DIVER MAGAZINE PRINT $35 per hour Estimated design time/cost: Full page hours Contact us for an estimate. COPY AND CONTRACT REGULATIONS Contracts must be completed within one year from the date of first insertion. Advertisers or advertising agencies agree to pay the applicable, lower frequency rate (shortrate) for incomplete contracts. Announcements of any rate changes will be made at least 60 days in advance of the closing date of the first issue affected. The Publisher reserves the right to reject any advertisement deemed unsuitable. When space is contracted for and no copy or layout instructions are received by the materials due date, the previous ad will be repeated. Conditions appearing on the contract, order or copy that conflict with the Publisher s policies will not be binding on the Publisher. Failure to make the order correspond in price or otherwise with the rate schedule is regarded only as a clerical error and publication is made and charged for upon terms of schedule in force without further notice. The Publisher s liability for any error will not exceed the cost of the space. The Publisher assumes no liability for errors in key numbers, nor if for any reason it becomes necessary to omit an advertisement. The Publisher shall have the right to hold the advertiser and/or its advertising agency jointly and severally liable for such monies as are due and payable to the Publisher for advertising which the advertiser or its agency ordered and which advertising was published. Any verbal instructions regarding contracts, insertion orders or changes to copy must be confirmed in writing. Positioning of ads is at the discretion of the Publisher. Use of DIVER magazine s editorial in advertising copy must be submitted to the Publisher for approval prior to the reproduction material due date. DIGITAL FILE MEDIA Files must be supplied on industry standard digital media, such as CD-ROM disks. All color ads must have a hardcopy-supplied proof. Colour cannot be guaranteed if proofing requirements are not met. All advertising materials (digital files, proofs, etc.), standard inks, and manufacturer s instructions should conform to Standard Web Offset Standards (SWOP). All specified colours will be matched as closely as possible with four-colour process ink. If advertiser requests use of a PMS match ink, additional charges will be added on a case-by-case basis. Hard-Copy Proofs Must Be SWOP Compliant Any of the following are acceptable digital colour proofs: Kodak Approval, Iris Ink Jet, Rainbow or Kodak Dye Sub. To ensure the proof quality, the final proof must be made from the files submitted for plating. Note: We cannot be responsible for errors in the final output of ads that are not accompanied by a hard-copy proof. Production Costs Advertising agencies will receive a 15 percent commission if complete digital files and acceptable proofs are supplied for four-colour reproduction. If additional charges are incurred, the advertiser will be contacted before work is completed. Advertiser and advertising agencies sending in files that are not compliant to the supplied file specifications forfeit the 15 percent commission. TERMS & CONDITIONS CANCELLATIONS Covers are not cancelable. Cancellations are not accepted after the insertion order closing date. Advertisers who cancel their contract before it is complete will be short-rated at the rate earned and will be responsible for costs of added-value programs received during the contract year (i.e., ad profiles, custom merchandising programs, etc.). FREQUENCY RATES Frequency rates are based on number of issues in which you advertise in a 12-month period. Frequency rates are allowed in advance only with signed contracts listing specific issues and received by the first closing date. Otherwise, frequency rates are allowed as earned. Rebates will be made to advertisers who were billed at one-issue rates and who later earn frequency discounts during a 12-month period. BILLING INFORMATION Advertising agency commission to recognized agencies: 15%. Agency commissions are not paid on production charges. Bills rendered approximately two weeks prior to to onsale date preceding publication. Finance charge for invoices outstanding beyond 30 days: 1% per month. New advertisers must pay in full for initial ad with order. SPECIAL SERVICES INSERTS/SPECIAL UNITS Furnished inserts of all types are available, including multi-page sections and brochures, gatefolds and cards. Charges will vary depending on the specific insert and current inserting charges. Inserting charges are non- commissionable. Contact your territory manager for information, rates and specifications. All prices quoted are contingent upon inspection and approval of a draftsman s dummy, blueline or sample prior to materials deadline. Insert copy is subject to approval by the publisher prior to binding. A 5% overage must be included for all inserts.
