3 CHANGES FOR 2019 After evaluating ur age divisins, freestyle events, and judging panels at the 2018 Wrld Jump Rpe Champinship, we have made a few changes fr ur 2019 Wrld Jump Rpe Champinship. These changes are utlined belw, and will als be incrprated int ur 2019 WJR Cmpetitin Rulebk and Judging Handbk. Please lk it ver carefully, and as always, let us knw if yu have any questins r cncerns. 1) ALL JUDGES INTENDING TO JUDGE AT THE WJRF CHAMPIONSHIPS WILL NEED TO COMPLETE THE WORLD JUMP ROPE ONLINE JUDGES CERTIFICATION COURSE AND ATTEND A JUDGES TRAINING COURSE THIS COMING YEAR. WJRF is prud t use a data cllectin app pwered thrugh Andrid. The app is called JumpRpeJudge. JumpRpeJudge is available fr dwnlad nt an Andrid pwered device in the Ggle Play Stre. This app will allw judges t recrd what they see, essentially telling the stry f the rutine. Each jump the athlete/team cmpletes shuld be recrded, including wraps, unwraps and skills t give a full picture f the rutine the athlete/team perfrmed. If yur team is interested in hsting a training, r yu have smene that wuld like t becme a Judge Clinician, please cntact Mnica Fster r Jessica Nichlsn at mnica@wrldjumprpe.rg r jessica@wrldjumprpe.rg. 2) MUSIC ERROR If the wrng music is played fr an athlete s rutine, the athlete shuld stp immediately and ntify the Turnament Directr r Flr Manager. If an athlete chses t cmpete with the wrng music playing, they will nt be given a re-jump. 3) SPEED VIDEO REPLAY DUE TO INACCURATE CLICKING If the judges are nt within 3 clicks f each ther, the speed scre fr that athlete(s) will be recunted using the vide frm their statin camera. In the case the vide cannt be recunted, the team will be ffered a re-jump. In chsing t take the re-jump, the re-jump scre will be the fficial scre 4) BROKEN ROPE If an athlete(s) shuld experience an unintentinal brken rpe r persnal equipment malfunctin during the event, the athlete(s) will be allwed ne re-jump f that event. 4 COMPETITION PHILOSOPHY - INCLUSION, DIVERSITY & CHOICES In an effrt t make ur turnament inviting t a diversity f athletes, we have included events familiar t several jump rpe rganizatins, such as the American Duble Dutch League, the Natinal Duble Dutch League, FISAC, AAU (Junir Olympics), and USA Jump Rpe. The freestyle judging system will strive t hnr all jump rpe styles and backgrunds. Our gal is t insure that athletes frm arund the wrld can take whatever freestyle rutines they currently use fr cmpetitin in their hme rganizatins and bring them t the Wrld Jump Rpe Champinship withut having t make any significant alteratins r changes. We prvide a wide variety f cmpetitin ptins. Fr example: We ffer many age divisins t prmte participatin frm athletes f all ages. In the Event Champinships, participants have the freedm t enter as few r as many events as they desire. Athletes and teams can cmpete fr All-Arund titles if they wish, specialize in nly their favrite events, r d a cmbinatin f bth. Yunger athletes can chse t cmpete against ther yunger athletes in the Junir Wrld Champinship, test their skills against lder athletes in the Senir Wrld Champinship, r d a cmbinatin f bth. Athletes with less experience have the ptin t cmpete against ther athletes new t the sprt in ur Nvice Champinship, test their skills against mre experienced athletes in either the Junir r the Senir Champinships, r d a cmbinatin f all three ptins. Fr the Event Champinship, the same athletes d nt need t be gruped tgether fr every event. Team members can remain cnsistent acrss any r all pairs and team events if they want t (r fr an All-Arund title), but caches als have the freedm t mix up their athletes fr each event. We recgnize that individuals may be mre skilled at sme events than thers, and this apprach allws caches t grup their athletes tgether in ways that will create the strngest pssible teams fr each event. This will allw us t truly see the best f the best in the wrld fr every event! 