2 All horses competing in Races 1, 2 and 6 all underwent a veterinary examination after arriving on course and were passes suitable to race. Race 1 - George Taylor Memorial Maiden Hurdle metres: Bonfire (GB) - after negotiating the second obstacle lost its off fore plate. Jumped the last awkwardly, shifted out abruptly and as a result severely hampered All Well (IRE) and Felix Bay. Led and performed below market expectations. Rider Steven Pateman reported the gelding raced with its mouth open and may have a respiratory abnormality. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Space Invader - jumped the third hurdle awkwardly, knuckled on landing and almost dislodged rider Jarrod Lynch. Retired from the event near the 600m and failed to negotiate the final two obstacles. Rider Jarrod Lynch reported the gelding was not suited by the heavy track conditions and the gelding will be referred to the Jumps Review Panel for assessment. Post race endoscopy detected a degree of internal exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage that may have affected the geldings racing performance and a veterinary clearance is required prior to racing again. Like You Look - retired from the event near the 600m and failed to negotiate the final two obstacles. Rider Braidon Small reported the gelding, that was having its first jumps start, jumped carefully throughout after making a mistake early and would be improved from todays experience. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and the gelding will be referred to the Jumps Review Panel for assessment. Hale Soriano (GB) - jumped the second last obstacle awkwardly. Trouble Bound - jumped the second last obstacle awkwardly. Jumped the last awkwardly and lost ground. All Well (IRE) - severely hampered after the last hurdle. Rider Jamie Mott was severely reprimanded under the provisions of LR53A(1)(a)(i) for using his whip for two consecutive strides after passing the 100m. Felix Bay - severely hampered after the last hurdle. Darebin - jumped the last hurdle awkwardly and fell. Cast its off fore plate in running. Rider Martin Kelly was examined by the doctor and passed fit to fulfil his remaining engagements. Martin Kelly reported the gelding, that was having its first jumps start, jumped well throughout however showed a lack of respect for the last hurdle. 3 Sir Walter Scott (IRE) - jumped the second hurdle awkwardly. Hampered when avoiding the fallen rider after jumping the fifth hurdle. Jumped the ninth awkwardly. Big Country - over-raced in the early stages. After jumping the fifth hurdle, knuckled on landing and dislodged rider Paul Hamblin. Paul Hamblin was examined by the doctor and passed fit to fulfil his remaining engagements. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and the gelding will be referred to the Jumps Review Panel for assessment. Hes A Genius (NZ) - jumped the third awkwardly. Performed below market expectations; rider Tom Ryan was of the opinion his mount would be better suited on a firmer track. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Tangara - hampered when avoiding the fallen rider after jumping the fifth hurdle. Knuckled after jumping the sixth hurdle. Jumped the seventh hurdle awkwardly. Marquateer (NZ) - jumped the ninth hurdle awkwardly. Jumped the second last and last hurdles awkwardly. Oerter - jumped the second last hurdle awkwardly. Strike The Stars (NZ) - raced wide through the early stages until obtaining a position outside the leader near the 1600m. Unabashed - rider Steven Pateman was reminded of his obligation under the provisions of AR 137(b) to ride his mounts out fully to the finish. Race 3 - Fishtales Caf Maiden Plate metres: Starsonfortyfive - trainer Jackie Beriman was fined $200 under the provisions of LR27A for failing to lodge a horse movement for the gelding. Downs Road - slow to begin then had to be checked off the heels of Iron Machine, which shifted out on jumping away. Disappointed for a run approaching the 200m. Rider Dean Yendall reported the gelding was fractious in the barriers prior to the start being effected. Pegasus Magic - began awkwardly. Pearl De Vere - restrained from the start. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Speedy Illusion - over-raced in the early stages and got its head up when being restrained to obtain cover. Passing the 400m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Uisce Beatha that was under pressure. Rider Jamie Mott reported the gelding that was racing in blinkers for the first time today, was inclined to over-race. Jamie Mott further stated it had been his intention to settle closer and added his mount failed to finish as expected in the straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

4 Mookcat - over-raced in the early stages. Shifted out on straightening (300m) and as a result bumped Irish Moshe. Irish Moshe - raced wide without cover. Uisce Beatha - raced wide without cover. Rider John Allen reported the gelding pulled hard in the run and for this reason weakened in the straight. Race 4 - Cally Hotel BM78 Handicap metres: Illavaalf - connections advised would be ridden further back; slow to begin and settled at the rear of the field and raced wide without cover before being allowed to stride forward near the 1500m to settle mid-field. Blue Jangles - commenced awkwardly and shifted out bumping Hello My Dear before then being taken in and making contact with Illavaalf. Rider Linda Meech reported the gelding was galloped on behind at the start. Our Lucky Omens - rider Jamie Mott reported the gelding failed to handle the heavy track conditions and was under pressure from the 900m Lord Fandango (GER) - performed below market expectations; rider Jordan Childs reported his mount failed to handle the heavy track conditions. Lost its near fore plate in running. Poppiholla (NZ) - performed below market expectations; rider Dean Yendall reported after commenced awkwardly, the mare was never comfortable in todays heavy track conditions. Aldous - rider Ben Allen reported the gelding was not suited by the heavy track conditions. Race 5 - Callaghan Motors Vobis Gold Strike metres: Blonde Russian - late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 8.59am. Heart Of Eden - stood flat footed and lost ground. Pleasuring - slow to begin. Leilas Star - when racing greenly near the 900m shifted out abruptly resulting in its rider Declan Bates becoming unbalanced. Street Lights - passing the 800m had to be checked and lost its rightful running when Leilas Star shifted in when not sufficiently clear. Sierradora - approaching the 400m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Splashette that shifted in when laying in.

