Entries will be accepted n a first cme, first served basis and will be limited t the amunt f perfrmance time available. Mst f ur events sell ut befre the deadline date, s please send yur entries in early. Dance studis must submit all entries. Independent entries will nt be accepted. Reginal entries and payments must be received n later than 18 days prir t the event. N payments will be accepted at a Shwstpper event. A $5 charge will be issued fr any changes made 5 days prir t the event. Be precise. When registering fr a cmpetitin, enter Music Titles, and Participant Names and studi names exactly as they shuld appear in the Shwstpper Prgram. Dancers birth dates must be entered crrectly r they will nt be able t see their persnal schedules and parents will nt be able t dwnlad their vides. TYPES OF ENTRIES Sl Duet/Tri (Duets and Tris cmpete against each ther) Small Grup (4 t 9 dancers) Large Grup (10 t 19 dancers) Super Grup (20 r mre dancers) COMPETITION LEVELS Perfrmance Dancers wh take a ttal f less than three hurs f cmbined dance and/r acrbatics lessns per week. Please nte that it is nt mandatry t enter the Perfrmance level if yu take three hurs r less. Yu may als enter Advanced r Cmpetitive level. Hwever, if a Duet/Tri r Grup has ne r mre dancer(s) taking mre than three hurs f dance/acrbatics per week, it must enter a higher level. Advanced Dancers n the rise between Perfrmance and Cmpetitive. Advanced includes dancers taking three t five hurs f dance and/r acrbatics per week with limited cmpetitin experience, and nt yet ready t cmpete at the highest level. If a dancer cmpetes in the Advanced Level as a slist they must remain in the Advanced Level fr all sls. The dancer cannt mve dwn and perfrm in any Perfrmance Level rutines. Hwever, the same dancer can mve up and perfrm in a Cmpetitive level duet, tri and grup. If a Duet/Tri r Grup has ne r mre dancers taking ver five hurs f dance/acrbatics per week, it must enter the Cmpetitive Level. Cmpetitive The highest and mst cmpetitive level f dancers. Cmpetitive Level includes: 1) All dancers taking ver five hurs f dance and/r acrbatics per week,

2 2) Perfrmance level dancers that wish t cmpete at a cmpetitive level, and 3) Advanced level dancers that wish t cmpete at a cmpetitive level. Any entries wishing t cmpete fr Cash Awards, the highest Overall Hnrs, the Crystal Award and the WebTV Shw at Finals, must cmpete in the Cmpetitive Level. Dancers cmpeting at the Cmpetitive level as a slist must remain in the Cmpetitive Level fr all ther sls, duet/tris, and grup rutines perfrmed at that cmpetitin. Teachers must use their wn sund judgment when determining the number f hurs f practice per dancer and in which level cntestants shuld be placed. Rutines that are bviusly underplaced may be placed in a higher level by the judges. AGE DIVISIONS Ages fr Duet/Tris and Grups are as f January 1 st. Ages fr Sls are as f the first day the Cmpetitin begins. Fr Duet/Tris and Grups, the ages f all cntestants as f January 1st must be averaged tgether. If there is a decimal, rund dwn and drp the decimal. Cntestants will cmpete in the fllwing age grups: (4 & under), (5-6 years), (7-8 years), (9-10 years), (11 years), (12 years), (13-14 years), (15-16 years), (17-19 years), (20-29 years), (30-39 years), (40-49 years), (50-59 years), (60-69 years), and (70 & ver). Cntemprary, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical Jazz, Open, Musical Theater, Hip Hp and Prductin categries ONLY age grups are: (4 & under), (5 years), (6 years), (7 years), (8 years), (9 years), (10 years), (11 years), (12 years), (13 years), (14 years), (15 years), (16 years), (17 years), (18-19 years), (20-29 years), (30-39 years), (40-49 years), (50-59 years), (60-69 years), and (70 & ver). Overall recgnitin and medals will be given in the fllwing five age divisins: Mini: 8 years & under Junir: 9-11 years Teen: years Senir: years Adult: 20 years and ver Duet/Tri and Grup entries cannt cmpete in an age divisin mre than ne age divisin yunger than the ldest dancer s age as f January 1st, regardless f the average age. Fr example, an 18 year-ld (senir) dancing in a grup with an average age f 10 (junir) wuld be mved int the teen categry (ne age divisin yunger than senir). In this example, because the average age is 10, the grup wuld be placed int the lwest age grup in that divisin. Here, that wuld be age 12. CATEGORY POINT DEDUCTIONS The ballet and pinte dance categries can cntain n gymnastic/acrbatic tricks. A ne-half (.5) pint deductin per judge will be made fr any gymnastic/acrbatic tricks in these categries. Tricks nt allwed are mvements that pass thrugh r stp at a fully inverted (upside dwn) psitin with bth feet ff the flr (the trs passing r stpping directly ver the tp f nes head/shulders). The nly exceptins t this are frward, backward and shulder rlls, and acrbatic tricks in lifts (a lift being defined as being supprted by anther dancer with any bdy part). The fllwing dance categries can cntain n mre than three gymnastic/acrbatic tricks, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical Jazz, and Clgging. A ne-half (.5) pint deductin per judge will be made fr any gymnastic/acrbatic tricks in these categries ver three. A gymnastic pass will be cunted as the number f tricks in the pass. If dance mvements, music lyrics, r cstuming are deemed t be t suggestive r therwise inapprpriate fr ur family audience, r if the music cntains vulgar r inapprpriate lyrics, the rutine will be scred lwer by the judges.

