RHP Reynaldo López, who limited the Yankees to one run on four hits over 7.0 IP on 8/7 at Guaranteed Rate Field, is scheduled to start for the White Sox. The Sox are 4-2 on the trip to Detroit (3-1) and New York-AL (1-1), outscoring the opposition by a margin. Following tonight's game, the White Sox return to Chicago for a 10-game, 11-day homestand vs. Boston (8/30-9/2), Detroit (9/3-5) and the Angels (9/7-9). The Sox went 3-2 on their last homestand vs. Kansas City (2-1) and Minnesota (1-1) from 8/ TONIGHT'S STORYLINES The White Sox are in position to record their fifth straight series victory on the road, a feat they have not accomplished since 9/30/04-4/24/05 (also fi ve). The Sox also are looking for their fi rst-ever series win at new Yankee Stadium and first in New York since 2005 when they won two of three games at old Yankee Stadium. The White Sox starting rotation owns a 2.30 ERA (8 ER/31.1 IP) over the last fi ve games. Yolmer Sánchez has reached base safely in a career-high 16 consecutive games. Adam Engel is batting.410 (16-39) over his last 11 games Omar Narváez is hitting.362/.447/.572 (50-138) with six home runs and 21 RBI over his last 46 (since 6/7). LAST NIGHT'S RECAP Pinch-hitter Neil Walker hit a game-ending homer off Dylan Covey with one out in the ninth inning as the Yankees rallied from a four-run defi cit to defeat the White Sox, 5-4. The Sox built a 4-0 lead on an Avisaíl García RBI double in the fi fth, and a Yolmer Sánchez RBI single and Nicky Delmonico two-run double, both in the sixth. James Shields, making his 400th career start, allowed two runs on four hits over 5.2 IP Jace Fry retired all four batters faced for his 14th hold, but Juan Minaya gave up a game-tying, two-run homer to Aaron Hicks in the eighth. WINNING WAYS The White Sox are 10-4 since 8/14, tied with the Yankees and Tampa Bay for the second-best record in the majors behind St. Louis (10-3) they are 8-4 so far during a stretch of playing 20 straight days from 8/17-9/5. The Sox have gone since 8/2, moving from 9.0 games behind Detroit to within 1.0 game of the Tigers for third place in the American League Central. The White Sox have won four of their last fi ve road games and 10 of 13, their best 13-game stretch away from home since 6/30-7/30/15 (11-2). ON THE AIR Ken "Hawk" Harrelson, who is in his 33rd and fi nal season in the White Sox TV booth, will fi ll in for Jason Benetti on Friday's game vs. Boston. RODÓN CONTINUES HIS ROLL Carlos Rodón is 5-0 with a 1.72 ERA (11 ER/57.2 IP) and.141 (27-191) opponents average over his last eight starts since 7/11 his 1.72 ERA during that span ranks fi fth in the majors. Rodón has made nine straight quality starts while allowing fi ve hits or less, the longest such streak by a Sox pitcher since at least 1908 (Baseball Reference). POWER AND SPEED Tim Anderson (17 HR/25 SB) is one of five players in the major leagues this season with at least 15 home runs and 25 stolen bases, joining Mookie Betts, Starling Marte, José Ramírez and Trea Turner. Anderson is looking to join Alex Ríos (2010) and Tommie Agee (1966) as the only players in White Sox history to record 20-plus homers and 30-plus steals in one season. ABREU'S HISTORIC RUN José Abreu is attempting to join Joe DiMaggio ( ) and Albert Pujols ( ) as one of three players in major-league history to begin his career with at least fi ve consecutive seasons of 25-plus home runs and 100-plus RBI. Abreu was on pace for 29 homers and 102 RBI before being placed on the 10-day disabled list on 8/22.
