2 Dear dancers and parents, Welcme t the Dance With Me family! Whether yu are returning fr anther seasn r a new additin, I am s excited t have each and every ne f yu be a part f this creative cmmunity. This seasn is ging t be different than any previus seasn, but I am cnfident that it will be ur mst fulfilling and successful ne yet! Let me tell yu a little mre abut the seasn. This year, dance classes will be entered int a level system. I have taught n a level system fr the last five years as an instructr fr Jeune Attente Dance Cmpany. In the summer f 2015, my clse friend and fellw dance instructr Alisa Oliver and I created a syllabus t use with ur dancers. This syllabus ensures that every dancer learns age apprpriate skills that set them up t be successful in the next step f their dance jurney. It als gives the instructr a base t begin bth the instructin and creative prcesses. The length f classes are changing slightly this year as well. Fr many years, cmbinatin classes at DWM ffered students the pprtunity t train in ballet, tap, and/r jazz technique while learning tw rutines fr recital. In the past few years, that has changed t learning three recital rutines in ne hur. This year, dancers and parents in levels 4-7 will have the ptin f taking an hur lng cmbinatin class f ballet and tap, r a 90 minute class f ballet, tap, and jazz. A breakdwn f classes and levels is given in this handbk. Many changes are being made this year. I appreciate any and all questins, and I understand that there will be many questins! I truly believe that everything has t revlve arund the dancers. The success rate f each DWM class relies n hardwrk and dedicatin, frm the dancers, parents, and ur DWM instructrs and staff. I truly see greatness in each and every dancer that cmes int the studi, and I believe that tgether we can be highly successful AND inspire thse wh we are lucky enugh t perfrm fr. 3 Class & Level Descriptins Levels are based n age and ability. Sme classes will be categrized as a halfway level, meaning that they are between the ability levels. Nt all classes categrized at the same level are necessarily equal in age and/r ability. 5 Studi Plicies & Rules Attendance Attendance is crucial t the learning prcess fr each dancer and the prgress f each class. Please adhere t the rules belw: 1. Dancers are nly allwed six unexcused absences fr the entire seasn. 2. Excused absences include: schl cncerts/sprting events, church classes/events, r sickness resulting in fever r vmiting. 3. Dancers shuld attend class t bserve if they are injured r if they are sick but nt cntagius. 4. If a dancer is missing frm class fr three weeks in a rw r mre, a private lessn with either the instructr r the assistant instructr must be scheduled. A private lessn fee f $20 per 30 minutes will be charged. 5. Any dancer that misses mre than six rehearsal thrughut the year must make up the additinal classes with the instructr r the assistant instructr. A private lessn fee f $20 per 30 minutes will be charged. 6. Please cmmunicate if yu are missing a class. Please attempt t learn any missed chregraphy frm a classmate befre the next class. Dress Cde The way in which a dancer is dressed directly determines the attitude she/he hlds regarding rehearsal/class and recital. The general guidelines fr apprpriate attire are as fllws: 1. Shes a. TAP - i. Belmnd - All tap shes shuld be black. Tiny 2 and Levels 1-3 will have Mary Jane r slip n tap shes. Levels 4-7 need split sle, lace up tap shes. ii. Clarin - Tap she clr varies by class. Tiny 2 and Levels 1-3 will have Mary Jane r slip n tap shes. Levels 4-7 need split sle, lace up tap shes. b. BALLET/LYRICAL - Tiny 1&2 and Levels 1-4 need pink, split sle ballet shes (canvas r leather). Levels 5-7 need tan half-sle ballet shes (canvas r leather) c. JAZZ - Levels 4-7 need tan, split sle jazz shes. d. HIP HOP - Hip Hp dancers need cmfrtable, nn-marking tennis shes/sneakers that are ONLY wrn fr dance. N utside shes are allwed n the dance flrs. e. POINTE - Infrmatin n pinte shes and fittings will be given in class. f. TUMBLING - Tumbling classes require bare feet. If dancers wear tights t tumbling, they must be ftless r cnvertible. 2. Dancewear shuld be well fitting. Clthing shuld nt need t be adjusted cnstantly (pulling pants up, pulling shirt dwn, etc.) 3. Dance attire fr Tinys 1-2 and Levels 1-3 includes letards, tights, and spandex shrts r a skirt. N jeans r ther street clthes, and n pajama pants. 4. Dance attire fr Levels 4-7 includes letards, tights, spandex shrts, r dance tp and pants/leggings. N jeans r ther street clthes, and n pajama pants. 5. Bys in hip hp shuld wear cmfrtable clthing that is nt t baggy. N jeans r ther street clthes, and n pajama pants. 6. N jewelry may be wrn in dance class, small earrings are acceptable 7. Dancers must have shes at every class t participate UNLESS the studi is in the prcess f rdering a new pair. Dance shes shuld be kept clean. 8. Hair shuld be pulled away frm the face and secured BEFORE class r rehearsal begins.

