2 PREVIEW : PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN - AS NANCY LORRAINE Feature Preview Paris Saint-Germain, with the best home record in Ligue 1, will be confident of getting back to winning ways as they host Nancy, the club with the worst away record in the division. PSG have won their last six league matches at the Parc des Princes, while Nancy's draw at Rennes in Week 6 is their solitary away point of the season to date. A 1-1 draw at Bordeaux in Week 13 put an end to Paris Saint-Germain's six-game winning streak and saw them miss out on boasting a five-point lead heading into Week 14. Nancy, meanwhile, are on the up having claimed both their league wins in their last two home matches. Despite PSG's lofty league position there has been plenty of speculation as to Antoine Kombouaré's job security as coach. At the start of the week Nancy coach Jean Fernandez, the most experienced current Ligue 1 boss, leapt to his counterpart's defence. Fernandez said: "Antoine is getting good results. He's a quality coach. He's got everything needed to succeed. In football I talk with a lot of people and people are unanimous when it comes to him. People say PSG aren't playing well. He's certainly got quality players but you cannot build a side by simply waving a magic wand. You have to give the coach time and show some patience. At Real Madrid, even Jose Mourinho needed a year before having success." Later in the week PSG sporting director Leonardo gave a round of media interviews in which he spoke about Kombouaré's future. The Brazilian said: "The idea is that he will be there until the end of the season. When you get married, you are not thinking about divorce. We want to win everything and we have the means to do it. But things can happen fast. Marseille lost three matches in a row and some were calling for the head of the coach. There was never a direct offer made to Carlo Ancelotti. Ancelotti is a big name but it doesn't change Kombouaré's position. The situation is clear. Antoine has known it since the start. What has changed is our position in the championship. We are top so we have to think about winning the title. If we don't finish first, things will be worse than today, so we cannot afford to hide." PSG's 4-1 win in was their only victory in the last five home games against Nancy, with the other four finishing in draws. It was also their biggest win in the fixture. Nancy have a super record at the Parc des Princes, winning nine times to PSG's eight in the contest, yet the Lorraine club have not tasted the joys of a capital victory since January Nancy have been in the bottom three since Week 3, although recent home wins over Nice and Brest have improved the mood around the club. Midfielder Reynald Lemaitre said: "We're not going to Paris as victims, even if a defeat would be a logical result. Even if we've climbed a bit up the table we're still in the relegation zone and we really need to pick up points, no matter the quality of our opponents. Our only objective is to get a good result at the Parc des Princes." PSG must cope without suspended midfielders Mohamed Sissoko and Jérémy Ménez, although they are boosted by the return of French international Blaise Matuidi after six weeks out with a thigh injury. Nancy have suffered a blow with Daniel Niculae, scorer of the winning goals against Nice and Brest, out with a groin injury sustained in a goalscoring return to the Romania side, following a year out of favour, in a 2-1 loss at Belgium on Friday November 11. Fernandez said: "It's very irritating. Daniel is a true leader and his absence obliges us to modify our plans." 3 - HISTORY: PSG have hosted Nancy 24 times in the top division. PSG have won eight, there have been seven draws, and nine wins for the away side. - In Week 35 of the season PSG drew 2-2 with Nancy. Mevlut Erding opened the scoring for PSG (4'). Christophe Jallet was sent off in the 20th minute in conceding a penalty which Landry N'Guemo converted. Zoumana Camara (45+1') put PSG in front again, only for Youssouf Hadji (68') to equalise. Reynald Lemaitre was sent off for Nancy in the 71st minute. - PSG's 4-1 win in was their only victory in the last five games, with the other four finishing in draws. It was also their biggest win in the fixture. - Nancy's last victory in the fixture was 2-1 in January In Week 19 of the season Nancy ran out 2-0 home winners over PSG (Hadji 66' and 83'). - In all Ligue 1 games between the two clubs Nancy have the slight edge with 16 wins, 17 draws and 15 losses. - PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN: - GENERAL: PSG head into Week 14 top of the league with 30 points from 13 games (9W, 3D, 1L). - PSG hit top spot for the first time in the wake of their 3-0 triumph at Montpellier in Week 8. They have stayed there ever since. - PSG are unbeaten in their last 12 league matches (9W, 3D) since a shock opening day loss at home to Lorient. It's the club's longest unbeaten league run since going 17 matches undefeated in between September 2003 and March In Week 13 PSG drew 1-1 at Bordeaux. Mohamed Sissoko (10') put PSG in front with a header which was the former Juventus and Liverpool midfielder's first-ever goal in Ligue 1. In-form Yoan Gouffran (13') equalised for Les Girondins. PSG had won their previous six in the league with the last time they'd dropped points being a 2-2 draw at promoted Evian-Thonon-Gaillard