5 Byerley Diva - raced wide without cover. Je Suis Tycoon - inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight. Shes Our Gift - rider Linda Meech reported she got her whip caught in the breastplate approaching and passing the 200m. Pan Jinlian - performed below market expectations; rider Beau Mertens reported the filly, which was having its first race start, was not comfortable in the heavy track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities other than a slower than normal recovery. Declan Bates (Leilas Star) - pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the careless riding being that shortly after passing the 800m he carelessly permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of Street Lights which had to be checked and lost its rightful running. Declan Bates had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight May 4 th and to expire at midnight May 14 th, a total of twelve race meetings (three metropolitan, nine provincial). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account his guilty plea and that the carelessness was in the mid-range. Race 6-3YB Scotty Stewart Brierly Steeplechase metres: Dormello Mo (FR) - jumped the first fence awkwardly. Rider Tom Ryan reported the gelding did not travel well and was under pressure some distance from the finish. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. King Of The Forest - jumped the thirteenth awkwardly and made contact with the wing after jumping the second at the Tozer Road double. Knuckled on landing after negotiating the seventeenth fence. Universal Sound - jumped the sixteenth fence awkwardly and was eased out of the race, failing to negotiate the final three obstacles. Rider Richard Cully reported the gelding hung throughout and was outclassed. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and the gelding will be referred to the Jumps Review Panel for assessment. Mannertone - jumped the last fence awkwardly. Gold Medals (NZ) - jumped the last fence awkwardly and knuckled on landing. Rider Shane Jackson reported the gelding, that was having its first steeple start, would benefit from todays run. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Nishiazabu - jumped the last fence awkwardly. Now And Zen - rider John Allen was fined $400 under the provisions of LR53A(1)(a)(ii) for using his whip eleven times prior to the 100m. Zed Em (NZ) - rider Steven Pateman was fined $400 under the provisions of LR53A(1)(a)(ii) for using his whip eleven times prior to the 100m. Steven Pateman was

Race 7 - Choices Flooring by Swintons BM64 Handicap metres: King Of The Ark - jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and bumped Volcanic Sky. Passing the 400m had to be checked to avoid the heels of Mrs Martin that gave ground quickly. Volcanic Sky - jumped away awkwardly and was then bumped by King Of The Ark. Mrs Martin - raced wide without cover. Rider Ben Thompson reported the filly failed to handle the heavy track conditions and was under pressure a long distance from the finish. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have a very slow recovery and will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. Race 8 - Carlton Draught BM64 Handicap metres: Mandjar - shortly after passing the 800m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Shes Got Magic that shifted in when not sufficiently clear; Nikita Beriman (Shes Got Magic) was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise more care. Save Me Ned - shortly after passing the 800m raced tight to the inside of Mandjar, which in turn had been pressured by Shes Got Magic. Performed below market expectations, rider Linda Meech reported the filly was not comfortable when obliged to race tight inside runners. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Los Cabos - dipped in the going approaching the 600m. Held up and unable to improve its position from the 400m until gaining clear running approaching the 200m. Tactics queried; rider Brad Rawiller stated he was instructed to ride the gelding back in the field to enable his mount to finish strongly. Brad Rawiller added the gelding had performed well when ridden in a similiar fashion in a recent jump out at Burrumbeet. He noted despite his efforts his mount struggled to hold its position through the early and middle stages before finishing well in the straight. His comments were noted. Dexterous - raced wide without cover throughout. Suave Hero - approaching the winning post had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Los Cabos which shifted in. Race 9 - City of Warrnambool Handicap metres: Ormito (GER) - Brad Rawiller was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR120(b) for accepting a ride when found to be overweight and having to be replaced by Jack Hill.

7 Passover (GB) - near the 1100m had to be steadied when tightened for room by Authoritarian (Daniel Moor) which shifted in; Daniel Moor was severely reprimanded and notified to exercise more care. Gallic Chieftain (FR) - passing the 500m had to be checked to avoid the heels of the weakening Authoritarian. Tick Tick Bloom - raced wide without cover. War Story (IRE) - had to be checked near the 300m when disappointed for a run between Passover (GB), which was taken out slightly by Lady Selkirk, and Tick Tick Bloom which was racing tight to the inside of By The Grace. Our Bottino - led before being eased down in the straight; rider Ryan Maloney reported his mount pulled too hard and may have come to the end of its preparation. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Lady Selkirk - rider Ben Thompson stated his mount travelled well however failed to quicken when placed under pressure. Race 10 - Rock and the Warrnambool Greyhounds BM70 Handicap metres: Belaruski - the start of the race was delayed when the mares tongue tie had to be re-applied. The start was further delayed when the mare had to be re-plated behind the barriers. Astrolabe - slow to begin. Near the 50m was obliged to shift in and change course in order to maintain clear running through to the finish. Royal Ace - jumped away awkwardly. Boss Coni - over-raced in the early and middle stages. Raced wide without cover. Rider Linda Meech stated her mount was not suited to be ridden wide. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Ilgattino - disappointed for a run passing the 300m between Boss Coni and Belaruski. Favonski - raced wide without cover.
