Box 4966 Foster City, CA A note from Anni: Anni Wunderlich, President Hi Everyone: Richard and I were in Turkey and Greece, so unfortunately missed the Whipper Snappers dance on August 2, with the King, NEIL Hale; BUT, according to John Swanson (Vice President extraordinaire, and my twin cousin), it was indeed a great dance, thanks to Neil for keeping the floor filled. Too bad there was only one Whipper Snapper, what are we becoming, a bunch of old farts? Oops! Gary has been absent for a while due to knee surgery, but I want you to give him a HUGE Quicksteppers welcome back. As you know, we all enjoy socializing in the snack room, especially when there are snacks to enjoy. you know what I mean, don t you? Yep, please bring some. Our 21st BIRTHDAY BASH is on September 6; it s a pot-luck dinner, so, if you bring a dish to share, you get in FREE. The King, NEIL Hale will be DJ, assisted by Princess Linda. Doors open at 6:15 PM, dinner from 6:30 7:15, dance 7:30 PM. Back to the Fifties is the theme. JAMIE s back on September 20.. Yippee! August 16 was our Hot August Nights with DJ s EVELYN n DENNY. I received some very positive comments about this dance, and about Evelyn n Denny. Everyone seemed to enjoy the root beer floats that my twin, Sara and I, oh and also my twin cousin, John, scooped up for all. This is always a popular dance; see photos on page 4. Glitz at the Ritz Goes for the Gold (or silver or bronze). Flyers and sign-up sheets will be available very soon, Cathy is working on them as I type. There will be prizes, surprises, dancing and a super floor show. This night enables every-one to dress in their finest, and the food is always outstanding. DJ s, Evelyn n Denny. What does this say about the demographics of our club? Come on folks, lets get some new blood in here. Encourage your younger friends and family members to take up Line Dancing. For proof that dancing really does keep us looking and feeling young, see the picture below right. Tom & Rita Garcia celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary at the Aug 2 dance...it s hard to believe they could be old enough to be married that long, unless they got married at age 3!
