1 Invitational Dance Showcase Schedule 2017 Sunday April 2 nd 2017 Regina Performing Arts Center ~ 1077 Angus Rd. *ALL Classes Attend, minus our tiny tot classes* The Invitational Showcase competition is quickly approaching. The final draft of the schedule is complete and the following is the DAY & SESSION TIME that each routine is scheduled for as well as the TIME TO BE READY IN THE DRESSING ROOM TO DANCE. This is the time that us dance teachers want all the dancers in the dressing room, hair done, costumes on and ready to go on stage not the time they are on the stage. They are required to be ready approximately 1.5 hours early so that when the teachers/assistants have time to rehearse the group in the rehearsal space ALL dancers are there and ready to go. New Dance Families please read on...important information: We have the following sessions at Showcase Thursday, Friday & Saturday there are 3 sessions - 9:00, 1:00 and 6:30. (We do also set a 3:00 session time, which is an extension of our afternoon session so that we can give our families more specific dance times). There is no additional charge to this session. Sunday we have 2 sessions 9:00 and 12:00. You can purchase a session pass AT THE DOOR for the competition. (There is no assigned seating and because this event hosts 17 studios and over 1500 dancers so people come and go throughout the weekend.) A session pass is $4.00, A day pass is $9.00, a weekend pass is $25.00 (includes a program) and a Program for the weekend is $5.00. I remind everyone that we do not allow ANY ENTRANCE OR EXIT from the theatre during a routine. NO EXCEPTIONS. We have door security and their job is to be sure the theatre doors do not open inbetween the dances. It is very distracting to both the dancers & the adjudicators as well as to the audience. Please follow regular etiquette while at the Performing Arts Center...remain seated during a performance, no food or drink, turn cell phones to silent, and please leave the theatre if you have a young one that is crying or being disruptive. We also ask that our parents and dancers do not approach the adjudicators during the competition. There will be an opportunity to chat with them at the awards ceremony if you wish. Our awards ceremony is held about one hour after the Sunday afternoon session (approximately 3:30 PM) and ANYONE who wishes to attend is welcome! Please note that ALL classes are cancelled throughout the entire Showcase competition - Thursday March 30 th through Sunday April 2 nd. *ALL Solo/Duos must check themselves in Backstage (Stage Right) with the backstage manager about 10 numbers before they dance. Also: Solo/Duo/Trios Assume about 1.5 Beginner to 2 minutes Novice & Open /dance and be ready early enough to rehearse yourself in case your teacher is busy with other dancers. Your teacher will come find you in the dressing room/rehearsal room. (DO NOT be in the theatre watching as we cannot come and look for you!) You can check with your own teacher to see about a time to be ready if you are unsure! We like you ready one hour early.

2 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!! The signup sheet is now on the studio bulletin board We are in need of volunteers for our Showcase competition. ALL parents of dancers of any age can volunteer for a session of the competition. PERKS!! The volunteer perks include: ~ Daily draws for various gift cards. ~ Four ONE FREE CLASS draws towards next year s tuition. ~ Four draws to win a 4-pack of Recital tickets at the Conexus Arts Center (MAY) *THERE IS ALSO A PRE-SALE OF RECITAL TICKETS FOR ANY PARENT VOLUNTEER DURING THE SHOWCASE COMPETITION!! (This excludes dancer volunteers) If you are able to support the dancers by volunteering some time during this event, please sign up on the studio bulletin board.