6 Class Rules 1. Dancers will arrive at least 10 minutes early t all classes and rehearsals s they are prepared t start when class begins (hair up, shes n, warmed up) 2. Dancers will NOT eat in the dance rms and/r during class. Eating in the lbby is permitted, but please clean up after yurselves. Water bttles are permitted in the dance rms and are highly encuraged. 3. Dancers will give all teachers respect during class by nt talking back, nt interrupting, cming prepared t dance and learn. 4. Dancers will respect their teammates by nt talking and/r gssiping abut each ther. Drama will nt be tlerated. 5. Dancers are encuraged t bring a dance ntebk t each class/rehearsal. 6. Any visitrs must have previus permissin frm the class instructr t view a class. We reserve the right t refuse entrance t any bserver. Parents and visitrs are allwed t watch n the scheduled visitr weeks. Behavir 1. Dancers will nt engage in any ful language r bring any inapprpriate material t the studi. 2. Any dancer caught drinking alchl r using any illegal drugs will be remved frm the studi. 3. Dancers will give 100% effrt at all times when in rehearsal r class, d what the instructr/chregrapher tells them t d, and d s t the best f his/her ability.

7 Payment Plicies 1. Mnthly payments are due n the 1st f each mnth. A late fee f $20 will be charged if payment isn t made by the 10th (r the first business day if the 10th falls n a weekend r hliday.) 2. Yearly fees include tuitin, cstumes, and ne pair f tan tights, if needed. a. All cstumes must be signed fr by a parent. b. Accunt balances must be current befre cstumes are taken hme. c. Additinal recital tights are available frm the studi fr $10 a pair. 3. If a dancer quits mid-seasn r is remved frm a class permanently fr any reasn, any additinal payments will nt be charged, and n previus payments will be reimbursed. 4. Any items rdered r purchased frm the studi must be paid at time f rder/purchase. There will be n charging t yur dance accunt unless yu have a credit n yur accunt t cver the cst. 5. All payments must be made by dress rehearsal fr the annual recital. If final balances are nt paid, the dancers will nt be allwed t perfrm. 6. Accunts must be in gd standing befre dancers are placed int classes fr the fllwing seasn. 7. There will be a $30 fee charged fr any bunced checks. 8. Discunts Multiple Recreatinal Class discunt 2-5 classes per family 5% ff tuitin 6+ classes per family 10% ff tuitin Mnthly EFT Payment via Bank Accunt * $3 ff each mnth *des nt include credit/debit cards By paying upfrnt, yu will receive either a 10% discunt n the tuitin prtin f yur fee if paid by August 15 r a 5% discunt n the tuitin prtin f yur fee if paid by September 15. Please cntact Michele Miltenberger t calculate yur discunted fee. Yu may als chse either a 10-mnth payment plan (beginning July 1) r an 8-mnth payment plan(beginning Sept 1). The mnthly plan installments are due n r befre the 1st f every mnth. Mnthly EFT payments via bank accunt will be withdrawn n the 1st f every mnth r the first business day (Mnday) if the 1st falls n a weekend r hliday and will reflect a $3 discunt. We will cntinue t use the nline billing system. Yu may check yur accunt balances and pay nline at any time after June 1, 2017 by visiting ur site at: and clicking n the parent lgin tab. Returning families - Use the same lgin inf as last seasn assuming yur address has nt changed. New Families - Yur username t check balances is the address yu used at registratin and the default passwrd is Dwm#2016. Please change yur passwrd when yu lg in the first time. If yu need assistance with yur nline accunt, please us at dwmstudi1@gmail.cm. We als prvide the ptin f autmatic fee payment via EFT frm yur bank accunt! T utilize this ptin, please cmplete the EFT authrizatin frm which can be fund in bth the the Belmnd r Clarin studis. Yu will receive a $3 per mnth discunt by using the autmatic fee payment via EFT. We als prvide the ptin f autmatic fee payment via credit/debit card hwever there is NO discunt fr using this methd. All bills must be paid in FULL befre Recital r yur student may nt be allwed t participate.

