The Mids enjoy a 1.5 game lead in the Patriot League standings over a quartet of teams including Army, a 12-4 winner over Bucknell, and Colgate, who defeated Loyola Maryland 11-4 in a game also shown on CBS Sports Network. The Terriers and Greyhounds are the other two programs locked in a four-way tie at 3-2. Lehigh appears to be on the rebound, following a 19-7 win over Holy Cross. Lafayette dropped an 18-7 decision at UMBC in a non-league matchup. Defending Champion Loyola Next up for the Mids Navy will bring a four-game winning streak to the Ridley Athletic Complex on Saturday as defending champion and preseason favorite Loyola hosts the Mids at 2:30 p.m. in a key Patriot League contest. Army gets the League slate started when they welcome Boston University at noon, Lafayette hosts Holy Cross at 1 p.m. followed by Colgate entertaining Lehigh at 2 p.m. Bucknell will try to snap a two-game losing streak when they travel to Mount Saint Mary s at noon. All of the League matchups, with the exception of Boston University at Army, will be available on the Patriot League Network. Army, Navy Appear in both the Coach & Media Polls Navy returned to the USILA Coaches Poll for the first time since the 2010 season when the Mids entered the rankings at No. 18 after knocking off No. 19 Boston University for their fourth straight victory. Army appears at No. 15 in both polls following a comfortable win over Bucknell. Loyola Maryland clings to the No. 20 spot in the Coaches poll but fell out of the media rankings for the first time this season following a loss to Colgate. Three teams that have spent time in the top 20 this season -- Boston University, Bucknell and Colgate -- are among the programs receiving votes. Holy Cross To Support Wounded Warrior Project The Holy Cross men s lacrosse program will be supporting the Wounded Warrior Project through various events at its game versus Colgate on Saturday, April 11. The Wounded Warrior Project raises awareness and enlists the public s aid for the needs of injured service members. The Crusaders will be holding a free pre-game youth lacrosse clinic partnered with Trilogy Lacrosse from 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and an autograph session following the game. Lafayette to Hold Legends of Lacrosse Day The Lafayette men s lacrosse team will honor two alums, Tom Perini 11 and Jud Linville 79, as part of Legends Day on April 4, prior to the Leopards game against Holy Cross. Perini was a two-time All-Patriot League selection, a USILA Scholar All- America selection and ranks fifth in League history with 127 career goals. Linville was a standout on the men s lacrosse team from , and served as team captain during his senior season, when the team posted a program-record nine wins. Follow the Action on ASN, CBS, ESPN3 and PLN Once again, the Patriot League will partner with Campus Insiders on the Patriot League Network, a streaming platform that will enable fans to watch League regular season and postseason events for free. In addition to roughly 50 Patriot League Men s Lacrosse contests available on PLN, another dozen will be broadcast by American Sports Network, CBS Sports Network and ESPN3. Student-athletes representing Army, Colgate, Lehigh and Navy were selected after leading their teams to victories. Colgate goalkeeper Brandon Burke was the only repeat winner from this season after recording a dozen saves in the Raiders 11-4 win at Loyola. Burke was also honored during the first week of the season where he also earned USILA Defensive Player of the Week honors. Army s Connor Cook (Offense), Navy s Matt Rees (Defense) and Lehigh s Adam Sawicki (Rookie) rounded out the weekly award recipients. Honorable mention went to Colgate s John Baker and Cameron Williams, Army s Sam Somers and Lehigh s Dan Taylor.. CORVIAS OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK CONNOR COOK, ARMY Jr., A, California, Md. Cook tallied a career high in points, netting five goals and two assists in the Black Knights 12-4 win over #20 Bucknell on Saturday. The junior recorded a hat trick in the first 20 minutes as Army raced to a 6-1 lead. Cook added single goals in the third and fourth quarter to set a new career best with five goals. Cook is second on the Black Knights with 22 goals and has scored a goal in 16-straight games. CORVIAS DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK MATT REES, NAVY So., LSM, Sykesville, Md. Rees helped the Mids defense limit Boston University, who came into the game ranked 10th nationally in scoring, to just six goals in a 14-6 Navy victory. Rees was a force on defense where he was responsible for a school-record six caused turnovers, propelling himself to #10 in the country in caused turnovers per game (1.70). Additionally, he grabbed a team-high five ground balls against the Terriers, one shy of his best. CORVIAS GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK BRANDON BURKE, COLGATE So., GK, Potomac, Md. Burke and the Colgate defense held #15/16 Loyola to its lowest scoring total by half in an 11-4 road victory. The Greyhounds previous lowest scoring output of the season was eight, but they had a tough time finding the mark as Burke recorded 12 saves and had a save percentage of.750. With 35 saves in the past three games, the reigning Patriot League Rookie of the Year has dropped his goals-against average to 8.21 on the season. CORVIAS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK ADAM SAWICKI, LEHIGH Fr., GK, Winter Park, Fla. Sawicki faced 26 shots in a pair of road wins last week, recording eight saves in the Mountain Hawks 16-5 win over Monmouth and nine saves and six goals allowed in a 19-7 win at Holy Cross. For the season, Sawicki has allowed 10, 7, 5 and 6 goals in his four starts and he owns a 7.57 GAA and.563 save percentage. HONORABLE MENTION SAM SOMERS, ARMY Sr., GK, Wilton, Conn. Somers stopped 11 shots, including six in the first 15 minutes of the game, as the Black Knights knocked off No. 20 Bucknell JOHN BAKER, COLGATE Jr., D, Darien, Conn. Baker Led Colgate s best defensive effort of the season with a career-high five ground balls in an 11-4 win over No. 15/16 Loyola. CAMERON WILLIAMS, COLGATE Jr., M, Upper Arlington, Ohio Williams set a career-high with four goals and five points in Colgate s 11-4 road win over No. 15/16 Loyola.
