2 PREVIEW : PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN - STADE DE REIMS Feature Preview Paris Saint-Germain will hope to cap their Ligue 1-winning season with a final triumph as they host Stade de Reims before the title celebrations begin in earnest at the Parc des Princes. With the Coupe de France final against Ligue 2 side AJ Auxerre and the prospect of completing an unprecedented domestic treble still to come on 30 May, the champagne may not flow as freely as it might come the full-time whistle on Saturday evening, but the atmosphere will no doubt be festive. Last weekend's 2-1 victory at Montpellier Hérault SC was more impressive than the one-goal margin of victory suggests, and an eighth successive league win was enough to clinch a third straight top-flight crown, the fifth in Paris' short but glorious history. "This title has a special taste, it's the third, it was more difficult than the other years," admitted midfielder Blaise Matuidi, whose side only hit top spot after Week 30 having watched first Olympique de Marseille and then Olympique Lyonnais lead the challenge to Paris' crown. "We have often been the hunters in this league, we did what we had to do to win it. We fully deserve this trophy. We're winners, and we have something historic to aim for, but first we're going to savour this victory. Paris Saint-Germain have shown that they're a great team this season." "To be champion makes things more comfortable when preparing for this game," defender Marquinhos said. "There's less pressure, but we have one final game to win in front of our fans. It's always fantastic to win trophies. It's a very special moment. It was a little harder to win than last season. We have had to fight to the end, be at 100 per cent, and that makes it even more enjoyable." Aside from their imperious recent form and unbeaten home record this season, history suggests Paris will sign off on a winning note. Reims last won a league game in the capital nearly 40 years ago, and lost the corresponding fixture 3-0 last season. The Champagne side come to the Parc des Princes without pressure, however, having secured their top-flight status with a 1-0 win over Stade Rennais FC last weekend as they registered a second successive victory and a third triumph in their last four matches under interim boss Olivier Guégan. "We were in a delicate position, but we have turned things round. We mustn't hide the fact we had difficulties and we must learn lessons for next season," warned Guégan, who took over when Jean-Luc Vasseur was sacked in early April. The winning goal against Rennes came from Gaëtan Charbonnier, and he and another former Paris striker, David Ngog, will pose the main threat to the hosts' ambitions of ending the Ligue 1 season on a high note. "I had some great times in Paris. 3 - HISTORY: Paris Saint-Germain and Stade de Reims have played eight L1 games in the capital - the hosts winning five, the visitors two. - Paris are unbeaten in their last five home league games against Reims (3W 2D), winning the last three. - Reims' last league win at the Parc des Princes was a 3-2 triumph in December LAST SEASON: Paris were 3-0 winners when the pair met in Week 32. Edinson Cavani (43') opened the scoring before Reims defender Aïssa Mandi scored a rare brace of own-goals (48', 89'). Paris had also won 3-0 in Week 14 - Lucas (25') Jérémy Ménez (60') and Ibrahimovic (90+1') got the goals. - THIS SEASON: Their opening-day meeting ended 2-2. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (7', 63') struck twice, either side of goals from Prince Oniangué (22') and Antoine Devaux (34') for the hosts. - OLD BOYS: Reims defender Grégory Bourillon joined Paris from Stade Rennais FC in 2007, and made 36 L1 appearances (0 goals) for them before moving to FC Lorient in January Gaëtan Charbonnier never played a first-team game for Paris, but was on the club's books during the season. - David Ngog made his L1 debut with Paris during the campaign and went on to appear 18 times in total in the top flight (1 goal) before moving to Liverpool in summer Antoine Conté made one L1 appearance for Paris before joining Reims on loan last season. The switch was made permanent last summer. - PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN - GENERAL: