RHPs Reynaldo López (1-4, 3.80) and Lucas Giolito (3-6, 7.53) are the scheduled starters for the White Sox, who have lost 13 of their last 15 road games. The Sox won two of three games from Milwaukee last weekend, including a 6-1 victory on Sunday. Following this three-game series, the White Sox conclude the trip with three games at Boston (6/8-10) before returning home for seven games vs. Cleveland (6/11-14) and Detroit (6/15-17). The Sox went 1-5 on their last trip to Detroit (1-2) and Cleveland (0-3) from 5/ TODAY'S STORYLINES The White Sox begin a stretch where they play 21 games in 20 days from 6/5-24 they also are in the middle of a stretch from 5/25-6/10 where they play 13 of 16 games on the road. The Sox have lost seven of their last eight games vs. Minnesota and six of their last seven at Target Field. The White Sox bullpen has allowed two runs on four hits in 11.2 IP over the last three games (1.54 ERA) and owns a 2.47 ERA (13 ER/47.1 IP) over the last 15. Daniel Palka is hitting.346 (9-26) with three home runs and six RBI over his last eight games. José Abreu has 30 RBI in 37 career games at Target Field. ROSTER MOVES The White Sox have recalled C Kevan Smith from Class AAA Charlotte and have added RHP Juan Minaya from Charlotte to serve as the 26th man for today's doubleheader. The Sox yesterday reinstated INF Matt Davidson (back spasms) from the 10-day disabled list and optioned C Alfredo González and INF Matt Skole to Class AAA Charlotte. SUNDAY'S RECAP Pinch-hitter Daniel Palka broke a 1-1 tie with a go-ahead, tworun home run off Matt Albers, and Adam Engel followed with a solo shot off Albers as the White Sox won the deciding game of the series, 6-1, vs. Milwaukee. Dylan Covey, a former fi rst-round draft pick of the Brewers, posted a no decision, allowing one unearned run on four hits with seven strikeouts over 5.0 IP to lower his ERA to Luis Avilán (0.2 IP), Chris Volstad (0.1), Joakim Soria, Jace Fry and Chris Beck (1.0 apiece) combined for 4.0 scoreless IP in relief, with Volstad earning his fi rst win of the season. Alfredo González recorded his fi rst major-league hit, a gametying single off Brent Suter in the fi fth inning. SOX SELECT MADRIGAL AND WALKER The White Sox selected INF Nick Madrigal from Oregon State with their fi rst pick (fourth overall) in the First-Year Player Draft. Madrigal, a 21-year-old junior, is batting.406 (54-133) with seven doubles, four triples, three home runs, 32 RBI, 32 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, a.470 on-base percentage,.586 slugging percentage and fi elding percentage in 32 games for No. 3 Oregon State this season. The Sox drafted OF Steele Walker from Oklahoma with their second-round pick (No. 46 overall) Walker, the No. 30 overall prospect according to MLB Pipeline, hit.352/.441/.606 (76-216) with 13 homers, 53 RBI and 48 runs scored in 54 games as a junior he led the Sooners in virtually every offensive category. LET'S PLAY TWO The White Sox are playing their second doubleheader of the season the Sox split a twinbill on 4/28 at Kansas City, winning the opener, 8-0, before dropping the nightcap, 5-2. The Intimidators are a SAL-best (.642) in Jirschele's second season at the helm. WHITE SOX VS. MINNESOTA The Twins lead the season series, 4-1, winning three of four games at Guaranteed Rate Field from 5/3-6 after winning on 4/12 at Target Field (last three were PPD). REMEMBERING SNOW DAYS The fi nal three games of the series between Chicago and Minnesota from 4/13-15 at Target Field were postponed due to rain, snow and blizzard conditions. According to Elias, the three straight postponements were the most in the major leagues since Seattle and Cleveland endured four in a row in April The last time the White Sox had three consecutive games postponed was 9/12-13/08 (included makeup game and DH). LOOKING FOR CENTRAL COMMAND The White Sox are 7-14 against the American League Central in 2018, going 1-6 at home and 6-8 on the road. Chicago has lost 14 of its last 19 games vs. the AL Central, and is in its last 44 road games against the division. The Sox are vs. the AL Central since 2009, posting a losing record every season except 2012 (37-35). ON THE FARM Class AA Birmingham OF Eloy Jiménez has been named Southern League Player of the Month for May Jiménez, 21, batted.374 (40-107) with 11 doubles, one triple, six home runs, 25 RBI and 17 runs scored over 26 games. Class AAA Charlotte OF Jacob May has been named International League Player of the Week for the period of 5/28-6/3 May batted.429 (12-28) with one home run, fi ve RBI and six runs scored in seven games last week. 30/30 THREAT SS Tim Anderson (11 HR/12 SB) is one of three players in the major leagues this season with at least 10 home runs and 10 stolen bases, joining Boston's Mookie Betts (17/13) and the Angels Mike Trout (19/13). Anderson is on pace to record career highs with 32 homers and 35 steals the 32 home runs would be the most by a shortstop in Sox history, and the 35 steals would be the most since Ozzie Guillén in 1989 (36). STOP! THIEF! The White Sox lead the major leagues with 50 stolen bases this season and rank third with an 82.0 (50-61) success rate. The Sox are on pace to steal 145 bases this season, which would be three less than their combined total of 148 from they have not led the majors in steals since 1966 (153). TRIPLE THE FUN The White Sox lead the American League and rank fourth in the majors this season with 18 triples the Sox led the AL with 37 triples last season, their highest total since 1999 (also 37). Yolmer Sánchez is tied for the major-league lead with six triples in 2018, and Daniel Palka is tied for 12th with three.
