2 IMPORTANT NOTICE All working rallies must be booked a minimum of 10 days in advance by text only to Breda Skelton on This is to allow confirmation of instructors and organisation of rides. Late bookings may not guarantee a place in the most suitable ride for an individual rider s experience Due to demand the popular Riding skills 10 s courses at Sean Doran s will continue for April. 6 IPC Hunter Trial Championships Good luck to the following members who are competing at the Irish Pony Club Hunter Trials at Lisgarvan House, Ballon next Saturday 14 th April. Please come and support. Admission is free! All competitors please remember to bring your own number bib. Medical arm bands with membership card inserted must be worn. Passports must be presented at tack inspection, Course open for walking from 2pm to dusk on Friday. Hat tagging available from 2pm Friday. Junior course walk Friday 6.15pm with Jimmy Dermody, if interested book in with Rosemary Walsh. Meet at the 1 st Fence. Competitors please familiarise yourselves with the IPC Hunter trial rulebook.

7 CAMP Please commit and book Camp ASAP as that is the only way that Instructors can be booked. Several other branches have their Camp the same week and unless we have an accurate idea of numbers attending we will have difficulty recruiting Instructors. We ideally like to keep ride numbers at 8 per ride. The first to book will be placed in the most suitable ride for their level, so if you leave it too late you may not be able to join the most suitable ride All Camp bookings to Mrs Patricia Lawlor, Kilcoltrim, Borris. Application forms enclosed. Don t forget this year s Camp dates are 2nd to 6 th July. Any pony attending camp will have to have a passport with up to date vaccinations. Initial vaccinations are administered over a period of time so it is advisable to ensure early on in the year that all is in order, check with your vet. Jump Sponsorship! Thank you to the team who toiled over the winter making the XC Jumps. One CHPC family have come up with a novel idea to raise funds for the materials to build the XC jumps and they have set the ball rolling and have sponsored a jump for Camp. If you would like to sponsor a jump please contact Eamonn Kelly. Thank you to all who helped build the jumps and who set up the course before the rally at Jordans. It truly was excellent team work and greatly appreciated. Further work is underway for Camp which promises to be very exciting. Hennessy s have kindly offered their farm adjoining Jordans for use at Camp, and if the Rally was a taster, then Camp should be really worth looking forward to!

8 GAMES Congratulations to the Mounted Games team who travelled to Randallstown, Co Antrim on March 30 th & 31 st. Lucy Hancock, Sinead Walsh, Megan Telford- Kelly, Thomas & George Connolly finished a very promising 5 th in this Senior games competition. Thank you to trainer Michelle Skelton who travelled with them. The CHPC team looked very dashing sporting the new CHPC jackets! Well done to Tia Bradley who represented Ireland in a Senior Games tournament in Wales Easter weekend. Her team were 3 rd in the C final Area 1 Qualifier dates Show jumping qualifier hosted by Bray & Wicklow PC s at Boswell July 17 th 2012 Combined training / Pure dressage hosted by Carlow Hunt Pony Club at Bunclody July 24 th Mounted Games qualifier hosted by Shilleagh PC at Carnew Show July 14 th Please check and acquaint yourselves with the Irish Pony Club website for all information, rules and regulations. This is especially important for new members.

9 Letter from Rosemary Walsh Hi to all members and parents, Carlow Pony Club have now done a deal with Solar Signs in Bagenalstown to provide, print and sell four items of clothing to our members. The reason for doing this is to help keep club overheads down. The four items are as follows: 1) Polo top with logo on front 2) Pony Club Sweatshirt with logo on front 3) Cross Country 'rugby' style top in the Carlow colours 4) Regatta rain jackets with logo on back, with the option of child's name also printed on front left (the name printed on the front is your choice but probably not a good idea for younger children from a child protection point of view) Please note that both the polo top and rain jacket are optional items. They could possibly make good birthday or Christmas presents! but there is absolutely no pressure on parents to buy these two items! You will only need the cross country top if you plan to compete representing your club. Jane Hancock has had jackets printed in various sizes and is happy to show them to you before you purchase. The clothing will be sold at cost to members therefore the only charge by Solar Signs is that for the printing which is very reasonable. All you need to do is go into the shop (opposite Supervalu in Bagenlstown), try on the size that fits you and the staff there will endeavour to have the items printed in 10 minutes or so. In the unlikely event that your size is not in stock, Nigel or Amy will place an order for you and will have the item ready for collection in a few days. Solar Signs have also taken on all remaining printed stock held by the pony club which will be sold to members before any new stock is ordered in. I would welcome any feedback on the service or any hitches in the system so that we can iron them out asap. If there are any issues please address them with me directly. We are pleased to be able to offer this business to a local company and hopefully you will be pleased with your purchases. The following items can still be purchased from me.
