2 PREVIEW : PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN - STADE BRESTOIS 29 Paris Saint-Germain - Stade Brestois 29 Feature Preview Champions Paris Saint-Germain will be looking to finally celebrate their Ligue 1 title in style when they take on relegated Stade Brestois at the Parc des Princes on Saturday. Last weekend was an emotional one for both PSG and Brest. The capital club finally secured a third Ligue 1 crown in the club's history with a 1-0 victory away to Lyon, while a ninth consecutive defeat confirmed Brest as the first club to be relegated to Ligue 2. Paris' week of celebrations didn't go according to plan, however, with a proposed Ligue 1 trophy presentation at the iconic Place de Trocadero was cut short due to unruly elements in the 10,000-strong crowd. A presentation dinner and parade down the Seine river was then cancelled. Then, on Thursday, David Beckham announced that he will be hanging up the boots at the end of the current campaign. "I am very sad," declared Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi. "I would have loved to see him play one more year in the colours of Paris Saint-Germain. "It was an immense honour convincing him to join Paris Saint-Germain last January, watching him bring his exceptional talent to the team and, now, to know that the last jersey he will wear will be ours. We are discussing the possibilities to keep working together at Paris Saint-Germain." The capital club hopes to turn Saturday's last home match of the season into a double celebration: "Saturday, for his last game at the Parc des Princes, we count on all of you to show your joy for having seen him in Paris in the PSG colours as well as to celebrate the entire team for its fantastic victory in French Ligue 1," concluded Al-Khelaifi. PSG are the best home team in Ligue 1 with 40 points garnered from 12 wins, four draws and two losses. They are undefeated at home in 2013 with a draw against Ajaccio in Week 20, followed by six home victories in a row, before a 1-1 draw with Valenciennes in Week 35. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the club's top scorer at the Parc des Princes with 11 of his 27 goals scored at home. PSG have won all 11 home matches in which they have scored first. They have won one, drawn two and lost two when the opposition has opened the scoring. Brest became the first side to be relegated this season when they suffered a ninth consecutive Ligue 1 defeat at the hands of Sochaux. Sloan Privat scored a double for Sochaux (47', 81') while Florian Lejeune was sent off for Brest (77'). Brest have scored just two goals in their last nine matches, conceding 20. They sit bottom of the table with 29 points from eight wins, five draws and 23 defeats. Brest's last win was a 2-0 triumph away to Girondins de Bordeaux in Week 26. Caretaker coach Corentin Martins has lost all six matches since taking over from Landry Chauvin. Paris Saint-Germain - Stade Brestois 29 - HISTORY: Paris Saint-Germain have entertained Stade Brestois 12 times in Ligue 1 at the Parc des Princes, winning six, drawing five and losing just once. - Brest's one and only victory over PSG came 2-1 in Week 9 of the season. - Since their return to Ligue 1 two years ago, Brest have lost both their matches in the capital, 3-1 in December 2010 and 1-0 in Week 5 of last season. Javier Pastore (68') scored the only goal of the game. - THIS SEASON: In Week 19 of the current campaign, PSG recorded a 3-0 victory over Brest at the Stade Francis-Le Blé. Brest's Abdoulwhaid Sissoko was sent off in the 34th minute of the match and although it was 0-0 at half time, Zlatan Ibrahimovic (55') both scored Kevin Gameiro (73') in the second half before former PSG full-back Bernard Mendy scored a stoppage time own goal (90+2'). - PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN - GENERAL: Paris claimed the Ligue 1 crown with a 1-0 win over Lyon in Week It is the third Ligue 1 title in the club's history after triumphs in 1986 and They lead Olympique de Marseille by seven points, with two matches left to play. - Jérémy Ménez scored the only goal of the game with a crisp left-foot finish after lead up work by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Motta. - Paris have picked up 77 points from their 36 matches so far, including a league high 23 victories, seven draws and a league low five defeats. - Last season Montpellier won Ligue 1 with a total of 82 points, the highest of any side since Olympique Lyonnais registered 84 points on their way to the 2006 crown. - Paris boast the best attack in Ligue 1 with 63 goals scored and have scored at least once in their last 13 competitive outings. - Les Rouge et Bleu also lay claim to the best defence in Ligue 1 with just 21 goals conceded in 36 games. - With regular 'keeper Salvatore Sirigu suspended, Nicholas Douchez kept the club's 23rd cleansheet of the season. - Paris kept eight consecutive clean sheets in Ligue 1 between Week 16 and Week Sirigu has kept 22 clean sheets in 32 appearances. - Ligue 1 top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored 27 goals this season. 5 - COUPE DE LA LIGUE: Brest were knocked out at the first hurdle, losing 4-2 at home to OGC Nice in the Round of Brest have gone out of the Coupe de la Ligue at the first hurdle in five consecutive seasons. - FRENCH CUP: Brest went out in the Round of 16, losing 3-0 at FC Lorient on 27 February. - SUSPENSIONS: Florian Lejeune is suspended for the remaining two matches of the season after being sent off in last weekend's 2-0 loss to Sochaux. - INJURIES: Paul Baysse (knee ligaments), Alexandre Alphonse (Achilles) and John Hartock (fractured hand) are all long-term absentees. - Brahim Ferradj (knee), Andé Auras (ankle), Ahmed Kantari (knee), Jonathan Ayité (hamstring) are all out for the rest of the season. - Bernard Mendy (hamstring) and Charlison Benschop (calf) are both doubts for the Paris match, while Ousmane Coulibaly (hamstring) and Ismael Traoré (knee) will the Paris match but are hopeful to be available in time for the final match against Nancy. - TRIVIA: Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva and Blaise Matuidi have all been nominated for the UNFP Player of the year award, while Carlo Ancelotti (Coach of the Year), Salvatore Sirigu (Goalkeeper of the Year) and Marco Verratti (Young Player of the Year) have also all been nominated for awards. - Mamadou Sakho, Blaise Matuidi and Jérémy Ménez have all been named in the France squad for next month's friendly matches with Uruguay and Brazil. - U19 European champion with France in 2000, Bernard Mendy spent eight seasons at PSG between 2000 and 2008, winning two French Cups (2004, 2006) and the Coupe de la Ligue (2008). - Brest teammates Ahmed Kantari and Tripy Makonda are both products of the PSG youth academy, however Kantari never played for the capital club in Ligue 1, Makonda made nine L1 appearances between 2008 and Paris Saint-Germain - Promoted to the French first division for the first time in 1974, PSG are the only French club never to have been relegated from Ligue 1, and are taking part in their 37th consecutive season in the top flight. - Ligue 1 champions in 1986 and 1994, PSG have won eight Coupes de France (1982, '83, '93, '95, '98, 2004, 2006, 2010) and three Coupes de la Ligue (1993, '98, 2008). - PSG's last piece of silverware came when they beat Monaco 1-0 in the Coupe de France final.
