Sophia Del Sol - Runner-up in two appearances going short over the Golden Gate tapeta, and note both of those outings were eventful as she was green in the debut while breaking from the rail and had traffic troubles at most recent asking; bred to enjoy the added real estate and looms large under Elliott. 2. Misty Slew - One of two in here with route experience, training a much tougher group over the Del Mar lawn this summer; went evenly in that last sprint 19 days ago at the seaside while managing to pick up the show money; rounded out the trifecta the only time she tested this oval during the summer session; must consider. 3. Wannabe Solo -The only new face in the cast and never easy to get it done first time at a route; sire has clicked with 28 of his 305 first-time youngsters and this is the first to the wars for the unraced Pleasantly Perfect mare; slowish Arcardia works on tab. 4. Artistic Ministry - Miyadi having a good meet and wins lots of races with these connections; took a little money while testing deeper waters in that Del Mar debut a month ago and had no rally, now they waste little time in giving her more ground to work with while leading man Roman takes the controls; very dangerous here. 5. Jinn Win - Three of the five starts have come here, including an opening week sprint where he she was unable to come up with the needed punch; perhaps the added distance will work in this one's favor, but she'll need to pick up her figures if she wants to seal the deal. 6. Cee Sam s Girl - Her best effort to date came at 2nd asking while racing under these exact conditions during the fall session as she was a non-threatening second that day with a modest late gain; trailed better in the subsequent Anita miler and then went evenly on the cutback at Del Mar, finishing behind today's foe Misty Slew. South Texas Lingo - Texas invader has been claimed twice from four starts since arriving in California and is looking for his first trifecta placing; red-tagged last month by Cerin, who has very strong numbers with his fresh purchases and wheels him right back for the same tag with leading jock Roman getting the leg up. 2. Mimis Big Boy - First of 3 in the cast with a victory over this mile strip, earning that score a year ago when he graduated going this journey in his 12th stab at the brass ring; added a score two starts later at Santa Anita, but has been a non-factor in the interim; offered at a 50 percent discount off the tag he carried here opening week. 3. Broadway Nika - He's a 13-time winner with one score from his five starts in Orange County, that coming at the September meet going this once-around trip; part of a blanket finish when suiting up here opening week in a dash and while he doesn't always run them alike, his best must be respected. 4. Ucanthankmelater - The other member of the cast who has graced the daytime winner's circle here, earning that score with a nice track-andattack for Baze around two turns; wheels back in 8 days after going evenly here with a better group; has a pretty good punch when he's on his game and at the right level. 5. Nagys Piggy Bank - Illinois-bred arrived here from the Midwest this summer with 16 wins on the resume, but has been rolling 4's since being claimed from that first California start for this same price tag; stretches out now and should be right on top of the action from the getgo, with the final eighth being the big question mark. 6. Freddies Dream - Been popular at the claim box, with the claim slip being dropped in 6 of the last 10 starts, but note that last one a month ago at the seaside was voided; has made a trio of appearances in the charmed circle this year and his best race puts him right in the thick of things from a tracking position. Tiz Proof - First of 5 new faces in the cast and must deal with tricky rail spot for unveiling; sire has had 4 winners from 17 debut youngsters while mom won twice from 13 tries for 64K and has had a winner from a a pair to reach the gate. 2. Time for Cioppino - The only runner to have faced the starter and he's trying to get over the hump in start No. 9; has made some menacing noises, including an even third-place finish here on opening day while beating a half-dozen home; if the firsters don't come out running, it could well be the day for this Sherlock trainee. 3. Black Site - Dad has a winner from 6 first-time babies while the dam banked 223K winning 5 times from 31 tries and has seen 3 of her 4 to the wars get the picture taken; local drills don't exactly get the pulse racing. 