in Week 6. - The sixth consecutive league win (4-2 at home to Caen) equalled the club record set in and PSG are second in the Ligue 1 scoring stakes behind Montpellier with 26 goals plundered. - Striker Kevin Gameiro has not scored in his last seven competitive appearances for club and country, his longest scoring drought since the season. - Gameiro heads into Week 14 level with fellow French international forward Olivier Giroud (Montpellier) at the top of the scoring charts with eight goals. - The only league match in which PSG failed to score was the 1-0 loss to Lorient in Week 1. - PSG have scored three goals or more on four occasions, though the Caen match is the first time they have done so at home. - Javier Pastore has not managed a successful dribble in the last two league games (none of 3 attempted against both Caen and Bordeaux). - Pastore and Nene have both scored six times this season. Nene's haul includes four penalties. - Jérémy Ménez is PSG's top assists man with four, all from open play. - PSG have the best defensive record in Ligue 1 with 11 goals conceded. - PSG have kept four clean sheets. - HOME FORM: PSG have the best home record in the league with 18 points (6W, 1L) from seven matches at the Parc des Princes. - PSG won 4-2 at home to Caen in Week 12. Nene (20' and 76' pens.), Jérémy Ménez (55') and Javier Pastore (88') netted for PSG. Benjamin Nivet was sent off in the 19th minute for Caen. Thomas Heurtaux (12') and Jerry Vandam (82') bagged the Caen goals. - Three of PSG's four clean sheets in the league have been at home. - PSG have won their last six league home games; their best run since winning nine in a row between March and October Nene has scored all six of his league goals at home this season. 4 - The victory means PSG are in second place in Group F, three points behind leaders Athletic Bilbao, and three points clear of Salzburg, whom they play in Austria in their penultimate group-stage game on 1 December. COUPE DE LA LIGUE: PSG were eliminated from the competition at the last 16 stage in late October, losing 3-2 at Dijon. It was only their third defeat in 18 competitive fixtures this season. -Like Ligue 1's five other European representatives, PSG had been given a bye through the round of INTERNATIONALS: Mamadou Sakho played the full 90 minutes as France drew 0-0 with Belgium on Tuesday. Jérémy Ménez came on for the final 19 minutes. Ménéz played the full 90 minutes in the previous Friday's 1-0 win over the United States the previous Friday, a match in which Kevin Gameiro featured for the first hour. - Salvatore Sirigu was in the Italy squad for friendlies with Uruguay (H 0-1) and Poland (A 2-0) but featured in neither. - Diego Lugano captained Uruguay in the 1-0 friendly win at Italy at Rome's Stadio Olimpico. Lugano also skippered his country in a 4-0 World Cup qualifying win in Montevideo over Chile the previous Friday. - Javier Pastore played no part in Argentina's 2-1 win in Colombia on Tuesday in a World Cup qualifier. Pastore played the full 90 minutes in a 1-1 home draw with Bolivia in qualifying the previous Friday in Buenos Aires. - Siaka Tiéné was in the Ivory Coast squad but their scheduled friendly with Senegal in Amiens was cancelled after the cancellation of a Johannesburg-Paris flight which the Ivorians were due to take after drawing 1-1 in a friendly in South Africa. Tiéné played the full 90 in that game. - SUSPENSIONS: Mohamed Sissoko and Jérémy Ménez are suspended. - INJURIES: Guillaume Hoarau (shoulder, groin) is injured and recently had shoulder surgery. Clément Chantôme (thigh) is unlikely to make it, but Blaise Matuidi (thigh) could return. - NANCY: - GENERAL: Nancy stand 18th in the table heading into Week 14 with 11 points from 13 games (2W, 5D, 6L). - In Week 13 Nancy were 2-1 home winners over Brest. Jung-Jo Gook (64') gave Nancy the lead. Benoit Lesoimier (85') equalised before Daniel Niculae (87') popped up with the winner. - The Brest victory was only Nancy's second of the season. The first was a 1-0 home win over Nice in Week 11 with Niculae (54') netting the winner. - Nancy slipped into the bottom three after a 2-1 Week 3 home defeat to Sochaux and have remained there ever since. - Nancy have kept only two clean sheets all season. - Nancy are joint-tenth in the defensive table with 16 goals conceded. - Nancy are joint-bottom scorers in the league, with Ajaccio, with ten goals scored per cent of Nancy's goals have been scored in the second half. - Daniel Niculae and Jung Jo-Gook are both joint-top club scorers with two goals each. - Reynald Lemaitre has contributed two assists this season. - AWAY FORM: Nancy have taken just one point away from home all season, a 1-1 draw at Rennes in Week 6. Cameroon's scheduled friendly with Algeria in Algiers on Tuesday was cancelled after the Cameroon players refused to travel. Ndy Assembe came on after 23 minutes against Sudan in Marrakech after Carlos Kameni was injured. Ndy Assembe started against Morocco two days later as Cameroon won on penalties to lift the LG Cup Africa. - Bakaye Traoré, back from a two-month absence with malaria, played for an hour for Mali in a 1-1 draw with Burkina Faso in St-Leu last Friday. - Fouad Rachid made his Comores debut in a 1-0 home loss to Mozambique last Friday. - SUSPENSIONS: None. - INJURIES: Daniel Niculae hurt his groin playing against Belgium for Romania and is out of Sunday's game.
