Prima Gianna - Invades from No Cal and is rarely beaten to the early poles, including a coast-to-coast scorfe in March at Golden Gate; respect speed, but must deal with tough customer on the outside. 3. It s Aine - Had a love affair with this oval last season, winning 3 of 6 and completing exacta in two others; been facing much tougher since the January claim and should hit hard with this group from a tracking position. 4. Twelve Folds - Dips below the April purchase price and is re-united with Talamo, who got a good effort from her the day she was claimed; faced some swift distaffers the only time she tried this layout last year. 5. Shy Rosa - Made it look easy in that May 29 Arcadia tally and was haltered by Miyadi, who hits at a solid percentage with his fresh claims, including a strong ROI; perfectly drawn on the outside in this compact cast under main man Perez. 5. Zirondella - Took a drop in class while racing over the fiveeighths oval here under the lights in late May and finished evenly for 3rd behind a return winner; a minor award appears the ceiling. 2. Abu Dhabi Do - Lone beginser in the field is by a 10% debut sire in Kafwain with modest works showing across town; looking elsewhere. 3. North Lake Tahoe - Best effort of late came in one of those 870-yard mixed events here in the evening; figures to weaken with this group. 4. Coach John - Best race in his February debut in Arcadia when he turned in a solid 2nd, but hasn t been able to duplicate the outing; did have some traffic issues in that last try. 5. Arctic Warrior - A nibble here and a nibble there and does sport the highest last figure, with the runner-up from that race returning to graduate; should fall into a nice tracking position for the apprentice. 6. Bern - The most missed opportunities as he makes his th stab at a diploma; fine works following the freshening and drops to the lowest level for the first time. 7. Cop Along Cassidy - Away slowly in both attempts and well beaten each time; racing over the track where he trains and must do better. 8. Big Hat Charlie - He s been knocking heads with much tougher company and now he s been gelding and drops into a softer spot; should be right at home under this group. 9. 3 3 rd by 2-year-olds, fillies, maiden special weight, California-bred, 5 furlongs Top Recent Equibase Speed Figure at this distance: Esmeralda Belle 1. Warm Endowment - Harris homebred is by a top sire and shows a steady local worktab for Greenman; must deal with what can be a tricky rail slot for a firster. 2. Jase s Aunty Aimee - Papa Clem has clicked with 7 of his 43 debut babies; drills don t exactly get the pulse racing. 3. Esmeralda Belle - Took money in the first pair and earned minor awards, then stretched out to this trip for the most recent and went evenly for a slice; first try without blinkers. 4. She s too Wild - Failed to make much impact in the May 30 introduction, finishing 8 lengths behind today s rival Aiming Straight; gets to race where she trains now. 5. Pulpit Rules - Not much doing in the first two tries, then managed a modest show finish in a compact field in the Anita finale; blinks go on and has to pick up her game. 6. Reinahermosa - Sire has yet to have a debut juvenile winner from 14 to attempt it; slow Santa Anita drills showing. 7. Alizarin Beauty - Idiot Proof has seen 2 of 9 beginning 2-yearolds connect; barn 0-for-13 with beginners of late and hard to get line on San Luis Rey works. 8. Aiming Straight - Made a big move forward in the 2nd attempt while adding the blinkers, showing good speed all the way while much the best of the rest; certainly the best of those who have started. 9. Vronsky s Devka - Has a couple of nice 4-furlong spins over this layout for Harrington and Hall of Famer/CHRB commissioner Solis takes the assignment. 10. I m a Drama Mama- Got some attention at the windows in the SA unveiling, came away last and was never a menace; no surprise to see a move forward with race under belt. 11. Octofy - Team Reddam had a terrific SA meet with their babies, including several by Square Eddie who is 7 for 33 with his young debuters; a couple or nice half-mile gate works showing.. Just Google Me- Stormin Fever has clicked with 8% of his 2-year-old firsters; shows up from Arizona by way of San Luis Rey and did pick things up with that last drill. Our Trooper - Making 15th attempt to get across a win, which is just a couple shy of the rest of the field combined; may work into a piece of it, but can t recommend for top spots. 2. Drylightning - The lone firster in the line-up is by Stormy Jack and has a couple of decent Orange County drills in tow; would need to see good appearance and some tote action. 3. Warren My Boy - Both starts came for a higher tag and the slow takeoff didn t help the cause in the debut; sports the highest last figure and should really appreciate the easier assignment. 4. Spike the Punch - Had a trouble journey in the unveiling and showed a little interest, then stopped badly in that May 30 outing; question mark. 5. Cowtownmary - Returned from 13 months on the sidelines and turned in a big effort at this level, battling every step and while no match for the winner, easily holding off the rest; had a race now and strictly the one to catch. 6. Mr Salt Shaker - Sent off at 62-1 in last month s bow and was never in it after having some trouble in the early stages, finishing double digits behind Cowtownmary. 7. Dee for Dave - Attracted some money in debut three weeks ago, was in tight quarters to the turn and gave way readily; blinkers go on and a sizzling local gate drill showing in the interim. 8. Fort Atticus - Exits what has proven to be a very productive heat across town; checked early and had nothing left for the stretch that day. 9.