3 DANCE CATEGORIES Hip Hp Rutine cnsisting primarily f Hip Hp Technique. The judges will scre music cntaining inapprpriate lyrics lwer. Any number f Acrbatic tricks are allwed in this categry. Musical Theater Rutine featuring any style f dance that interprets a sng frm a Bradway shw r mvie musical. Any number f Acrbatic tricks are allwed in this categry. Jazz Tap Ballet Pinte Rutine must cnsist f primarily jazz technique. Three gymnastic/acrbatic tricks are allwed. Rutine must cntain tap technique and primarily tap wrk. It is preferred that tap sunds nt be prerecrded in music. Three gymnastic/acrbatic tricks are allwed. Rutine must cnsist f ballet technique. Must include classical steps and mvements. N pinte shes allwed. N gymnastic/acrbatic tricks are allwed. Rutine must cnsist f pinte/te technique. N gymnastic/acrbatic tricks are allwed. Lyrical Jazz Rutine shuld demnstrate balance, extensin, islatins and cntrl utilizing the lyrics r md f the music. Three gymnastic/acrbatic tricks are allwed. Sng & Dance Must cntain bth singing and any listed categry f dancing. Judging will be based n bth singing and dancing. There must be n ther lead vices anywhere in the prerecrded music (0.5 pint per judge deductin). All perfrmers will be judged n bth singing and dancing. A ne pint deductin per judge will be incurred if any special micrphnes r sund equipment is hked up by Shwstpper fr any reasn. Tw handheld wireless micrphnes nly will be available fr yur use. Acrbatic Dance A rutine using cntrlled acrbatic mves such as walkvers, limbers, handstands, chest rlls, etc. may cntain gymnastic passes. The majrity f an acrbatic rutine must be acrbatic mves, therwise, the rutine will be scred lwer by the judges. Acrbatic Dance may cntain flexibility mves r cntrtinist mves, hwever, it must cntain dance mves, steps, and chregraphy. Batn A rutine using batn(s) and batn technique. Batn rutines will be judged n Batn technique and dance mves, steps, and chregraphy. Any number f Acrbatic Tricks are allwed in this categry.

4 Pm Pn A rutine incrprating the use f Pm Pns. Pm Pn rutines must use precise and definite mvement. Any number f Acrbatics are allwed. Hwever, n stunts, tsses, r pyramids taller than ne persn is allwed r a ne pint penalty per judge will be incurred. The rutine will be judged n bth Pm Pn technique and dance steps, mves, and chregraphy. Clgging A rutine utilizing either traditinal r cntemprary style clgging technique. Three gymnastic/acrbatic tricks allwed Character Rutine A rutine prtraying a recgnizable character thrughut. May be frm a play, mvie, televisin, Bradway, r a steretype such as a farmer, pliceman, etc. The character prtrayed must be listed n the entry frm, and it will be published in the prgram bk. May incrprate either dance r acrbatic techniques. Any number f Acrbatic tricks are allwed in this categry. Flklric A rutine using ethnic style f dance, such as Spanish, Hawaiian, plkas, etc. Any number f Acrbatic tricks are allwed in this categry. Open Any f ur listed categries r cmbinatins f listed categry styles. Any number f Acrbatic tricks are allwed in this categry. Cntemprary Rutine shuld utilize cntemprary style t shw extensin, balance, can cmbine lyrical, mdern and cncert style techniques. Any number f Acrbatic tricks are allwed in this categry. All Male Any grup with all male dancers, regardless f type f dance, may chse t enter this categry. Any number f Acrbatic tricks are allwed in this categry. Prductin A rutine utilizing a grup f at least 10 dancers incrprating any style/styles f dance r acrbatic. Prductin categry has a time limit f 8:00 minutes. All Prductin Grups entered at all Finals will autmatically be part f ur new PRODUCTIONMANIA LIVE WEBCAST SHOW the evening befre ur champinship webcast. Teacher Persns 20 years f age r ver wh are teachers, assistant teachers, prfessinal dancers r persns wh have ever been teachers, assistant teachers r prfessinal dancers must cmpete in Teachers Categries. Teachers Sls, Duet/Tri, and Grups can cmpete in all types f dance listed abve. All Duet/Tris r Grups with even ne Teacher cmpetitr must enter the Teachers categry. Teachers Grups are nt eligible t appear n the Champinships Webcasts prduced at the Finals. ENTRY LIMITATIONS Slists are limited t tw sl perfrmances. The dance studi must submit all entries. Independent entries will nt be accepted.