4 RULES FOR COMPETITION REGISTRATION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: All athletes are welcme t attend. There are n required memberships r membership fees t any rganizatin. There are n qualifying turnaments t attend r any ther type f qualificatin prcess unless yur cuntry has signed a Memrandum f Understanding with WJRF and/ r yur cuntry f residence has a gvernmental bligatin t qualify its athletes. If an MOU has been signed, yu must fllw yur cuntries rules and regulatins in attending a WJRF event. Please cnsult yur cuntry s WJRF recgnized rganizatin fr an explanatin f any requirements. TEAM AFFILIATION: As yu cmpete, yu will be representing the club/team r yur cuntry f residence under the fllwing cnditins: Yur rganizatin has a MOU signed with WJRF Yur gvernment sprting authrity requires that yu have a qualifying turnament If yur cuntry des nt meet the abve criteria, cmpetitrs may be affiliated with as many clubs r teams as they wish. This means pairs and teams can cnsist f athletes frm different clubs r rganizatins, including different cuntries, prvided that the athletes are entered in the apprpriate age and gender categries, and are nly entered nce in any given event. EVENT ENTRY RESTRICTIONS: Athletes may nly enter in apprpriate age and gender divisins. Exceptin: A Junir athlete chses t cmpete in the Senir Age Divisin Event Champinships. In this case the cmpetitr can enter in the Senir Age Divisin. Athletes may cmpete nly nce in any given event. An athlete may nt cmpete in duble dutch single freestyle with tw teammates, then cmpete in duble dutch single freestyle again with different teammates, even if he r she wuld be cmpeting fr the

5 5 secnd time in a different age r gender divisin, r fr an all-arund champinship versus an event champinship. An athlete may nt cmpete in an event in the junir divisin, then cmpete again in that same event in the senir divisin. Hwever, an athlete wh is 14 years ld r yunger may cmpete in ne event in ne divisin, and a different event in a different divisin. Fr example, a 13 year-ld athlete may cmpete his single rpe speed 1x30 event in the junir divisin, then cmpete his single rpe freestyle event in the senir divisin (there is n minimum age fr the senir divisin - the yungest age grup is 16 and yunger ). The same rules apply fr nvice and junir and senir divisins. COMPETITION OPTIONS Cmpetitin ptins available Athletes may chse any r all f the fllwing ptins: Wrld Age-Divisin Event Champinships: Athletes may enter any events that they wish. Athletes may enter ne event, several events, r all events. There are n requirements fr which events, r hw many events, an athlete may enter, s lng as they are nly entered nce in any given event. Awards will be given fr each event in each age and gender divisin. See the Event and Divisin explanatins later in this dcument fr mre infrmatin. Wrld Age-Divisin All-Arund Champinships Athletes and teams may chse t enter sets f events within certain categries with the gal f accumulating pints tward an all-arund scre in thse categries. T be eligible fr the All-Arund Champinship in a certain categry, athletes r teams MUST enter all f the required events fr that categry. All-Arund Categries include: Single Rpe Individual All-arund Single Rpe Team All-Arund (4 r 5 athletes per team) Duble Dutch Team All-Arund (4 t 6 athletes per team) Please see the age divisins, gender divisins, and all-arund categries explained later in this dcument fr mre infrmatin. Wrld Grup Team Shw Champinship (see explanatin n page 16) Grand Wrld Jump Rpe Shwcase (see further explanatins n page 10) Grand Wrld Event Champinship Wrld Jump Rpe Duble Dutch Cntest (DDC) RULES FOR COMPETITIVE DIVISIONS Age Divisins: Age divisins are determined by the athlete s age as f September 1 st, Fr pairs and team events in the 30 and lder age divisin, all athletes in a team must be 30 years ld r lder. Fr pairs and team events in all ther age divisins, the age f the pair r team is determined by the age f the ldest athlete. A valid frm f identificatin listing the athlete s birthdate will need t be prvided at check-in fr age verificatin. The cmpetitin cmmittee reserves the right t make adjustments t the age divisins if there are less than 3 entries in any given age divisin. Caches will be ntified f any changes that need t be made in age divisins 2 weeks prir t the turnament start date. Gender Divisins: Female: All athletes must be female Mixed: Bth male and female athletes are included in the grup Male: All athletes must be male Fr all single rpe individual events, in all age divisins, there will be female and male gender divisins Fr pairs and team events (except grup shw and DDC events), in all age divisins, there will be female, mixed, and male gender divisins.

