Thanks to you, 2018 was another very successful year for CQ s, so let s try and make 2019 as good as, if not better. Our Gold Star Glitz at the Ritz was a HUGE success thanks to the Decorating Divas, our super board, and our DJ s for the evening, Mike and Joyce, who played all our favorite dances and included buckle polishers for the couples. We had a few new faces in attendance, and some non-dancing husbands who looked as if they were having a good time too. Thanks once again to our anonymous donor, whose donation allows us to keep the price of admission so low. We are a lucky Club. Unfortunately you won t receive this Shooter before our first dance for 2019 on January 5.. Baby Face is the theme, and the DJ s are Jeanette and Bernie. This theme allows the Decorating Divas to have a well earned rest. Saturday, January 19: Doug and Jackie s You Can Dance 7 one day Workshop. There is still time to register by downloading the form from our website: I think all of you know who Doug and Jackie Miranda are, they are the organizers of the Vegas Dance Explosion, and are also owners of The Grand Majestic Theater in Pigeon Forge, and are producers and directors of the Soul of Motown, America s Hit Parade, and the Hazard Show, so it s a real treat to have them here in the Bay Area. Registration starts at 11:00 AM, and there will be some open dancing before the Workshop starts at 12:00 PM; there will also quicksteppers@yahoo.com Website: countryquicksteppers.org be open dancing throughout the afternoon in between teaches. Beginner and high beginner 12:00 1:30 PM, Intermediate and high Intermediate 2:00 5:00 PM. Cathy and Claudio Dacumos will be DJ s during the Workshop. Our regular dance starts at 7:00 PM with the DJ Duke, Gary Clayton. There will be free snacks and water all day. So, put pen to paper and register. By-the-way, Doug and Jackie s Soul of Motown will be appearing at the Westgate Resort and Casino on January 29, 30, 31 and February 1, 6, 7, 8 and 9, so if anyone is thinking of going to Vegas during those dates, please go and see Soul of Motown, you won t be disappointed. February 2: Girls Rule with DJ s Van and Celia. February 16: Red, Red, Red with DJ s Mike and Joyce. Our Bake-off this year is on Saturday, March 2nd; there will be two categories Cakes and Cookies, so start thinking about it now. This is something we all should remember: Nobody cares if you can t dance well, just get up and dance. Country Quicksteppers, the Club with a heart, where we dance for the health of it.