5 PROPS Fire, swrds and knives n stage are prhibited. Simulated weapns with dull, safe edges are acceptable with apprval f Shwstpper. N liquid, paint, gel, aersl, glitter, fg, smke, pwder, paint pwder, ashes, r similar substance that wuld affect the dancing surface is allwed, unless specifically apprved by Shwstpper. If this ccurs, the rutine may be scred lwer by the judges. Prps are allwed, hwever they must be freestanding. Scenery r backdrps requiring the use f theater fly bars may nt be used. Prps, if used, must be prepared and set-up, and remved quickly. Judges may take excessive set-up r remval time int cnsideratin. Helium ballns are nt permitted unless special permissin is given by the venue. Safety is always ur majr cncern. If the stage is "littered" during a rutine please be prepared t clean it up immediately after the rutine is finished. Hver bards are prhibited. COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATIONS Time limits alltted per dance: Sl, Duet/Tri & Small Grup entries: three minutes (3:00) Large Grup & Super Grup entries: fur minutes (4:00) Prductin categry entries: eight minutes (8:00) Additinal time cannt be purchased. Please nte that there may be a variance in the time a recrding device saves music and the time the music is played n a different device. Fr perfrmance time, an allwance f 15% f the alltted time per dance will be given fr machine calibratin errr. A deductin f ne tenth f a pint (.1) per judge will be made fr every 15 secnds (r any prtin theref) in excess f the alltted time limit and 15% grace perid. The same cntestant(s) cannt cmpete mre than nce in the same dance categry and age grup in Sl, Duet/Tri, r Grup cmpetitin. This means that cntestants must never cmpete against themselves in the same age grup and dance categry. Dancers cmpeting at the Cmpetitive level as a slist must remain in the Cmpetitive Level fr all ther sls, duet/tris, and grup rutines perfrmed at that cmpetitin. Slists are limited t tw sl perfrmances. Rutines perfrmed at the reginal shws are eligible t enter any f the Natinal Finals, regardless f the reginal lcatin at which the cntestant qualified. Hwever, cntestants can nly attend ne Finals. Rutines are expected t perfrm in the rder they are scheduled. If fr any reasn a rutine perfrms ut f its listed rder, vide playback f that rutine during the awards ceremny cannt be assured. Rutines must be perfrmed during the awards sessin in which they are scheduled. If the rutine cannt perfrm during the awards sessin in which they are scheduled fr any reasn, it can be perfrmed fr judges cmments nly. The rutine wuld nt be eligible fr verall awards. It will be annunced n stage at the end f the regular awards, the apprpriate medal r trphy given, and the rutine will be qualified fr Natinal Finals. Videtaping and mvie cameras are prhibited. Still phtgraphy is limited t taking phtgraphs f yur wn child. N prfessinal phtgraphy set-ups/tripds/mnpds allwed. If dance mvements, music lyrics, r cstuming are deemed t be t suggestive r therwise inapprpriate fr ur family audience, r if the music cntains vulgar r inapprpriate lyrics, the rutine will be scred lwer by the judges. Air hrns r similar devices are prhibited. Rutines that are bviusly under-placed int the wrng skill level may be placed in a higher level by the judges. Any studi that makes an enrllment/rutine change 3 days prir t the event, it is subject t a $5 fee fr each change. Duet/Tris cannt win in Grup categries.

