1 Mvement fld respnse Fact sheet n January 2011 The fllwing factsheet prvides an verview f the assistance prvided t fld-affected peple up t 5 January by the Pakistan Red Crescent Sciety (PRCS) with the supprt f its Red Crss Red Crescent Mvement (Mvement) partners. The infrmatin presented is based n the reprts shared by all partners and is cmpiled t present the verall achievements accrding t each sectr. Highlights As f 5 January: 2,250,255 peple have received fd and nn-fd items thrugh relief distributins. 194,748 peple have been reached with health services and psychscial supprt. 603,704 peple have benefited frm water and sanitatin services. Winterized transitinal shelter distributin in, as part f early recvery, reaching 45,101 peple. The Mvement cntinues early recvery interventins. 421,260 peple received agricultural assistance material in, and Balchistan. Emergency respnse is still nging in the prvinces f and as large areas remain inundated. The Red Crss Red Crescent Mvement has s far reached 2,250,255 peple with standard fd items and 1,431,129 peple fr nn-fd items. The prgress s far in the relief peratins is represented in terms f peple reached in the fllwing graphs.

2 Shelter 358,465 tarpaulins, 25,483 tents and 66,882 shelter kits have been distributed under the nnfd items relief distributin. This will cater fr emergency shelter needs f the fld-affected peple. The Mvement s winterized shelter distributins is nearly cmpleted in. S far 45,101 peple have been reached. The Red Crss Red Crescent Mvement is prviding emergency and basic health services thrugh 12 health teams in fld-affected areas 1. A ttal f 172,911 peple have been reached in all the fld-affected areas. 1 There were 33 health teams and 4 diarrhea treatment centres at the height f the peratin.

3 Psychscial supprt prgramme (PSP) 2 In ttal 21,837 peple have been reached these cntinue receiving nging PSP supprt, especially in where needs are greatest. PSP activities include infrmal educatin, grup sessins n psychscial educatin, sprts activities, referrals, individual sessins and dealing with the vulnerable. Water and sanitatin Since the start f the peratin, 68,389,726 litres f water have been prduced. T date, water and sanitatin services have benefitted 603,704 peple. The table belw gives an verview f water and sanitatin interventins. Early Recvery The Red Crss Red Crescent Mvement has cmpleted seed, fertilizers and tl kits distributins in, t assist fld affected peple whse livelihdscrps and hmes were damaged in the flds. The assistance is meant t help the fld victims t re-cultivate their agricultural lands fr the nging Rabi seasn. A ttal f 407,260 peple have been assisted with prvisin f seeds, fertilizers and tl kits in and Balchistan. A ttal f 14,000 peple have been reached with prvisin f winter vegetables seeds in.
