Prior to facing the Red Sox in the 1918 World Series, the Cubs had played 12 regular season games in Fenway against the Boston Braves, with that last contest taking place July 26, Overall, this series marks the fourth all-time in regular season play between the two franchises the teams most recently met at Wrigley Field, June 15-17, 2012, with the Cubs dropping two-of-three. PUTTING TOGETHER ALL-STAR WORTHY FIRST HALF: Anthony Rizzo has 14 homers since April 30, the most in the N.L. and tied for sixth-most in the majors Rizzo has 35 walks, a.400 on-base percentage and a.956 OPS in his last 54 games dating to April 30 he also has 11 doubles, 14 homers and 34 RBI during this stretch Rizzo has a.394 OBP in 79 games this season, eighthbest in the N.L. of his 11 homers since May 8, nine have given the Cubs the lead and one has tied the game.