Paris come into this weekend already crowned Ligue 1 champions. They have 80 points from 37 games, eight points clear of Olympique Lyonnais in second. They have won 23, drawn 11 and lost just three of their games to date. - Laurent Blanc's side had not been higher than second after a matchday until beating FC Lorient 3-1 in Week 30. They have been permanent members of the top four since a 2-0 win at SM Caen on September 24 (Wk 7). This time last season, Paris were top with 86 points, seven points clear of AS Monaco in second. - Paris clinched a third successive Ligue 1 title with a 2-1 win at Montpellier Hérault SC last weekend. Blaise Matuidi (17') and Ezequiel Lavezzi (25') scored for the champions with Anthony Mounier (40') pulling one back. - The Paris line-up against Montpellier (4-3-3): Sirigu; Aurier, Thiago Silva (c), David Luiz, Maxwell; Rabiot, Cabaye, Matuidi; Pastore (Marquinhos 77'), Cavani, Lavezzi (Lucas 69') - PSG have won their last eight Ligue 1 games and have lost just one of their last 17. They had already won six Ligue 1 games in a row this season, from Week in October and November. - PSG have scored 80 goals so far this season, giving them the most prolific attack in Ligue 1 coming into the weekend. They have scored three goals or more on 13 separate occasions this season, including in their 6-1 demolition of LOSC Lille in Week 34 and their 6-0 thumping of En Avant Guingamp in Week 36. They have failed to score at all in four games. - Blanc's side have scored 34 goals in their last ten Ligue 1 matches and 22 in their last five, conceding five in that latter run. - The 6-1 win against Lille in Week 34 was the first time PSG had scored six goals in a game since beating FC Sochaux-Montbéliard by the same scoreline at the Parc des Princes on April 22, Ibrahimovic is their leading scorer with 19 Ligue 1 goals, followed by Cavani with 16 and Lavezzi with eight. - Ibrahimovic has 30 goals in all competitions and has scored three hat-tricks. Cavani has 27 and Lavezzi has nine. - Cavani's hat-trick in the 6-0 thrashing of En Avant Guingamp in Week 36 means he has found the net eight times in his last six league games and has struck ten goals in his last seven competitive outings for Paris. - Ibrahimovic has scored eight of his 19 Ligue 1 goals this season from the penalty spot. 4 - Javier Pastore has provided 10 assists this season and only Dimitri Payet of Marseille (16) has more, while Marco Verratti has laid on seven goals and Ibrahimovic six. - Ibrahimovic finished Ligue 1 top scorer for the second successive season last season with 26 goals, four fewer than his previous campaign in France. Team-mate Cavani was the top flight's joint-second top scorer with 16 goals. - Ibrahimovic scored 41 goals in all competitions last season, beating Carlos Bianchi's previous club record of 39 goals in one campaign, set in Cavani netted 25 altogether. - Ibrahimovic provided 11 assists last season, a tally bettered only by AS Monaco's James Rodríguez (12). - PSG's total of 84 goals scored last season was the highest of any Ligue 1 team - Monaco, who had the second-highest tally, scored Paris have conceded 34 goals thus far this season. Three sides - AS Monaco (26), Saint-Étienne (29) and Lyon (33) - had let in fewer coming into the weekend. - They have kept 13 clean sheets so far, though that against Nantes in Week 36 was their first in eight and they have had only three in 14 Ligue 1 games since the start of February. - Their 4-2 defeat at Bastia in January was the first time they had let in four goals in a game since a 4-4 draw at Lyon in February Their 3-2 loss at Bordeaux in March is the only other game in which they have conceded more than twice. - PSG conceded a league-low 23 goals in total last season, three fewer than LOSC Lille, who had the second-best defensive record. - No PSG player has appeared in every Ligue 1 game this season. Salvatore Sirigu has started 34 of the 37 matches. - Matuidi and Cavani have featured in 34 league games while Pastore has played in 33. They have lost just three of their last 70 home games in all competitions. - PSG's average home attendance so far this season is 45,761, marginally up on last season's average of 45,420 and the second-highest in Ligue 1 behind Marseille.
