North Carolina narrowly edged Maryland, 8-7, in the Final Four. This year s Terps are a year older and a year wiser -- boasting possibly ten upperclassmen in their starting lineup -- and the goal has never been clearer. tenacious D George Mason s Megan Udovich finally stymied Maryland s defense with a goal with 2:33 remaining in the first half to stop Maryland s streak of 67 consecutive minutes without surrendering a goal. Karri Ellen Johnson ended the day with a match-high four goals while adding an assist, two caused turnovers, a draw control and a ground ball. Sarah Mollison also tallied five points on two goals and three assists. Maryland held a decisive shot advantage, 33-11, and kept an opponent from reaching a double-digit goal output for the fourth consecutive time this season.