4. North County Guy - Appears to be working best of the new shooters with the Sherman representative posting a trio of solid 5-furlong moves here to complete preparations; sire has had 3 winners from 32 debut 2-year-olds while mom only raced once and has had all 3 of her starters connect, headed by 210K earner Cordiality 5. Blitzing Mario - Sire has yet to have a debut youngster win from 15 to the post while the dam won 8 times from 36 tries for 78K and is having her first starter; slowish local work since coming in from Turf Paradise. 6. Just Be Held - Dips to the lowest level of her career and has the speed to make best use of this inside post under Baze; broke her maiden back in April and has had to settle for a series of minor awards in the interim, but this Truman representative looks like a nice fit with this conditioned crew and could pose an elusive target. 2. Todos Santos - First of 3 in the field with a local decision, earning her diploma in emphatic fashion during the summer meet while racing at the lowest rung; red-tagged twice since while having to be happy with one distant runner-up finish from those 5 starts, tired here opening week while racing under these same conditions. 3. Reinahermosa - Just the lone victory from 27 trips to the post, with 4 place and show finishes from her 11 attempts over this daytime oval; been failing to menace with softer company going both short and long and hard to make a case while shedding blink 4. Carrie - Had an unfair start when suiting up here opening week and was declared non-starter while being long odds that day at this level; have to go pretty far back to find that maidenbreaker and looks like a longshot. 5. Sapodilla - Also exits that race here opening week won by Divine Spark, picking up the show money while finishing over 5 lengths ahead of today's rival Todos Santos; claimed that day by Bean from Jones; graduation came by a nose here at the fall session. 6. Coronado Cool - Has been knocking on the door in the four outings since returning from Texas and breaking her maiden at 14th asking running short on the Lone Star turf; a pace and a show in the two appearances over this layout and should drop into a nice spot and has to be given a long look 7. Seaquet - She reached the winner's circle in her only local try here in September while being 0-for-14 everywhere else; re-united with Werner, who was aboard for that maiden tally and gets the best of the draw; needs her best to reach. Tizway That Way - Goes turf to dirt after finishing third - via disqualification - in her Southern California debut four weeks ago. Both of her wins came over synthetic in Illinois and was seventh of eight in lone try on dirt Aug. 4, 2016 when trained by Larry Rivelli. 2. Fly Far Away - Pressed slow splits and wound up third in restricted claimer when returnedv to the main track a month ago. Stable s had a solid year, but filly s lone win came nearly 27 months ago at much shorter trip in Washington when trained by Howard Belvoir. 3. Exactamente - Arrives sharp from Northern California with victories in two of her last three three and hasn t been worse than second in four starts since being claimed for $12,500 from Bill Delia Aug. 6. Capable on any surface and should be a factor once more from close range for stable winning at a 31% clip this year. 4. Backintheacademy - Stepped into a career soft spot and responded with a blowout victory nearly two months ago. Veteran mare is brought back in a spot where she can t be claimed and has been 2-3 in three of five over this track. Recent bullet drill on her tab, so should factor once more. 5. Jill Madden - Controlled the pace en route to a dominant win vs. softer nearly two months ago. Has won two of four since being claimed for $16,000 from Jeff Bonde Aug. 16, including a win over this track at this trip during the Los Angeles County Fair meet in September. One of two 3-year-olds in the field along with Tizway That Way. 6. Sheswildnfree - Rallied from last to defeat weaker field at this distance two weeks ago and has posted two of her lifetime victories here. Could run on for a piece, but improvement necessary to challenge for the top prize. 7. Ryder s Starlight- Idle since failing to threaten when 10-1 on turf seven weeks ago. Lone win of the year came on New Year s Day on the grass at Golden Gate Fields when trained by Bill McLean. Unplaced in two previous races on dirt, so siding against. Quantum Force - Claiming price cut after finishing sixth of days ago when making first start in 29 months. New jockey takes over and could move forward with a race under his belt, but others preferred. 2. Four Gaels - No match for gate-to-wire winner when 2-1 under the lights for lower price tag 26 days ago. Likes to win races, but gelding has done his best work in the evening at shorter distances. 