2 PREVIEW : SC BASTIA - OLYMPIQUE DE MARSEILLE Feature Preview Olympique de Marseille aim to bounce back from Champions League disappointment when they play at Bastia on Saturday. OM lost 2-1 at home to Arsenal despite playing well against the English club and have now gone three games without a win in all competitions with the result against the Gunners coming off the back of a 1-1 draw at Toulouse and a 2-1 home loss to Ligue 1 leaders Monaco. There were plenty of positives to take out of the Arsenal performance, if not the result, not least the outstanding display from Giannelli Imbula on his Champions League debut. The France Under-21s midfielder, signed from Guingamp this summer for a fee estimated at seven million euros, already looks a shrewd acquisition and OM coach Elie Baup was full of praise for the rangy 21-year-old. Baup said: "The game went very well for him. He has that capacity to break forward and also has a really good vision of the game, meaning he plays good passes. He plays good vertical football and gets the ball to his team-mates quicker than he did at the start of the season. He's already showing progress in his work. He's a really promising player." Florian Thauvin, the deadline day signing from Lille, made his Champions League bow off the bench after making his first OM start against Toulouse the previous weekend. Thauvin's controversial switch has seen him heavily criticised for his attitude in the French media but fellow new boy Mario Lemina - brought in from Lorient - leapt to the defence of a player he won the Under-20 World Cup with earlier this year. Lemina said: "I got to know Flo during the World Cup and we spent a month and a half sharing the same bedroom. He's a golden lad. Today he's an OM team-mate and that's a good thing." Bastia-OM is a fixture with a tragic history. Furiani was the scene of one of Europe's worst stadium disasters when, on May , a temporary stand collapsed prior to the Coupe de France semi-final against Olympique de Marseille, killing 18 fans and injuring thousands. Bastia have broken their record for season ticket sales, busting through last season's 10,581 earlier this week, the Corsican supporters won over by the club's transfer market activity and the ambition of coach Frédéric Hantz. Despite currently having the second smallest budget in the division - only Ajaccio's is lower - Bastia have attracted the likes of Milo? Krasi?, Ryad Boudebouz and Sébastien Squillaci, and managed to keep hold of Wahbi Khazri, who scored a cracking goal in the 1-1 draw at Guingamp last weekend. France number three keeper Mickaël Landreau saved Mustapha Yatabaré's penalty to ensure Bastia held on to a point. The 34-year-old, beaten by a Yatabaré penalty minutes earlier, is a specialist when it comes to keeping efforts out from 12 yards. The Yatabaré save was the 40th of the 2001 and 2011 Ligue 1 champion's career, although he'd not saved one since May Hantz has targeted European qualification in the medium term, although the immediate focus is on Saturday's hosting of Marseille who were 2-1 winners in Corsica in Week 17 last season. Assistant coach Frédéric Née said: "It's an important match because we need to collect points at home. But it's Marseille coming to town and that adds spice to this particular game, extra pressure too. It's obvious that of our 19 home games we need to win a lot of them. "We're approaching Marseille as opponents we need to beat and we want to give our supporters something to cheer. Last season they managed six wins in a row before succumbing to their first loss. - OM are second in the attack table with eight goals scored. Only Monaco (9) have scored more. OM have netted in all five games this season. - André-Pierre Gignac and Dimitri Payet have both scored three times. 5 SC Bastia - Sporting Club de Bastia finished 12th last season in their 30th top-flight campaign, but their first since Corsica's most popular club recovered their place in Ligue 1 after winning consecutive promotions. - Founded in 1905, Bastia have been second-tier champions twice, but their only major trophy success is the Coupe de France in 1981, when they beat Saint-Etienne 2-1 in the final, with Cameroon great Roger Milla among the scorers. - After a best-ever third-place finish in 1977, I Turchini also reached the UEFA Cup final in 1978, losing 3-0 on aggregate to Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven. - Their 16,160-capacity Stade Armand-Cesari is in Furiani, just outside Bastia, and was the scene of one of Europe's worst stadium disasters when, on May , a temporary stand collapsed prior to the Coupe de France semi-final against Olympique de Marseille, killing 18 fans and injuring thousands. - The club will this season share their ground with neighbours CA Bastia, who will play in the second tier for the first time in their history but whose own home is not deemed adequate. - Coach Frédéric Hantz, who played notably for FC Metz and OGC Nice, oversaw Bastia's Championnat National and Ligue 2 title triumphs after taking over in 2010, and has since consolidated them in the top flight.
