER Starter of the Year Sadler went 11-4 with quality starts in a team-best 14 of his 21 total assignments... He concluded his first full season at the Triple-A level ranked second in the league in WHIP (1.19) and baserunners-pernine innings (10.97) and third in both ERA (3rd, 3.03) and walks-per-nine innings (1.66) Indians Award Winners Season Award Player Stats Month Award Player Stats MVP Gregory Polanco.328 Avg, 7 HR, 51 RBI Defensive OF Jaff Decker.989 Fld Pct, 15 OF Assists Defensive INF Brent Morel.963 Fld Pct, 17 DP Relief Pitcher Andy Oliver 13 SV, 2.53 ERA, 85 SO Starting Pitcher Casey Sadler 11-4, 3.03 ERA, 77 SO April (24 G) Gregory Polanco.400 Avg, 12 XBH, 25 RBI May (24 G) Chris Dickerson.364 Avg, 11 XBH, 19 runs June (28 G) Matt Hague.259 Avg, 5 HR, 24 RBI July (28 G) Chase d Arnaud.297 Avg, 7 XBH, 15 runs Aug.