3. Tough to take in his current form. 4. Pat the Bear - Opened clear lead and was nailed late by Hawk s Eyes when favored for this price tag here three months ago. He was a voided claim that afternoon and has a sketchy work tab since, but certainly good enough to handle these if he fires anywhere close to his best shot. 5. Johns Journey - Sidelined since disappointing twice during the LACF meet, the latest when last of seven for higher claiming price Sept. 24. Three of his four wins have been over this surface, so could be dangerous off the bench for high percentage stable. 7. Changing Karma - Far back when 47-1 facing tougher six weeks ago, Hasn t been a factor in recent, but does have a daytime win over this track, so could perk up with the drop in class. 8. Warren s Cole - Rolled sevens in last pair, most recently when 45-1 for higher tag 13 days ago. Hampered by lack of early speed, but could make some late noise and won here during the LACF meet. 9. My Secret Affair - Brief factor before retreating when 18-1 at higher level 20 days ago. Claiming price halved for second after nearly nine months on the bench and retains leading rider. No Comparison - Lightly-raced 6-year-old has been sidelined for some 25 months since trailing on the grass when 7-2. Did earn her lone win when returning from a layoff of some nine months, but that 46-1 shocker came on grass and she is unproven on dirt. 2. Be a Lady - Taken for this price from Antonio Garcia when finishing in a dead heat for fifth when 19-1 in similar spot 44 days ago. Scored here during the Los Angeles County Fair meet Sept. 17 and six time winner is eligible to improve for strong first off the claim stable. 3. Bold At Night - Switches to dirt after having lead late, but winding up third when 20-1 on turf at shorter trip four weeks ago. Runner-up in both previous tries over this track and will be a pace factor at the very least. Tough to ignore. 4. Princess Kendra - Shortens up after finishing fifth of seven at eight furlongs 12 days ago. Seeking fourth win of 2017 for stable that had two wins from its first six runners of the Winter meet. Could be an off the pace threat in this speed-laden field. 5. Tuscany Beauty - Adds more speed to the contest and cuts back a sixteenth of a mile after completing the exacta when favored five weeks ago. Not big on winning as she is only 2-for- 18 since the beginning of last year and is most effective when able to shake loose early, a highly unlikely scenario in this spot. 6. Plane Lucky - Debuts for new connections after being claimed from Richard Baltas out of a second place finish when the oddson choice vs. open company 47 days ago. Jockey who rode her that day and was aboard for both of her wins stays, so she looks like a major player. 7. Dreamy Gal - Disappointed when favored in same race Be a Lady exits, but retains rider and fits off runner-up effort two back when chasing Del Mar graduate Powder. Ahimsa - Kentucky Derby winning sire s had two debut winners from his first 29 starters and 1-for-8 dam s only other foal was unraced. Hall of Fame rider takes the call, but needs an alert start from this post. May need more distance before showing her best. 2. Star Dreamin - Finioshed sixth of eight when chasing runaway winner in debut six weeks ago. Should benefit from the experience and gets first shot to run over the track where she is based. Expecting better. 3. Cowboytakemeaway - Street Cry is about 8% with his rookies from a large sample and dam, a stake winner at ages 2 and 3, has had two winners already, including Union Jackson (6 wins, $273,874). Could come out running for Hall of Fame stable over the track where she is based. 4. Raising Aida - Sire is about 16% with his rookies and 1-for-8 dam s only other foal was winless. Filly purchased for $175,000 as a yearling at Keeneland has solid local work tab for Hall of Fame trainer. Looks live in her debut. 5. Gracious Me - Sire is 13% first time out and only other foal from dam, who won 10 of 37 and earned over $300,000, was winless in three starts. Leading jockey takes the call on homebred, so worthy of consideration. 6. Loving Moment - Uncle Mo has scored with 39 of 225 debuters and first foal for dam who once in six starts. Stable is more than capable with a rookie and hustling rider named, so wouldn t be surprising to see her prominent early. 7. Ride Lady Ride - Twirling Candy has won with 26 of his first 134 first time starters and five of dam s eight prir foals have won, including Borealis Way (7 victories, $152,744). Some local bullets on her resume, but stable not known for debut success. Conflicting signals. 8. D D s Lute - Returns in two weeks after finishing fourth of seven when 33-1 at bit shorter trip. Most experienced member of the cast is best of the shown element, so $50,000 yearling purchase merits some respect. 9. Jazzy - Stablemate of Ride Lady Ride finished 11th of 12 when debuting 19 days ago at this distance.slow local drill in the interim, so would be a surprise. Formerly trained by Michele Dollase.