T qualify t cmpete in the Nvice Champinship, athletes must have participated in their first sanctined jump rpe cmpetitin n r after September 1 st, Wrld Jump Rpe Age Divisin Champinships: Junir Wrld Champinship - all participants are 14 years ld r yunger. Gender divisins will apply. Senir Wrld Champinship - pen t all ages. Gender divisins will apply. The yungest senir divisin age categry is 16 years ld and yunger. Hwever, these entries will nt cntribute t the team s verall scre. GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP SHOWCASE Rules fr the Grand Wrld Event Champinship: The tp finishers in the Wrld Age Divisin Event Champinship will re-cmpete in a final cmpetitin t determine the Grand Wrld Champin fr each event. There will be n age divisins fr the Grand Wrld Event Champinship. Gender divisins will apply. Speed qualifiers The tp 6 qualifiers (Nvice, Junir r Senir) fr the female and male single rpe speed 1x30 event, regardless f age divisin, will advance t cmpete fr the Grand Wrld Champinship. The tp 6 qualifiers (Nvice, Junir r Senir) fr the female and male single rpe speed 1x180 event, regardless f age divisin, will advance t cmpete fr the Grand Wrld Champinship. The tp 3 qualifiers fr the female and male triple unders event will advance t cmpete in the Grand Wrld Champinship. Special nte fr 1x180 and Triple Unders Grand Wrld Qualifiers: Re-cmpeting the 1x180 and Triple Unders events at the Grand Wrld Champinship will be ptinal fr athletes wh qualify. Athletes and caches wh qualify will have 15 minutes after the qualifiers are annunced t discuss the best strategy and t declare whether the athlete will re-cmpete either r bth f these events at the Grand Wrld Champinship, r whether they wuld rather keep their qualifying scre instead. Bth the athlete and the cach will have t prvide a signature cnfirming the chice(s) that they have made. Once the declaratin is made, the decisin is final and changes will nt be allwed. Any athlete wh chses t re-cmpete an event will be expected t d s. Any athlete wh scratches frm ne f these events after deciding t re-cmpete will be disqualifying themselves frm that particular event, and their qualifying scre will nt be cnsidered in the results t decide the winner. Exceptins may be made at the discretin f the Turnament Directr in regards t injury r illness. The tp 6 qualifiers (Nvice, Junir r Senir) fr the female, male and mixed gender divisin pairs and team speed events, regardless f age divisin, will advance t cmpete fr the Grand Wrld Champinship. Freestyle qualifiers The tp 10 qualifiers fr the senir female and male individual freestyle event, regardless f age divisin, will advance t cmpete fr the Grand Wrld Champinship. The tp 6 qualifiers fr the senir female, male and mixed gender divisin pairs and team freestyle events, regardless f age divisin, will advance t cmpete fr the Grand Wrld Champinship. DDC qualifier DDC Grand Wrld Champinships The tp 6 DDC freestyle qualifiers, regardless f age divisin, will advance t cmpete fr the Grand Wrld Champinship. The tp 6 DDC Speed qualifiers, regardless f age divisin, will advance t cmpete fr the Grand Wrld Champinship.

