WARWICK FARM Wednesday 8 April 2015 Race 2: TAB Rewards Handicap 2200m Brilliant Meteor trainer Mr D Pfieffer reported that a scope of the gelding was clear and no other abnormality was detected. Race 5: McGrath Estate Agents Handicap 1400m Mahican trainer Mr P Moody reported that the gelding had pulled up well and stated that the rain affected track was the principal reason for the disappointing performance. ROSEHILL GARDENS Saturday 28 March 2015 Race 6: Vinery Stud stakes (Group 1) 2000m Wildenstein rider M Walker was fined $300 under AR137A(4)(c) for continual use of the whip on a horse out of contention. RACE 1: Adina Apartment Hotels Fernill Handicap (Listed) 1600m Cracklin' Rosie late withdrawal, on veterinary advice, at 10.52am, due to a nasal discharge. Trainer Mr D Payne was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to the filly racing again. Clash Of Clans shortly after the start was bumped by Celtic Diamond, which shifted out. Rider J Moreira stated that the principal reason he could offer for the disappointing performance of the colt was that it did not handle the heavy track conditions and failed to let down when put under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt lost near fore plate in running. Stable representative Mr M Newnham undertook to report back on the future race plans for the colt. J Moreira was spoken to relative to using the whip in an action that raises his arm above shoulder height. Rhode Assassin approaching the 1200m had to be steadied away from the heels of Clash Of Clans (J Moreira), which shifted in when not clear. J Moreira was advised to exercise more care and ensure he provides sufficient clearance when shifting ground.

2 2 Celtic Diamond rider K O'Hara reported her mount, which was considerably up in grade, overraced early, so she let it stride forward rounding the first turn near the 1000m, however, she was obliged to race three wide without cover from that point. She added, when it became clear that the filly was out of contention, she did not fully test her mount out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed filly sustained an abrasion to the near-hind bumper and lacerations to the off-hind fetlock. Eolande jumped awkwardly and shifted out at the start. Rider C Williams could offer no tangible reason for the disappointing performance of the filly. He stated that it appeared to travel well through the heavy track conditions, however, did not respond to his riding when placed under pressure in the straight and was disappointing in its failure to finish the race off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be coughing. Muzyka rider T Berry reported his mount pulled hard throughout the event. RACE 2: McGrath Estate Agents South Pacific Classic (Listed) 1400m Thinking Of You rider C Schofield reported his mount did not handle the heavy track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Redoubtable Heart A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer Mr C Waller was asked to provide a veterinary clearance prior to the colt racing again. RACE 3: Provincial Championship Final (Special Conditions) 1400m Radical Impact passing the 900m had to be steadied away from the heels of Harmonic. Slots when awkward on the heels of Magic Of Dreams, shifted out passing the 800m, taking Harmonic and O'Reilly's Revenge wide. Darci Magic badly held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight. O'Reilly's Revenge passing the 300m had to be steadied away from the heels of Radical Impact (T Huet). T Hue was reprimanded and told to exercise more care. Jimmy Says Yes for some distance approaching the 100m raced tight when improving between Magic Of Dreams and Slots. Parraay rider J Moreira reported the mare never travelled comfortably in the going and was disappointed for a run near the 300m between Radical Impact and O'Reilly's Revenge. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off-hind pastern. RACE 4: Girvan Waugh Percy Sykes Stakes (Group 3) 1200m Lake Geneva due to a misunderstanding relative to the handicap weight, as R Moore was unable to make 54kg, T Berry was substituted as the rider of the filly. Bumped by Calaverite, which shifted out at the start. Ottoman slow to begin.

3 3 Sempre Libera in the early part of the straight raced in restricted room when endeavouring to improve between Lake Geneva and Mine Two. RACE 5: Arrowfield 3YO Sprint (Group 2) 1200m Puzzling Wonder linking up with the course proper at the 1000m had to be steadied and lost its position. Then, when Rubick, after initially being tightened by Soldi Domani, which was laying in and away from Nostradamus, then ran in away from that runner. Rekindled Power checked away from the heels of Puzzling Wonder, which struck interference near the 900m and then was awkward on the heels of that runner for some distance thereafter. Bring Me The Maid was inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight. Kuro when questioned concerning the tactics adopted on the colt, B Shinn stated that he was positive for the first 50m from its wide barrier, but when Mossfun drove up inside him shortly after the start and, in his opinion, the early pace was too fast, he elected to not persevere in attempting to cross. He added that he was unable to take up a position on the back of Mossfun when Confederate improved through to his inside and he had to come back further than he had intended, following Delectation into the straight. B Shinn stated, when Delectation made its run, Kuro was disappointing in that it only finished the race off fairly. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr J Pride stated that the colt may not have been advantaged by having to make up ground at the back of the field and it was now his intention to freshen Kuro up, with an aim at the Queensland winter carnival. RACE 6: Seven News Australian Oaks (Group 1) 2400m Gust Of Wind slow to begin. Rider T Angland was fined $200 under AR137(c) for making a celebratory gesture prior to the winning post. Savaria had to be checked making the first turn. R Moore, rider of Ballet Suite, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding of shifting in when insufficiently clear, resulting in Savaria losing its rightful running. R Moore's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Sunday, 19 April 2015 and to expire on Friday, 24 April 2015, on which day he may ride. In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into account that R Moore had not incurred a careless riding suspension for a period of at least the last 12 months. Rider J McDonald stated that the filly never handled the soft going and was a beaten horse at the 1000m. Wildenstein for some distance approaching the 1600m Wildenstein and Winx raced tight inside Thunder Lady, which improved up inside the heels of Rustic Melody (B Avdulla). Then passing the 1600m, when Rustic Melody shifted in, Wildenstein had to be restrained off the heels of Thunder Lady. B Avdulla was reprimanded and told to exercise more care. Ballet Suite lost its position at the 1500m and was obliged to race three wide thereafter when checked off the heels of Sweet And Speedy when the pace slackened. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly, which raced wide without cover, did not reveal any abnormalities.

