The NCAA released its first RPI report and TCU comes in at No. 15. With its five-game winning streak, the Horned Frogs are ranked in the top 10 of all the major polls. Cam Warner hit safely in all three games at Wichita State and now owns a 16-game hitting streak, the longest active streak in the Big 12. Dane Steinhagen homered in back-to-back games over the weekend to give him four on the season. TCU continues to pace the league offensively with a.315 batting average (18th nationally), a.414 on-base percentage (13th nationally) and a.494 slugging percentage (14th nationally). Elliott Barzilli tops the Big 12 with a.455 average and ranks sixth nationally. TCU has four hitters in the top 10 in RBIs in the Big 12, led by Luken Baker s 31. TCU committed just one error over the weekend and ranks second in the Big 12 with a.976 fielding percentage. HOME NOTABLES TCU will play 29 home games during the 2016 regular season. Runs have come in bunches for the Horned Frogs this season. TCU has scored at least one run in 89 innings this season. In 53 innings, TCU has pushed across at least two runs. In 25 of those innings, TCU has scored four or more runs. TCU s most prolific run-scoring innings are the 3rd through 6th innings. The Horned Frogs have scored 135 of their 230 runs in the middle four innings. TEARING IT UP Elliott Barzilli has had a torrid first half of the campaign, ranking fifth nationally with his.455 batting average. The junior enters the week carrying a 12 game hitting streak. During the streak, Barzilli is hitting.488 with eight multi-hit games and five multiple-rbi contests. This season, Barzilli has hit safely in 25 of 27 games. He leads the team and the Big 12 with 16 multi-hit games and 11 multiple-rbi games. WALK THIS WAY Over the weekend, TCU hitters worked 23 walks, improving its season total to 146. The Horned Frogs rank second in the Big 12, just two behind league-leading Texas Tech. That mark also sits 15th nationally. Despite only having a plate appearance in 23 of the 27 games played this season, Austen Wade leads the team with 22 walks. He has worked two or more walks in seven games this season. Luken Baker is the only other Horned Frogs to have 20 walks on the season. Seven Frogs have 10 or more walks. #WINNING After dropping back-to-back games for the first time this season, TCU has responded with a five-game winning streak. During the streak, TCU is averaging 11.6 runs per game, while allowing just 4.0 per game. Elliott Barzilli paces the offensive group with a.500 average, while Cam Warner leads all hitters with 10 hits. Josh Watson has collected nine RBIs. On the mound, Jared Janczak has two of the team s five wins. Rex Hill leads the way with 10 strikeouts. Defensively, the Frogs have committed just two errors. STREAKING Cam Warner enters Tuesday s game with a 16-game hitting streak. The junior has started the last 16 games at second base and has collected a base hit in every contest. Over the course of the hitting streak, Warner has raised his average 45 points. He s hitting.333 (23-for-69) during the streak. On the season, Warner has collected eight multi-hit games and six multiple-rbi contests. He s hit safely in 23 of 26 games played. LEAVING THE PARK Last season, TCU hit 27 home runs during the season. The Frogs homered in just 18 of the team s 66 games. The long ball has come back into play for the Horned Frogs this season, who have 23 home runs through 27 games. TCU has hit a home run in 18 games this year. The Frogs have already surpassed the home run totals from 2013 (13) and 2014 (14). Fifteen of the team s 23 home runs have come with men on base. Six Horned Frogs have contributed at least two home runs this season. Josh Watson is bidding to be the second freshmen in a row to lead the team in home runs. He has six this season, ranking third in the Big 12. EARNING HIS STRIPES Jared Janczak redshirted last season in his first year with the program. The yearlong hiatus from game action has paid dividends for Janczak, who leads the team with 12 appearances. He s made the most of the opportunities, posting a 4-1 record in those 12 appearances. In 24 2/3 innings pitched, Janczak has 28 strikeouts. He has held opponents scoreless in eight of those appearances. Additionally, he has allowed just one of his eight inherited runners to score. EXTRA, EXTRA In the Saturday game against USC, TCU played its only extra-inning game of the season, topping USC in 10 innings. TCU has played 49 extra inning games since The Frogs hold a mark in those games. The Frogs were 4-3 in extra innings in 2015, including a 2-1 record in postseason play.
