5 Mandated Reprting Law In February f 2018, the Prtecting Yung Victims frm Sexual Abuse and Safe Sprt Authrizatin Act f 2017 went int effect The Law has a three-prnged apprach: 1. Any adult interacting with amateur athletes in the prgram has a duty t reprt abuse and r suspected abuse within a 12 hur perid (Cnnecticut). EVERY adult is a mandatry reprter. 2. Recgnized by U.S. Sccer as ne f the tp 10 yuth develpment prgrams in the cuntry. We are the first CT club t be partnering with the New England Revlutin Academy. Educate Teaching, caching and educating players, caches, parents and rganizatins in an envirnment that is always challenging, prfessinal, cmpetitive and fun. 10 Fall CT Cup Inf CT Cup cmpetitin starts at U11. CT Cup Draw published Sept. 12 n CJSA website. Weekend games must be scheduled fr start between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM fr the Fall Cmpetitin. If teams mutually agree, games may be scheduled utside f stated hurs but must be played by date specified by cup cmmittee. Games played n the designated day and between the stated hurs DO NOT require agreement f away team. If yu are hsting a CT Cup game that weekend, let Sctt Schneider knw ASAP s that we can find field(s) and schedule games. 17 GHSC Develpmental Philsphy As a club we aim t: Develp well runded sccer players in an apprpriate envirnment which teaches the GHSC cre values. Create an envirnment fr all players t play with expressin, creativity and t play the crrect way rather than impse restrictins and strict tactics n ur players. Fcus n the lngevity f a players' develpment, as ppsed t shrt-term results and perfrmances. Encurage and emphasize the cre sccer attributes f technique and ball mastery abve physical attributes. Prvide a learning envirnment where all levels f players will enjy their sccer experience.

18 Psitin Rtatin All players will rtate all psitins including the gal keeper at the U9-12 age grup. This des nt mean that yu shuld rtate them all ver the field during a game! If yu can keep a player in defense ver the curse f a game, r the left side f the field (left defense and left midfield), that will allw a player the pprtunity t fully experience and adjust t that psitin/mindset. Over the whle seasn each player will play every psitin. Starting at 11v11 U13 and up we ask children t play a defensive rle (defender/defensive midfield), an attacking rle (Midfield/Striker) r Galkeeper. Plan the player rtatins and substitutes befre the game, d nt d this n the fly!

19 All players MUST play 50% f each game. Playing Time Plicy This includes all friendlies, league games, and Cup games. If a player habitually misses practices, playing time can be affected. But any exceptins t the playing time plicy must be crdinated with Travel Directr and Directr f Caching.

20 Player Sharing As a club we have the pprtunity fr children t mve frm team t team within their age grup. We can als have players play up t the year abve. This is an added ptin fr us t keep ur sccer players in a cmpetitive envirnment fr them t keep prgressing in a psitive envirnment. It als helps teams with smaller rsters. If a team needs a player/s fr a game t help g t the trainer and cach, the trainer will recmmend players t use. This is a tw sided cnversatin between the trainer and the caches. Player sharing is NOT fr every player n the rster, and may NOT ccur every week f the seasn.

21 Friendlies We shuld be decreasing the number f friendlies n a Saturday. Alternatively we are prmting: Extra technical practice Tactical Sessin- U11 t U14/15 (3 per seasn) Unstructured play r small sided games. A rest day All Friendlies MUST be played with passes. If nt, yu persnally culd be held liable if smething happens. It is als a new League rule. N Exceptins! Recmmendatins U9-U10: 1-2 per seasn U11-U12: 2-3 per seasn U13 & U14/15: 3-4 per seasn

22 Turnaments U9-14/15 (1 Fall/GHSC turnament plus 1 mre if wanted in Spring) The participatin in these turnaments by yuth teams ften creates a win-at-all cst attitude and has a negative influence n player develpment. This high level f participatin in turnaments effects the develpment f the player in the fllwing way: 1. Time is reduced fr develpment, i.e. practice 2. Excessive play at cmpetitive turnaments can be detrimental t individual grwth and develpment 3. Winning becmes the main issue fr the cach rather than the lng term develpment f the player. 23 Style f Play Apply a style f sccer which is based n sund technique and tactical understanding by playing the crrect way. The crrect way includes: Play frm the back and thrugh the thirds f the field. A pssessin style with emphasis f cmfrt n the ball, playing in all directins t retain pssessin and g frward t attack when pssible. Our players shuld have a clear decisin making prcess n the ball, where we play with cntrl and thught. A bt r kick away shuld nt be cheered as this play is nt prmted by ur caches and ges against the clubs style f play. Encurage creativity arund the whle team where children are prmted t express themselves withut fear f failure. The players shuld have the freedm t play and learn frm their experiences bth psitive and negative.

25 Age Gals U9 - U12: Emphasize the imprtance f individual technique and ball mastery. Make each player aware f tactical aspects f the game apprpriate t their age and ability. Allw each player t experience all psitins n the field t aid the individual s develpment. Measure success in the develpment f the individual nt team results. U13 - U14/15 Cntinue the prgress f the individual s technique, ball mastery and team tactical awareness. Implement tactical training aspects f the game.
