2 A Message frm the Club President The Bard f Gvernrs and Management are pleased t present this Facility Imprvement Plan Guide, the first f many pieces f cmmunicatin t yu regarding upcming FIP prjects. This prcess began in 2015 and included tw member surveys, the develpment f a 20-year capital reserve study, and the creatin f a strategic plan. In Octber, 2017 ur membership vted and verwhelmingly apprved the prpsed Facility Imprvement Plan prjects. The prjects, which are detailed in this guide, will begin July 30, 2018 with the gal f cmpleting them by June, Planning the prjects has been a very interesting experience. Fr example, nce we began planning the Bag & Cart Strage building the sil tests we cnducted prved the 14,880 square ft building culd successfully be built cmpletely undergrund rather than int the hillside. This gives us the ability t expand the new Glf Parking Lt. As yu can see, the FIP prjects have been arduusly studied and very well planned. The ther prjects utlined in this guide include the restratin f the Champinship Glf Curse, cnstructin f a new statef-the-art Glf Perfrmance Center, restratin f the Men s Lcker Rm wet areas, renvatin f the West Tennis Pati and replacement f six asphalt tennis curts. This guide als includes infrmatin n tw ther prjects: (1) a new guard huse and main entrance, and (2) the creatin f a green space at the lcatin f the upper pnd. These prjects were unanimusly apprved by the Bard f Gvernrs t be cmpleted in cnjunctin with the Facility Imprvement Plan and will be funded by the Capital Reserve Fund. Entering the grunds, the first thing yu will ntice is a taller guard huse centered in the middle f a mtr curtyard, enclsed by tall hedges. Only after gaining access t the prperty will members and guests be able t see the breathtaking vistas beynd. Key aspects f this prject include cnstructin f a new guard huse with an attached restrm, a dedicated member entrance lane that autmatically grants access with a new barcde access system, new cncrete drives and hand-selected pavers, and the additin f a dedicated right turn lane when exiting nt 61st Street. East 61st Street Main Entrance Clsed July 30th - Nvember 30th Clu East 65th Place All Traffic Enters & Exits Here (Timberlane Gate) East 65th Place Beginning July 30, all traffic will use the Timberlane Gate. Hw This Prject Affects Yu The Main Gate at 61st and Lewis will clse frm July 30th thrugh late Nvember 2018 All traffic will enter and exit thrugh the Timberlane Gate beginning July 30, 2018 During cnstructin, security guards will wrk 24/7 frm a temprary structure at the Timberlane Gate The barcde system that prvides member access thrugh these gates will be upgraded with a new system. The current system will becme inactive n July 30th. We will release mre infrmatin abut this change, including hw t acquire a new tag fr yur vehicle.

6 Glf Curse Restratin Thirty-tw miles f irrigatin pipe, 38 miles f hydrnics tubing, 12 miles f drainage, 4 and ¼ miles f cncrete cart path installatin, 2,100 irrigatin heads, 900 truck deliveries f sand and gravel, and 51 acres f sd will be used t cmplete the upcming restratin f the Champinship Glf Curse. Sme 60 staff will be invlved in the wrk ver the curse f 10 mnths. Material delivery is already underway and irrigatin wrk will cmmence arund July 15th in advance f the curse shutdwn t ensure we remain n a schedule that cmpletes seeding f greens in Nvember f this year. This early irrigatin wrk will be dedicated t the West Nine and Nrth fence line alng #7; ut f way f play. The early August prject wrk will cnsist f: Installatin f fur, 140 tn reverse cycle chillers (hydrnics) t be used t heat and cl the greens, sd remval and greens cnstructin. Remval f existing features will cntinue int the mnth f September, including the hauling f material frm the burn pit t the new shrt game area and the remval f cart paths. Glf Curse Architects Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner will be n-site thrughut the prject as they have rented tw hmes in Tulsa fr the duratin f the wrk. They will cntinue t wrk with the Glf Curse Restratin Cmmittee thrughut the prject hlding peridic meetings, crrespnding with cmmunicatins, phne calls and in-the-field discussins t achieve best utcme fr the prject and ensure we meet financial gals. Mdernizing the infrastructure f the glf curse, while restring the design characteristics f ne f the great glf curse architects in the histry f the game is a unique pprtunity. 8 Bag & Cart Strage We are excited t annunce the updated design f this new facility meets all prmises frm the Initial Imprvement Plan with ne imprtant enhancement: The building itself virtually disappears! Our team f designers have taken the new 14,880 square ft Bag & Cart Strage Facility and meticulusly placed it underneath ur new Glf Parking Lt, hiding parking fr 132 carts, ver 1,600 glf bags, cart wash stalls, and all Glf Staff wrk spaces. Abve grund will be a new bag drp-ff structure, welcming members t a tranquil glf experience and tw cart queuing areas t accmmdate up t 50 glf carts. With this prject, we were als able t increase member parking frm an effective capacity f 73 t 100 parking spaces, still maintaining the enlarge t which spaces ur members and guests have becme accustmed. 