10 10 GENERAL RULES FOR COMPETITION EVENTS Credential Verificatin: Athletes will need t shw their WJRF-issued credentials t the head judge r flr manager prir t cmpeting in any event. Equipment: Athletes may use any length r type f rpe, as lng as the rpe (r rpes) is pwered nly by the cmpetitr(s). Attaching the rpe(s) r rpe handle(s) t the bdy in any way is nt allwed, as it culd be a way fr cmpetitrs t gain an unfair advantage in cmpetitin. Prps are nt allwed in speed r freestyle events. Equipment such as mats, tramplines, r anything else that gives the athlete(s) an advantage in the perfrmance f an event may nt be used. Cstume-type prps are allwed in the Grup Shw and DDC events. Unifrms: Fr speed and freestyle events, athletes may wear any type f athletic clthing nrmally wrn in sprt cmpetitin r exercise activity. It is highly recmmended that team members cmpeting tgether in team events have unifrms that crdinate with each ther in rder t appear prepared and prfessinal. Fr grup shw and DDC events, athletes may wear unifrms that best interpret and represent the music being used and chregraphy being perfrmed in the rutine. In all events, athletic shes must be wrn (n sandals, flip-flps, high heels, bare feet, etc.). Hair accessries, jewelry and eye glasses shuld be secured. Athletes will nt be given a re-jump because f interference frm their hair accessries. If a hair accessry r jewelry falls ut and lands in anther cmpetitive statin, the athlete r team will be given a space vilatin. Untied shes are the respnsibility f the athlete(s). If a she cmes untied during cmpetitin, the athlete may chse t cntinue with their event withut tying the she. Judges r fficials will nt stp an event due t an untied she. General Rules and Restrictins: Gum Chewing is nt allwed during cmpetitin, fr safety as well as fr cleanliness. Sick, injured, r late/missing athletes will nt be awarded a re-jump r be given a heat change t accmmdate them. Caches can substitute athletes if necessary and shuld ntify the Turnament Directr right away if this ccurs. Athletes r caches are nt allwed t alter their cmpetitin space in any way (such as mving bundaries, applying tape t the flr, etc.). Rules fr Speed and Pwer Events: Speed and pwer statin dimensins are 6 meters by 6 meters. Fr all speed events, athletes must use the traditinal jgging step mtin fr speed events. One rpe must pass under the ft fr each jump, alternating between right and left ft jumps. There shuld be ne revlutin f the rpe fr each alternating ft jump. Fr the single rpe duble under speed event, athletes must use a tw-ft bunce, where bth feet tuch the grund simultaneusly after tw rtatins f the rpe arund the bdy. A jgging-step mtin (where athletes alternate between their right and left feet) will nt be allwed. Any starting psitins may be used, as lng as the rpe(s) remain still until the tne t start sunds. Three speed judges will be assigned t each speed statin. The Head Judge will use SkipTraq, while the ther tw judges will use a WJRF-apprved clicker. The tw clsest scres are added tgether and the furthest scre is discarded. If scres are equidistant frm each ther, then the tw higher scres are added tgether and the lwest scre is discarded. Judges will cunt the right ft jumps f the cmpetitrs. When a miss ccurs, judges will skip the next right ft jump t rectify the jump cunt n the clickers. *Judges cunt the left ft jumps fr DDC 1x30 nly A supprt bx is present inside each statin fr ne individual t assist the cmpetitr. That individual must be respectful f all cmpetitrs, judges and WRJF turnament staff and remain in the supprt bx during the event heat. N Phtgraphy is allwed frm the supprt bx. An fficial WJRC timing track will be used. Times will be called during speed events as fllws: All timing calls will begin with, Judges are ready, s are ready, Set, Beep. The end f the event time perid is indicated with a Beep.

11 Fr the single rpe speed 1x30, 2x30, and 4x30 events, calls will be made n the fficial timing track every 10 secnds. Fr the pairs and team events, calls t switch jumpers will be made every 30 secnds. Fr the single rpe speed 1x180 event, calls will be made n the fficial timing track every 15 secnds Fr the duble dutch speed 3x40 event, calls will be made n the fficial timing track every 10 secnds, with calls t switch jumpers every 40 secnds Fr duble dutch speed 2x60, calls will be made n the fficial timing track every 15 secnds with the call t switch jumpers will be made at ne minute Fr the Duble Dutch Speed 3x40 event, the rules are as fllws: The first jumper enters the rpes at the beep. At the call t switch (after 40 secnds) the first jumper must exit the rpes, take ne end t becme a turner, and the persn whse rpes were taken then becmes the secnd jumper inside the rpes. At the secnd call t switch after the secnd 40 secnd time perid, the secnd jumper exits the rpes, takes the rpes frm