During the first prt of the meeting, the 67 students were spoken to by U.S. lmmigrtion uthorities bout the current sttus of lrnin students ttending school in the United Sttes. After the discussion, the lrnins were interviewed nd their pssports nd l94 forms were checked. Those students found in violtion of their l94's were sked to ttend further meetings nd fce possible deporttion. According to Dr. Lsher, Associte Den of Admissions nd Records. the meeting ws stged to.ssure our President nd other governm'entl officils tht the students who ttend school here re here leglly nd re here to get n eduction. Lsher lso reveled tht not ll lrnin students were expected to ttend the meeting. "We hve 67 lrnin students on cmpus. Tht's how mny l20's we gve ctully given to students. Tht mens they re fulltime. We hve severl F2's. which re spouses of the t20 students. They my ttend C ty College prtt me if they meet our requirements.'there is no jurisdiction being questioned on those students becuse their sttus is determined ccording to the sttus of their sgouse," he explined. Before the meeting, Lsher sid tht he didn't foresee ny problem with the lrnin students on this cmpus becuse he hs lwys kept close tb on them, reminding them of their requirements. He sid he gives those students who re in violtion verbl nd written wrning s well s n extr semester to mke mends. "lf other involvement on cmpus is stisfctory then we permit tht student to remin on cmpus nother semester. However, ìf tht student hsn't followed through with his commitment by registrtion time, I tell them I'm submitting n l208 to immigrtion, which mens their l20 is no longer vlid t Fresno City College," explined Lsher. He concluded by sying, "l think th s (the vis checking) is something tht should be n ongoing process, on the prt of the lmmigrtion Office, for ll students tht re ' 'here'on l:20's,'not just lrnin students."

They lost the first gme 915, rllied together the second for Rm win, 158, lost the third, won the fourth, nd just filed to pull through once more, losing the fifth gme 1115, ending the close nd hrd fought mtch. They moved on to conquer Modesto JC on October 3 nd rose notch on the ldder with convincing 31 victory mtch. After the Modesto gme the tem experienced slump in their courgeous seson nd lost their next four mtches ginst COS, Cosumnes, Scrmento City, nd their biggest rivl, Reedley, closing the first round of seson gmes with two wins nd five losses. A rejuvented Rm tem rose to fight the tough tem from Americn Rivers when ction resumed, but the strek remined unbroken. FCC flling behind one gme to three.