10 Glf Perfrmance Center One f the mst highly anticipated prjects f the Facility Imprvement Plan is the cnstructin f the new 4,032 square ft Glf Perfrmance Center, lcated at the west end f the driving range. Included in the design are fur, 20 wide x 25 deep, practice and instructinal bays. Here, glfers will be able t utilize the latest in technlgy t examine their swings and track ball flights, hitting thrugh pen verhead garage drs nt the driving range. In the case f inclement weather, glfers will be able t clse the garage drs and wrk n their game while still hitting indrs. Want t practice n curses frm arund the wrld? Glfers will be able t enjy playing a simulatin f many different curses prjected n the screen in frnt f them. The Glf Perfrmance Center will als feature a gathering rm that can be used fr small events, a refreshment area, restrms, and ffices fr instructinal staff. 12 Men s Lcker Rm Restratin f the Men s Lcker Rm wet areas is a vital cmpnent t the Facility Imprvement Plan. We will begin by replacing all riginal and rtting plumbing infrastructure and all shwer stalls with fresh marble resembling the riginal design. Additinally, all vanities and cunter tps will be replaced and the restrms will receive new flring, ceilings, trim and stalls. Suthern Hills Cuntry Club will als incrprate a shwer, sink, and water clset that cmplies with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The nly part f the Men s Lcker Rm wet areas t remain? The shwer heads! 13 Tennis Curts & West Pati Renvatin A key part f the Facility Imprvement Plan is the replacement f six deterirating, exterir asphalt tennis curts. Curts 1 thrugh 4 will be replaced with pst-tensin cncrete curts, while Curts 5 and 6 will be replaced with Har- Tru Green Clay. Additinally, all six curts will receive new black, vinyl-cated chain-link fencing, three new shade structures between each pair f curts with ice and water machines, and new wind screens thrughut. Finally, we will replace the inefficient metal halide lights with new utdr LED light fixtures. The Tennis Pati verlking Curts 1 and 2 will receive a majr verhaul as part f the FIP. By remving the cncrete bleachers and installing a wall clser t the curts, we will be able t greatly increase the Pr Shp Pati. We will then enhance this gathering space by cvering it with a structural timber rf, adding ceiling-munted heaters and televisins t create a cmfrtable and casual feel. The cmpsite deck and planter utside f the lcker rm hallway will be remved and replaced with a secndary cncrete pati, cntaining bth shaded and sunny seating lcatins. T cmplete the renvatin, we will add a welcming new entrance and fyer t the suthern mst entrance f the lcker rm hallway. 14 Green Space The Suthern Hills Bard f Gvernrs has apprved the remval f the upper pnd and the creatin f a green space fr entertaining. This green space will be used fr a number f events including the Easter Egg Hunt, Swingar, Furth f July, Suthern Hills Invitatinal and the Red Bud Member-Guest. It will als be used as a children s play area and fr private member functins such as wedding ceremnies and receptins. This prject invlves draining the upper pnd, and filling it in with sil excavated frm the cnstructin f the undergrund Cart & Bag Strage Facility. Althugh this is nt part f the Facility Imprvement Plan, ding this prject nw remves the risk f water damage frm the upper pnd; is estimated t cst less than repairing the pnd, and creates savings t the Facility Imprvement Plan by reducing the csts assciated with the remval f excavated materials during the cnstructin perid, as these materials will be used t fill in the upper pnd. 14 Suthern Hills Cuntry Club

15 Shrt Game Area Since 1936, tw acres f land has existed suth f the main entry drive and belw the upper pnd. In the early days f the Club, this land hused a pump statin t fill the swimming pl and distribute irrigatin water t Champinship Curse fairways and greens. Over time the Club has installed a pnd and relcated the pumping statin t the furth hle f the West Nine Curse. This prvides the unique pprtunity t incrprate a wnderful piece f the Club s prperty fr member use. As part f the Facility Imprvement Plan, we will begin cnstructin f a 3-hle shrt game area n July 30th. Glf Curse Architect Gil Hanse has prvided drawings that include cnstructin f greens that simulate hles n the Champinship Curse. Presently, Gil is planning t replicate hles #2 (nrthwest crner), #10 (nrtheast crner) and #13 (suth). The gal is fr members and their guests t be able t wrk n their glf game frm inside f 80 yards in an area adjacent t the existing driving range and practice greens. Early stages f cnstructin will relcate excess fill material frm bth the glf curse restratin and the excavatin f the new cart barn lcatin t the shrt game area and upper pnd. Shaping f greens and fairway areas will tentatively start in late Octber with greens being seeded in Nvember befre cld weather limits seed germinatin. Scheduled pening date is June 1st f Upn cmpletin, this nce underutilized piece f prperty will transfrm frm a brderline eyesre f a parking lt t a well maintained asis f shrt game fun fr all skill levels t enjy. As yu cme up the main entry drive, take a lk t the suth and picture this amphitheater-inspired asis next t the Green Space planned fr the upper pnd.
