1 2019 WINTER SHOW INFORMATION SHEET DRESS REHEARSAL INFO: Dancers shuld wear dance cstumes t class AT THE STUDIO Jan Cmpetitin Teams shuld wear cstumes t chregraphy classes and shuld still bring black dancewear t change int. See chart n PAGE 5 fr tentative cstume infrmatin/accessries. Teachers will clarify details at the dress rehearsal classes nce they see the cstumes in actin. Hair and make-up des nt need t be dne fr DRESS REHEARSAL classes. Hwever, if yu have a hairpiece, it is strngly recmmended that yu put it in fr ur dress rehearsal class t practice and t be sure it stays in during the dance. Tpaz and Quartz d need t wear hairpieces. Dancers need t have make-up in the fllwing clrs fr the actual recitals: taupe/beige shimmery eye shadw, sft pink blush, true RED lipstick, and black eyeliner/mascara. Parents shuld plan t attend a shrt meeting fr the last minutes f class n the dress rehearsal days t discuss the cstumes/hair/etc. fr recital day. THE WINTER SHOW DRESS REHEARSALS WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE STUDIO during regular class times (NOT AT THE SCHOOL)!!! T ensure yur child s safety and a finished lk, please remember t make the necessary alteratins t yur child s cstume PRIOR TO OUR DRESS REHEARSAL CLASSES. Als, remember t hang yur cstume up and take gd care f it. Sme will need t be steamed, irned with a COOL irn, r hung in a steamy bathrm t release the wrinkles they acquired while they were packaged and shipped. Find the apprpriate undergarments t use with yur child s cstume. Dancers shuld wear skin clred underwear r wear tights withut underwear. Older dancers shuld wear a skin clred bra with clear straps. We have a few skin clred letards (t wear under the cstume) available t purchase at the dance studi fr $ If yu wuld like t buy ne check the inventry, r cntact Lucy. RECITAL DAY INFORMATION DANCERS SHOULD BE CHECKED-IN WITH THE VOLUNTEERS BACKSTAGE (in the MONTICELLO HIGH SCHOOL DRESSING ROOMS) minutes prir t the start f each shw. Please see the charts n PAGE 3-4 fr specific arrival times fr each class (shw specific). We staggered arrival times t avid t many peple arriving all at ne time. If yu arrive at yur designated arrival time, it will help ease sme f the cngestin, but be prepared that it will still be crwded and busy! We will begin practice backstage 40 minutes befre the start f each recital. We are having the preschl and K-1 st classes arrive a bit earlier, s they have the chance t g n the stage and see their spts. WE ARE ON A VERY TIGHT TIME SCHEDULE, s it is VERY IMPORTANT that yu arrive and that yur child is prepared t practice with cstume n, hair dne, make-up dne, shes n, stretched, and in the crrect line-up rder, 35 minutes befre shw time! Drs will pen 20 minutes befre shw time (9:40 fr the 10:00 AM shw, 11:40 fr the 12:00 PM shw, and 1:40 PM fr the 2:00 PM Shw). Tickets are assigned seating and shw specific. Please refrain frm using flash phtgraphy at the recital fr the safety f the dancers n stage. Yu may videtape at the Winter Shw! N videtaping will be allwed at the spring recital, s this is a gd pprtunity t take vide f yur child perfrming n stage. In the spring we will hire a prfessinal t recrd the recitals. Park n the WEST side f the Mnticell HIGH Schl (clser t Little Muntain). There will be a basketball turnament ging n in the field huse (n the east side f the building). Dancers shuld g dwn the hall near the west stair case t the DRESSING ROOMS (watch fr signs t direct yu). Recreatinal dancers and sme f the cmpetitin teams will meet in the LECTURE ROOMS. We are hping t als be using anther area this year fr sme f the cmpetitin teams, and the by hip hp class, s watch signs clsely nce yu are in the hallway. T ease cngestin, please send ONE FEMALE PARENT/FRIEND t drp ff and pick up yur child. 1

2 Once yu find the apprpriate dressing rm, please find the sectin f the rm designated fr yur child s class (there will be a sign fr each class). Find the vlunteer fr yur child s grup. Befre leaving yur child, please drp ff yur child s belngings in the designated area, put n yur child s dance shes, use the restrm, and then help the vlunteer put yur child in the crrect spt fr the line-up. Remember these are vlunteers wh may nt knw the names f the dancers very well. At the designated PRACTICE TIME, the dancers will need t g t the practice area with their vlunteers (even if all the dancers have nt arrived). If yu arrive late and yur child s class is nt in the in their dressing rm at their designated space, yu will need t find yur child s class in the LECTURE ROOM (B) where the practice will take place r wait with them at their dressing rm spt. Please keep in mind that if yu are late, yur child will cmpletely miss the chance t run thrugh the rutine during the practice sessin befre ging nt the stage t perfrm. Send a few quiet, clean activities (clr crayns, bks NO MARKERS) in a labeled bag t help entertain yur child while they wait with their grup. Gd idea t send a small blanket/twel t sit n backstage. Yu may send a labeled and sealed water bttle with yur child. This shw is pretty shrt, but if yu feel yur child needs a snack, please send a clean ptin and avid allergen fds (avid nuts/peanut butter). If yur child has an allergy, be sure t let the parent vlunteer and staff knw when yu are drpping ff yur child. Label EVERYTHING yu send with yur child. At the cnclusin f the shw, send ONE FEMALE parent/friend t the dressing rm t pick yur child up. Please make sure yu check in with the vlunteer backstage befre taking yur child. If yu need t enter the auditrium thrugh a limited mbility/handicap dr, please ask fr assistance at the ticket table. Dancers shuld stay in dressing rms when nte perfrming. If yu need t enter r exit the auditrium during the recital, please be curteus and d s between sngs. ALL GROUPS SHOULD WEAR THE FOLLOWING MAKE-UP COLORS: TAUPE/BEIGE SHIMMERY EYE SHADOW, SOFT PINK BLUSH, TRUE RED LIPSTICK, AND BLACK EYELINER/MASCARA. UNLESS SPECIFIED OTHERWISE, HAIR SHOULD BE CURLED, AND PULLED INTO A HIGH PONYTAIL. If yur child wears a hat, the pnytail will need t be lw (at the nape f the neck) and then the hair shuld be parted n the dancer s left side. Otherwise, it shuld be up high n the back f the head. ANY hair accessries SHOULD BE SECURELY ATTACHED TO THE BACK/UPPER RIGHT SIDE OF THE DANCER S HEAD (near the side f the pnytail). See chart n PAGE 5 fr details regarding yur child s cstume.