6 Scres & Deductins A panel f cmpetent judges will judge cntestants. All entrants agree that the time, manner, and methd f judging the cntest shall be slely within the discretin f the directrs and prducers f Shwstpper and that all decisins f the judges are final. If dance mvements, music lyrics, r cstuming are deemed t be t suggestive r therwise inapprpriate fr ur family audience, r if the music cntains vulgar r inapprpriate lyrics, the rutine will be scred lwer by the judges. A 5-pint deductin will be made fr rutines that are nt cmpleted unless due t a cstume malfunctin that wuld result in an immdest perfrmance. Ties will nt be brken. A ne pint deductin per judge will be incurred if any special micrphnes r sund equipment is hked up by Shwstpper fr any perfrmance. Music Requirements Each entry must furnish its wn music marked with the cntestant number n a clean CD, ipd, flash drive r music may be up-laded thrugh ur Teachers Express Lane n ur website. Music must be upladed three (3) days prir t the event. It is recmmended that yu bring a secnd cpy as a backup in the event f malfunctin f riginal. AWARDS Duble Platinum, Platinum 1st Place, Gld 1st Place, and Silver Awards will be decided by a predetermined range f pints fr each place. In the Cmpetitive Level, dance rutines are als eligible fr the Crystal Award. There may be multiple Duble Platinum, Platinum 1st places, Gld 1st places, and Silver Awards in each age grup and categry. Cntestants will cmpete in the fllwing age grups: (4 & under), (5-6 years), (7-8 years), (9-10 years), (11 years), (12 years), (13-14 years), (15-16 years), (17-19 years), (20-29 years), (30-39 years), (40-49 years), (50-59 years), (60-69 years), and (70 & ver). The Tp 2 scring slists frm the Junir, Teen and Senir divisins in the Cmpetitive Level at every reginal event becme Shwstpper All Stars and are invited t perfrm in the pening number f ur America Lves t Dance Champinship n the last day f each Finals event. If a perfrmer was ne f the tp 2 scring minis at a reginal event, they are nt eligible fr the pening number even if they turn 9 years ld befre the Finals. If a reginal event has ver 900 entries, the tp 4 scring slists frm the Junir, Teen, and Senir divisins are invited. If a reginal event has ver 2,000 entries, the tp 6 scring slists frm the Junir, Teen, and Senir divisins are invited, and if a reginal event has ver 2,500 entries, the tp 10 scring slists frm the Junir, Teen, and Senir divisins are invited. If the same dancer qualifies t perfrm in the Opening Number at multiple reginal events, then at each subsequent event, the next highest scring Slist, within the same age grup, will be eligible t perfrm in the Opening Number. Tp Teacher Award A special Trphy will be awarded t the tp Teacher perfrmances in Sl, Duet/Tri, and Grup divisins receiving the highest verall scre. Tp Adult Awards A special Trphy will be awarded t the tp Adult (ages 20 & ver) perfrmances in Sl, Duet/Tri, and Grup divisins receiving the highest verall scre. Tp Duet/Tri $50 plus a $50 Shwstpper gift certificate will be awarded t the Duet/Tri in the Mini: 8 years & under, Junir: 9-11, Teen: 12-14, and Senir: age grups receiving the highest verall scre. Tp Small Grup $100 plus a $100 Shwstpper gift certificate will be awarded t the small grup in the Mini: 8 years & under, Junir: 9-11, Teen: 12-14, and Senir: age grups receiving the highest verall scre. Tp Large Grup $100 plus a $100 Shwstpper gift certificate will be awarded t the large grup in the Mini: 8 years & under, Junir: 9-11, Teen: 12-14, and Senir: age grups receiving the highest verall scre. Tp Super Grup $100 plus a $100 Shwstpper gift certificate will be awarded t the super grup in the Mini: 8 years & under, Junir: 9-11, Teen: 12-14, and Senir: age grups receiving the highest verall scre. WITHDRAWING/ADDING DANCERS The studi must make all withdraws and changes.

8 SHOWSTOPPER APPROPRIATE If dance mvements, music lyrics, r cstuming are deemed t be t suggestive r therwise inapprpriate fr ur family audience, r if the music cntains vulgar r inapprpriate lyrics, the rutine will be scred lwer by the judges. VIDEOS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE Participating cntestants and studis may purchase vide dwnlads f their rutines. Vides will be available nline at gshwstpper.cm during the perfrmance year they are recrded. Any vides purchased during the cmpetitin seasn must be dwnladed by December 31st f that same year. Thereafter, they will n lnger be available. SHOWSTOPPER S VIDEO & PHOTOGRAPHY USE Cntestants and teachers by virtue f entering a Shwstpper event give their permissin and cnsent t the Directrs f Shwstpper t use their images, phtgraphs r appear in vides, televisin, r any ther electrnic media fr advertising, news cverage r any ther cmmercial use f ur events. BE SAFE Any perfrmer cmpeting in dance cmpetitins take certain inherent risks. These include, but are nt limited t, sprains, bruises, pulled muscles, and brken bnes. Participatin in this cmpetitin indicates the acceptance f such risks by perfrmers. Therefre by virtue f entering this event, it is agreed that participants will nt hld Shwstpper Inc.; Shwstpper American Dance Champinships r its fficers, directrs fficials, staff r emplyees respnsible fr injuries sustained r illnesses cntracted by them while in attendance and/r participating in any activity related t a Shwstpper Cmpetitin.