the third team member (wh has nt yet jumped), and becmes the turner, while the persn whse rpes were just taken then becmes the cmpetitr inside the rpes fr the final 40 secnd time perid. Fr all Duble Dutch Speed 3x40 and 2x60 events, nly ne athlete may be inside the rpes at ne time. One jumper must exit befre anther jumper can enter. Fr the 3x40 event, each athlete will jump fr 40 secnds. Fr the 2x60 event, tw athletes turn fr entire 2 minutes while the ther tw athletes each jump fr 60 secnds. Fr the Cnsecutive Triple Unders event, ne persn perfrms cnsecutive triple under jumps until they either miss r chse t stp. This event is nt timed, but cmpetitrs will be given the cue t begin with Judges are ready, Jumpers are Ready, Set, Beep n the fficial timing track. Athletes will be given tw attempts t cmplete 15 triples r mre. If an athlete begins t perfrm cnsecutive triple unders and then misses r stps befre cmpleting the fifteenth triple under, then the athlete may try again. Judges shuld recrd the scre fr the first attempt in the apprpriate place n the scre sheet. The athlete will have up t tw minutes t recver in his r her statin befre beginning their secnd attempt. The athlete may nt leave the statin. Once the secnd attempt has begun, any stp r miss f the rpe will indicate the end f the event, regardless f hw may triple unders were perfrmed (if any). Judges shuld recrd the scre fr the secnd attempt in the apprpriate place n the scre sheet. If the athlete cmpletes 15 triple unders, whether n the first r secnd try, then any stp r miss f the rpe frm that pint frward will indicate the end f the event. If tw attempts were made, the higher scre f the tw attempts will be cunted as the final scre. The athlete may d single r duble jumps as preparatry jumps prir t beginning triple unders. Hwever, the cunting f triple unders stps nce any duble under r single under jumps are perfrmed after the jumper has begun cnsecutive triple unders. This event will be cntested in the Senir Age Divisin Champinship nly. There will be a 5 pint deductin taken fr false starts (starting the rtatin f the rpe(s) befre the beep is made), and fr false switches (athletes switching at inapprpriate times, mre than ne athlete inside the duble dutch rpes, athletes beginning befre the call t switch is made, etc.). There will be a 5 pint deductin taken fr space vilatins. If an athlete (r their equipment) leaves the designated event area, judges will direct the athlete(s) t re-enter the prper area and cntinue the speed event. Judges shuld nt cunt speed jumps r triple unders while a space vilatin is being cmmitted. Judges may begin cunting again nce the athlete r team, and/r equipment, is back within the designated bundaries. If an athlete(s) shuld experience an unintentinal brken rpe r persnal equipment malfunctin during the event, the athlete(s) will be allwed ne re-jump f that event. Shuld anther brken rpe r persnal equipment malfunctin ccur during the re-jump, the athlete will be given the scre f the re-jump and nt be given a secnd re-jump. Athletes have a right t expect accurate speed cunting. At least tw f the three speed judges at the statin must be within 3 clicks f each ther. If vide replay is being used at a turnament, the turnament directr will infrm the cach r ther representative fr the team that the vide f the event in questin will be autmatically recunted by a panel f 3 judges, separate frm the speed judges in the statins. If a vide recunt is nt pssible due t a technlgical issue r if vide replay is nt being used at a turnament, then the athlete(s) will have the pprtunity t re-jump the event if they wish and the athlete(s) will be given the scre f the re-jump. Hwever, the athlete(s) will nt be entitled t a re-jump nr recunt if an athlete bstructs the camera view. The use f vide replay at a turnament is the decisin f the Turnament Directr. Als, if a speed judge is having truble with accuracy, a furth judge may be added t the panel. 12 Tie breaker rules Vide replay will be utilized t break ties fr age divisin speed events fr the tp 3 finishers. If the recunt shuld affect placement, then ther affected psitins will be recunted as well. If a tie stands, then all athletes will receive awards. Vide replay will be utilized t break ties in 1 st 3 rd place finishes fr the Grand Wrld speed events. If the recunt shuld affect placement, then ther affected psitins will be recunted as well. If a tie stands within the tp 3 places after vide recunt, then a jump ff will take place. In the event f a tie fr Grand Wrlds, a jump ff will take place prir t the awards ceremny. Any athlete invlved in a tie will be ntified f the tie immediately fllwing the submissin f the final speed scre fr that event. They will then be required t cmpete in a jump ff at the end f the Grand Wrld events. The jump ff will determine the final placing f the athletes invlved in the tie. Fr