The board has declared this year the Year of the Rubber Ducky, so once a month the first 20 people through the door will receive a themed rubber ducky, and once a month there will be a gift certificate for one free entrance to a dance, to be won during the 50/50. This year, and hopefully every year, Quicksteppers will be donating $ to Ronald McDonald House.. actually this year it will be $ because Joyce Shannon donated her 50/50 winnings back to CQ s for this charity. We would also like to collect toiletries for Ronald McDonald House, the miniature size that hotels supply in the bathroom, so, if you stay in a hotel, please collect the samples and bring to Quicksteppers. John Swanson is a volunteer at Ronald McDonald, and he will be only too happy to make the delivery. Once again we had good attendances for our dances in May and June: May 3, Black and White Ball with Evelyn and Denny, May 17 Cowgirls Rule with Tina and Jeanette, May 31 Flower Power with Mike and Joyce, June 7 Polka Dots with Diana and Tina, and June 21 Sweet Dreams with the DJ Duke, Gary Clayton. Coming up: July 5, Red, White and Blue with Millie Dusha, July 19 DJ and Teacher Appreciation with DJ Jamie Hogan, August 2, Hawaiian Hustle with the DJ Duke, Gary Clayton, August 16 Hot August Nights with free Root Beer Floats, DJ s Evelyn and Denny, and August 30 Rumble in the Jungle with Tina and Jeanette. quicksteppers@yahoo.com Website: countryquicksteppers.org Thanks to those of you that took the time to fill in the ballots for the 2014/2015 board; we have one new board member and that is Betty Ma who took over Membership from Marcie. Marcie is a very busy lady, she not only has a full time job, but is now President of Boots n Buckles, a very challenging job. Betty is no stranger to the board, she was Treasurer prior to Jeanette, so we welcome Betty back. I would like to take this opportunity of thanking all the wonderful board members for their support and help, and we look forward to another successful year. I think most of you heard about Dolores, our very talented decorator.. Dolores was on her way to Boots n Buckles and was involved in a minor car accident, however, the seat belt tightened and broke her sternum, unfortunately she will be out of action for a while. We wish Dolores a speedy recovery, and look forward to seeing her on the dance floor very soon. If you haven t renewed your membership, please do; we have 10 new members already, and if you re not one of them, please join the Club with a heart where we DANCE for the health of it.
