18 Area Information Page 2 Rivers and Lakes Lake Hortonia Approximately 480 acres, Lake Hortonia is a fishing destination with state-owned public boat access and shoreline fishing access. Fish species include black crappie, large & smallmouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch, and several trout species. The Lake Hortonia Ice Fishing Derby is one of the largest in the state. Finally, there are no speed or personal watercraft restrictions on the lake. Lake Bomoseen Lake Bomoseen is the largest lake that lies entirely within the state's boundaries, with a surface area of approximately 2,400 acres.