example: if a tie ccurred fr 1 st place in Male 30 secnd speed, the tw individuals will re-cmpete. The individual with the highest scre in the jump ff will receive the Grand Wrld 1 st place trphy and the individual with the secnd highest scre will receive the 2 nd place trphy. The individual wh riginally placed 2 nd (when there was a tie fr 1 st ) wuld nw receive the 3 rd place trphy. Use f Music Music will be used fr the Junir Divisin Single Rpe Team Freestyle event. T use time mst efficiently, music will nt be used in the ther single rpe r duble dutch freestyle events fr the Junir r Nvice Divisins. There will be n music used fr Senir Divisin Individual Single Rpe Freestyle, Single Rpe Pairs Freestyle and Single Rpe Pairs Wheel Freestyle, unless therwise nted by the Turnament Directr. All ther freestyle rutines fr the Senir Divisin will be perfrmed t music, unless therwise nted by the Turnament Directr. Any type f music may be used, thugh prper cntent and language shuld be maintained. The Turnament Cmmittee has the authrity t reject music fr inapprpriate r ffensive lyrics r cntent. This is entirely up t the discretin f the Turnament Cmmittee. Music featuring ffensive lyrics r cntent culd result in a reductin f yur scre by the judges. All music fr every cmpetitr and every event must be submitted by the registratin deadline. If n music is submitted, then n music will be played during the age divisin champinships. If the athlete(s) in questin qualifies fr Grands, at the Turnament Directr's/Cmpetitin Cmmittee's discretin, music may be submitted t prtect the image f Wrld Jump Rpe in view f ur audiences. If the wrng music is played fr an athlete s rutine, the athlete shuld stp immediately and ntify the Turnament Directr. If an athlete chses t cmpete with the wrng music playing, they will nt be given a re-jump. Single Rpe Pairs and Team Freestyle Events: Fr single rpe pairs freestyle rutines, tw athletes perfrm a synchrnized, chregraphed rutine. Fr single rpe team freestyle rutines, fur athletes perfrm a synchrnized, chregraphed rutine. Single Rpe Pairs Wheel Freestyle: Tw athletes perfrm a wheel rutine. This means each athlete has a hld f ne handle frm the ther persn s rpe, and ne handle f their wn rpe. The rpes turn at alternating beats, meaning when ne rpe is up, the ther rpe is dwn. 12

13 While it is acceptable t have sectins f the rutine where the rpes are turning tgether instead f at ppsite beats, r bth athletes are jumping ne rpe, r any ther highlight perfrmed t enhance the entertainment value f the rutine, the expectatin is that the vast majrity f the rutine be perfrmed using the traditinal wheel frmat. Aside frm brief highlights incrprated fr chregraphic reasns, athletes shuld always be cnnected by having a hld f each ther s rpes. Duble Dutch Freestyle Events: Duble Dutch rutines shuld be designed s that all members f the team (3, 4, r 5 peple) are included and incrprated int the rutine at all times. At n time shuld an athlete(s) be waiting utside f the rpes while anther athlete(s) are inside the rpes perfrming tricks. Evaluatin and judging f freestyle rutines: All freestyle events will be evaluated n Required Elements, Difficulty, Density, Quality f Presentatin, Accuracy (misses) and Entertainment Value. Details fr awarding pints are described in the judging handbk. There will be a minimum f seven judges and ne flr manager fr every freestyle statin. There will be ne Head Judge, three Cntent Judges, and three Presentatin Judges. JumpRpeJudge is available fr dwnlad nt an Andrid pwered device in the Ggle Play Stre. This app will allw judges t recrd what they see essentially telling the stry f the rutine. Timing will be dne by the Head Judge (r ther designee) using a stpwatch. The annuncer will indicate when bth the judges and the athletes are ready t begin. The time n the stpwatch will begin either when the music starts, r when the athletes begin the rutine, whichever happens first. Time will end when the rutine reaches its ending pse, r when the stpwatch reads the maximum time limit, whichever happens first. If a rutine cntinues past the maximum time allwed, the judges will stp judging at that pint, and a 0.2 deductin will be given fr a time vilatin. Maximum space will be given depending n the cmpetitin venue. N space vilatins will apply. Equipment: Attaching the rpe(s) r rpe handle(s) t the bdy in any way is nt allwed, as it culd be a way fr cmpetitrs t gain an unfair advantage in cmpetitin. Equipment such as mats, tramplines, r anything else that gives the athlete(s) an advantage in the perfrmance f an event may nt be used. Cstume-type prps are allwed in the DDC event. Unifrms: Fr the DDC event, athletes may wear unifrms/utfits that best interpret and represent the music being used and chregraphy being perfrmed in the rutine. Athletic shes must be wrn (n sandals, flip-flps, high heels, bare feet, etc.).