8 Miscellaneus Vlunteer Opprtunities: In December, we will have a sign-up available fr varius tasks t cmplete fr dress rehearsal and the recital perfrmances. We will schedule a meeting fr vlunteers clser t recital t answer questins and prvide any necessary instructins. Pictures: In the spring we will have prfessinal pictures taken f all classes. Picture day is required fr all students, hwever rdering pictures is ptinal. We will d ur best t schedule arund any cnflicts yu may have. Tickets: Cmplimentary tickets will be available at the studi apprximately 3 weeks prir t the recital. Each student will be given 2 cmplimentary tickets with a family maximum f 8. Tickets will g n sale t the public ne week later. Parent Watch Weeks We will have fur parent watch weeks. Lcker Lckers are available t rent. Students wh have rented a lcker fr the previus seasn will be given the pprtunity first. We will pen up rental t everyne else after these students have been cntacted. Lcker rental is $50 a year. Calendar/Clsings/Cancellatins Dance With Me Studis fllws the Belmnd-Klemme Schl District hliday calendar. In Belmnd, if BK Schls release early due t inclement weather, dance classes will be cancelled. In Clarin, if CGD Schls release early due t inclement weather, dance classes will be canceled. Late starts & Full day cancellatins by BK r CGD d nt necessarily mean dance classes will be cancelled. Please watch fr text/ /facebk fr cancellatin updates Classes cancelled due t inclement weather will nt be rescheduled. On rare ccasin, ur instructrs must miss class due t prfessinal r persnal reasns. In mst cases, a different instructr r the assistant instructr will teach the class at its regularly scheduled time. If anther instructr r the assistant instructr are nt available, the class will be rescheduled. Classes are typically rescheduled fr Saturday mrnings. A cmplete calendar with recital dates, picture days, and ther imprtant events will be available in September.

9 PHOTO & VIDEO RELEASE INFO* Members f the DWM cmpetitin team may have the pprtunity t be phtgraphed r vide taped at varius dance events. With permissin frm parents these phts r vide may be included fr Dance With Me Studis and/r KB Studis, LLC publicatins r advertisements, including n ur websites. T ensure privacy, specific names f children will nt be included. N financial cmpensatin shall be given fr use f any phtgraphs r vide. I acknwledge that Dance With Me Studi and/r KB Studis, LLC may chse nt t use my pht r vide at this time, but may d s at its wn discretin at a later date. Dance With Me Studi and/r KB Studis, LLC reserves the right t discntinue use f phts r vide withut ntice. I have read this release and I understand its cntents. I cnsent t and authrize the use by Dance With Me Studi and/r KB Studis, LLC, r anyne authrized by Dance With Me Studi and/r KB Studis, LLC, f any and all phtgraphs r vide which have been taken f my child/children.
