With help from my fr in lw, I ws ble get it home. Looking round my yrd, I spotted few prts lying round. This is my first mock up. Whtch think? I hd get it off ground. So I built this dolly move it round. Ok now, were off running. LOL A h full of 5/16 bolts help from my son John, fenders running bords mounted. Got flo strted. Sced sweet del. Got cowl, rdit from 1930 four do. Got steering column box. Bumper brckets fender brckets from Complete 1929 front ssembly. WE put it ll ger now it s on ground. The C clmp is tempry. I dered new spring perch clmp, only NEW prt on this chssis. I dded hood ssembly dy. I know y ll re wondering, where s drivetrin. Well, I don t hve ll of it yet. I do hve turbo chrged 4 cylinder from T-Bird. Just need n umtic trnsmission n old fd truck rer xle. Then drive line be complete. My 1930 Tud hs new fenders will be pinted in Jnury. Well folks this is ll I got f right now from Mgoo s Grge. O btw, we nme things in our household. The Tud is Mgoo. The Firlne is renmed in hon of, Frnkie. And Hen-Wy is clled Mgooski. 8 The Rotund Roving Repter by Lou Ironside Two swp meets rept on this month, one in Ohio, drn close Ohio! First Monroe Swp meet in Monroe t firgrounds put on by Nick Sue Avin. The crowd ws huge, prking lot filled, LOT of vends in spite of dmp, cool wer. Although little smller thn spring swp meet, this is lwys pcked with plenty of prts f old cr enthusist. There were some pre-wr prts, but I would sy vst mjity of vends were selling prts from 60 s up. Everyone in our group found prts bring home we re lredy looking fwrd spring meet. The second swp meet ws put on by Dyn-Buckeye chpter of Model A Resters Club, in Brookville, Ohio. Although re were fewer vends indos: due sunny dy in low 60 s, re were fr me outdo vends surrounding delership. Being put on by Model A group, s you would expect re were lot of pre-wr Fd prts vilble. There were plenty of prts choose from, very resonble prices. It is often smller meets tht you find brgins, this meet ws certinly no exception tht. Literture From The Pst by Lou Ironside Recently while visiting friend he gve me some literture he found in ttic of fmer Fd Delership in Imly City, MI. I know tht lte Stretch Stimer bought lot of prts out of tht ttic, so I ws surprised tht nything ws left. One of ttched phos shows front bck of business crd f F.W.Hoisingn who ws distribut of Fd, Lincoln Fdson trcts. The crds dte mid-1920 s, 1935 phone book f Imly City shows different Fd distribut. My guess Mr. Hoisingn ws victim of depression. The 2nd pho is one of pieces of literture I ws given out of tht ttic. It is 76 pge book on Fdson trct, it hs full col front bck, is filled with phos testimonils from Fdson trct owners. The book is Pge 8 9 x 6, in spite of stge since erly 1920 s, is s fresh crisp s if it ws printed yesterdy. I know tht Fd literlly fced ll delers sell trcts even if y were in big cities, so I would ssume y lso fced delers purchse vrious litertures; buy cse of booklets like this probbly ws not chep. With my stickers proudly on windshield bcklite I entered in 17 rces this seson, which is little over hlf s mny s I usully run. I hve dmit tht re were couple of weekends tht I did not go becuse it ws just o hot, weekends tht were plgued by rin, even one tht cme screeching hlt becuse of snow. Besides those excuses, one weekend my throttle cble broke without spre. On n weekend I broke my sck C-4 trnsmission cse. Moving right long I guess we cn t count time lternt quit on mothome in downwn Detroit, n time when left rer wheel bering shredded on enclosed triler tking out brkes mgnets. My C-4 broke its cse becuse I ws running very hevy duty ftermrket servo tht pounded sck cse deth. When we got home Sundy evening Mike, my son, pulled trns out tht sme evening.
