TCU has matched its longest winning streak under the guidance of Jim Schlossnagle to 13 games with a 9-3 victory over Dallas Baptist on Tuesday. TCU s pitching staff continues to lower its ERA, lowering it to 3.25, a mark that ranks third in the Big 12. Luken Baker s seventh home run of the year pushed TCU s home run total to 30, tying for the Big 12 lead. Luken Baker stretched his hitting streak to 13 games, while Elliott Barzilli extended his to 10. Five Horned Frogs have on-base streaks of 10 or more games, led by 20 straight for Austen Wade. The Frogs are 11-for-11 in stolen bases over the last four games, ranking ninth nationally with 60 on the season. The Frogs have drawn 28 walks the last four game to bring its season total to 185, a mark that ranks 10th nationally. TCU is one of three Big 12 squads with over 300 strikeouts and is the only conference school with fewer than 100 walks allowed (90). ROAD NOTABLES TCU will play 23 road games during the 2017 regular season. The Horned Frogs have a 7-3 record on the road this season. TCU has won five straight road games since a 7-0 loss at Long Beach State. Twelve of TCUs final 21 regular season games are on the road. It s the second-longest active streak in the nation behind Oregon State s 23 game streak. TCU has been getting it done in all facets of the game, hitting.303 as a team, pitching to the tune of a 2.09 ERA and fielding at a.976 clip. Austen Wade leads the offensive surge with a.449 average (22-for-49). Evan Skoug leads the way with 18 RBIs during the streak. On the mound, Brian Howard leads the way with a trio of vicotries, while Jared Janczak has posted a miniscule 0.86 ERA. Durbin Feltman has four saves. The staff is limiting opponents to a.202 batting average. SPEEDY FROGS TCU has been successful in 11 of its last 11 stolen bases over the last four games bringing its season total to 60. The Frogs have swiped multiple bags in a game 17 times this year. TCU is undefeated in those contests. The Frogs pace the Big 12 and rank 11th nationally with 60 total stolen bases. The 71 stolen base attempts are also tops in the Big 12. Nolan Brown leads the league and ranks 12th nationally with 17 stolen bases. Austen Wade also boasts double-digit steals with 10. Eleven other Frogs have at least one stolen base. LEADING OFF Austen Wade has been a key cog in TCU s winning streak hitting in the lead-off spot. In 12 games played, Wade has led the Frogs with a.449 average. He raised his average 72 points to a team-best.339 in the 12 games. He has nine multi-hit games this year and ranks fourth on the team with eight multi-rbi contests. He enters Friday s contest carrying a 20 game on-base streak. He s tallied a hit in 16 of those games and boasts a.517 on-base percentage. HEATING UP Elliott Barzilli battled through a 10-game stretch from March that saw him register just one hit in 36 at-bats. In the 10 games that have followed, Barzilli has registered a hit in all of them. He has raised his average 59 points over the last nine games. Barzilli is hitting.342 (13-for- 38) during the streak with three doubles, two home runs and nine RBIs. TOUCHING HOME TCU is averaging 7.6 runs per game this season, a mark that leads the Big 12 and ranks 17th nationally. TCU has pushed across a run in 98 of 278 offensive innings this season, including multiple runs in 54 of those innings. The Frogs have scored at least three runs in 29 games this season and have surpassed five or more runs 25 times. TOUGH WITH TWO The Frogs have made their opponents work for the third out in almost every inning of the season. TCU has scored 104 of its 244 (42.6%) runs with two outs in the inning. Twelve Horned Frogs have tallied at least one two-out RBI this season. Cam Warner leads the way with 14 on the way. Four other Horned Frogs have registered 10 or more two-out RBIs. All 12 Frogs with two-out RBIs have at least two. As a team, the Frogs are hitting.279 with two outs. Nolan Brown leads the way with 16 two-out hits, followed by 15 from Warner and 14 from Skoug. WALK THIS WAY TCU is second in the Big 12 and 12th nationally with 184 walks this season. The Frogs have translated free passes into runs at a high rate this season. 71 of the 184 (38.6%) walks have come around to score. Luken Baker leads the Big 12 and ranks ninth nationally with 29 walks this season. He has worked multiple walks in a game six times this year. Austen Wade (23), Evan Skoug (23) and Josh Watson (22) have also worked over 20 walks this year. PILING UP THE Ks TCU is one of four Big 12 teams to have surpassed the 300 mark for total strikeouts. Only 29 teams in the NCAA have totaled over 300 punchouts this season. The Frogs 322 Ks rank 13th nationally. Seventeen times this season, TCU has tallied 10 or more strikeouts in a game. In the 15-inning game against Texas A&M, the Frogs fanned a school-record 26 batters. BASH BROTHERS TCU is tied for first in the Big 12 with 30 home runs this season. Ten Horned Frogs have contributed to the 30 long balls. Seventeen of the home runs have come with runners on base, including a trio of grand slams, the most since the 2010 campaign. Luken Baker leads the team with seven followed closely by Evan Skoug s five. In the three seasons prior to 2016, the Frogs had hit a combined 54 home runs spanning 189 games. In its last 92 games played, TCU has racked up 85 home runs. EXTRA, EXTRA TCU has played 54 extra inning games since 2004 and holds a mark in those games. The Frogs played a pair of extra-inning games at Kansas State, winning both. TCU took Friday s game by a 5-0 score in 11 innings and Saturday s game 1-0 in 10 innings.. TCU went to extra innings just two times in 2016, winning both contests. The Horned Frogs have won seven straight extra inning contests dating back to 2015.
