9 Cllisin Metric Criteria Previus: A vehicle accident is preventable when, after investigatin, it is determined that the accident was caused by the fact that the driver did nt exercise reasnable cautin, used faulty judgment, and/r did nt utilize defensive driving principles t prevent the accident. Current (utcme-based, effective 1/1/2015): A recrdable cllisin is cntact between emplyee-perated cmpany vehicles and ther vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, r statinary bjects, resulting in damage and/r injury; excludes events in which the cmpany vehicle was struck: 1) in rear bumper while stpped r prceeding in a traffic lane (nte: merging and turning-related events are recrdable), 2) while statinary in a traffic lane (e.g. stpped at a traffic signal), and 3) while parked. 10