4 4 RACE 7: Cellarbrations Queen Of The Turf (Group 1) 1600m Just A Blur late to arrive on course due to transport issues, was examined by the Club's Veterinary Officer and passed fit to start. Amanpour which struck the front of its gates, was unloaded and passed fit to start. Gypsy Diamond slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages. First Seal slow to begin. First Seal and Amicus came together, as First Seal shifted out and assumed a position on the back of Noble Protector passing the 600m. When questioned, J McDonald stated that, after missing the start, the filly was able to take up a favourable position but, in his opinion, raced flatly and, when asked for an effort in the straight, was unable to quicken and finished the race off only fairly. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Diamond Drille at the 1000m dipped when being checked off the heels of Hera. Winx inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight. Savaria rider J McDonald stated that the filly never handled the soft going and was a beaten horse at the 600m. RACE 8: Schweppes 150 th Sydney Cup (Group 1) 3200m Grand Marshal which missed the start slightly, was badly crowded on jumping away between Renew, which shifted out, and Dominant, which shifted in after beginning awkwardly and continued to lay in for a short distance thereafter, further hampering Grand Marshal. Like A Carousel - making the home turn on the first occasion, had to restrain off the heels of Au Revoir, which shifted in. K McEvoy will be spoken to relative to being fully clear when shifting ground. Who Shot Thebarman when taking a narrow run to the inside of Hartnell near the 200m, was brushed on the shoulder when Hartnell rolled in under pressure. Hartnell when questioned, T Berry stated the instructions had been to push forward at the start, but he had intended to allow Don Doremo and Au Revoir to cross. He added that when those runners did not press on and when Hartnell was travelling comfortably, he elected to lead. T Berry further stated that in the straight he did not feel comfortable with the action of Hartnell and the gelding appeared sore behind trotting back to the enclosure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed gelding to be mildly lame behind and displaying a poor postrace recovery. Trainer Mr J O'Shea stated that the condition of Hartnell, in his view, had been symptomatic of a very hard run and undertook to report on the progress of the gelding subsequent to the race. Protectionist rider C Williams stated that he was able to take up a favourable position on the horse, however, was niggling his mount from as far out as the 1500m, as Protectionist did not travel on the bit from that point. He added that his mount pulled up very quickly subsequent to the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have

5 5 abrasions to the fore and hind bumpers. Trainer Mr K Lees indicated that he would report on the condition of Protectionist subsequent to the race. Akzar near the 500m became unbalanced when briefly tightened by Protectionist, which laid in. Rider B Avdulla was reprimanded under AR145 for returning to scale 0.9kg overweight. RACE 9: Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Group 1) 2000m Spillway at the 500m laid in across the hindquarter of Royal Descent when it was inclined to get away from Red Cadeaux. Red Cadeaux which had been held up, at the 300m was disappointed for a run between Royal Descent and Beaten Up, which shifted in slightly. Red Cadeaux then had to be taken to the outside of the heels of Beaten Up and raced tight when racing between Beaten Up and Tosen Stardom. To The World rider Z Purton stated that from the 900m his mount was struggling in the going and dipped on several occasions. He said that, whilst there was nothing noticeably amiss with To The World, he eased it down over the concluding stages when it was a beaten horse. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr Y Ikee, assisted by interpreter Mr A Harrigan, advised that To The World is a 4-year-old horse, which has only raced on good surfaces in Japan and at its only start in Australia at Rosehill, and the run, in his view, was attributable to its failure to handle the prevailing track conditions. Mr Ikee undertook to report back if there is anything amiss with the horse subsequent to the race. RACE 10: Drummond Golf Sapphire Stakes (Group 2) 1200m Atmospherical overraced in the early stages. The mare, which was pulling hard, shifted off the heels of Villa Verde and made contact with Onemorezeta, resulting in Onemorezeta becoming unbalanced behind. Onemorezeta made contact with Atmospherical, which was pulling had and shifted off the heels of Villa Verde, and became unbalanced behind. Fine Bubbles on straightening was checked when disappointed for a run between Bound For Earth and Peron. Villa Verde rider B Avdulla stated the mare failed to handle the soft track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Shamalia when questioned, H Bowman stated that the mare travelled well, but could not quicken in the ground when asked to improve. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the near hind fetlock. Co-trainer Mr J Cummings stated that the mare was disadvantaged in the run by being back and wide and at its only previous form in soft going has been in much weaker company. He undertook to report if there is anything amiss with Shamalia subsequent to the race.
